Rationale And Objectives: To comprehensively assess the feasibility of low-dose computed tomography (LDCT) using deep learning image reconstruction (DLIR) for evaluating pulmonary subsolid nodules, which are challenging due to their susceptibility to noise.
Materials And Methods: Patients undergoing both standard-dose CT (SDCT) and LDCT between March and June 2023 were prospectively enrolled. LDCT images were reconstructed with high-strength DLIR (DLIR-H), medium-strength DLIR (DLIR-M), adaptive statistical iterative reconstruction-V level 50% (ASIR-V-50%), and filtered back projection (FBP); SDCT with FBP as the reference standard.

Radiotherapy is a primary modality in cancer treatment but is accompanied by severe side effects to healthy tissues and radiation resistance to some extent. To overcome these limitations, we developed a HO-responsive photosensitizer, CyBT, which could be activated by the upregulated HO induced by radiotherapy, enabling near-infrared fluorescence imaging-guided combination photodynamic and radiotherapy. The synthesis of CyBT began with the covalent linkage of hemicyanine and a free radical TEMPO through the click reaction, which demonstrated superior photodynamic properties.

Shengxian decoction, a traditional Chinese medicinal prescription, has been shown to alleviate doxorubicin-induced chronic heart failure. This study established an ultra-performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry method to separate and characterize the complex chemical compositions of Shengxian decoction, and the absorbed compounds in the bio-samples of the cardiotoxicity rats with chronic heart failure after its oral delivery. Note that 116 chemical compounds were identified from Shengxian decoction in vitro, 81 more than previously detected.

Background: This study aims to investigate the relevance of platelet aggregation markers, specifically arachidonic acid (AA) and adenosine diphosphate (ADP), in relation to the prognosis of sepsis patients.
Methods: A cohort of 40 sepsis patients was included and stratified, based on their 28-day post-treatment prognosis, into two groups: a survival group (n = 31) and a severe sepsis group (n = 9. Then, their various clinical parameters, including patient demographics, platelet counts (PLT), inflammatory markers, and platelet aggregation rates (PAR) induced by AA and ADP between the two groups, were compared.
