Associations between accelerometer-measured physical activity and sedentary behaviour with physical function among older women: a cross-sectional study.

Background: This study aimed to investigate the relationships between accelerometer-measured physical activity (PA) and sedentary behaviour (SB) with physical function (PF) among older Chinese women in the community.

Methods: The present study comprised 1,113 community-dwelling older females, with an average age of 65 ± 2 years. We employed a linear regression analysis to investigate the relationship between patterns of PA and SB with PF.

Background: This study aimed to provide a comprehensive assessment of burden estimates and the secular trend of vision loss due to retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) among people younger than 20 years, at the global, regional and national levels.

Methods: Data were obtained from the Global Burden of Disease Study 2019 database. The average annual percentage change (AAPC) was calculated to quantify the temporal trends in the measures of vision loss.

Factors Associated With Parenting Stress in Parents of Children With Nephrotic Syndrome: A Cross-Sectional Study.

Limited empirical studies were identified to quantify parenting stress in parents of children with nephrotic syndrome (NS). This cross-sectional study aimed to address this gap by examining the prevalence and factors associated with parenting stress. Two hundred two Chinese parents of children with NS were investigated by using the Parenting Stress Index-Short Form (PSI-SF), the Parenting Sense of Competence Scale (PSCS), the Social Support Rating Scale (SSRS), and a demographic questionnaire.

Associations between objectively measured pattern of physical activity, sedentary behavior and fear of falling in Chinese community-dwelling older women.

This cross-sectional study aimed to examine the associations of objectively-measured physical activity (PA) and sedentary behavior (SB) patterns with fear of falling (FOF) in Chinese community-dwelling older women. Data from Physical Activity and Health in Older Women Study were analyzed for 1101 older women aged 60 to 70. Variables were demographics, objectively-measured PA, SB and FOF.

Association between family management and asthma control in children with asthma.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the association between family management and asthma control in children with asthma.

Design And Methods: This cross-sectional descriptive study recruited 142 children with asthma and their parents. We used the Family Management Measure (FaMM), the Childhood Asthma Control Test (C-ACT), and fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO) detectors to assess family management and asthma control.

Objective To investigate the association of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of signal transducer and activator of transcription 4 (STAT4) rs7574865 and miRNA146a rs2910164 with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) in Wuling mountain area. Methods 287 RA patients and 305 age-matched healthy controls were included. The rs7574865 and rs2910164 SNPs of RA patients and control subjects were measured by multiplex PCR combined with high throughput sequencing(HI-SNP).

Facile large-scale preparation of mesoporous silica microspheres with the assistance of sucrose and their drug loading and releasing properties.

Mesoporous silica microspheres (MSMs) with a pore-size larger than 10nm and a large pore-volume have attracted considerable attention for their application in delivering poorly water-soluble drugs. Here we developed a simple method for large-scale synthesis of MSMs using sodium silicate as silica precursor. The novelty of this approach lies in the use of sucrose solution to achieve large size and volume of nanopores.

Acceptability of human papillomavirus vaccine among parents of junior middle school students in Jinan, China.

Objective: To determine the level of awareness on human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine and acceptance of HPV vaccination among parents of junior middle school students.

Methods: A cross sectional survey employing cluster sampling was conducted in Jinan, Shandong Province of China in January of 2013.

Results: A total of 400 parents of junior middle school students participated in the questionnaire survey, among whom 360 (90%) completed valid questionnaires.
