We explore the association between adulthood employment patterns and later life health among men and women in four liberal regime countries: two from Europe (England and Switzerland) and two from the Americas (United States and Chile). We carefully harmonized life-history data from the surveys SHARE (N = 1,143), HRS (N = 4,006), ELSA (N = 3,083), and EVDA (N = 802). The samples included individuals born between 1944 and 1954, with information on employment histories from age 15 to 65 and on 11 health outcomes in later life.

The Synthesis of a Large Stokes-Shift Dye and Intercalation into the Nanochannels of Zeolite L.

A host-guest-based fluorescent composite with a large Stokes shift was synthesized by intercalating 2,2'-(thiophene-2,5-diyl)bis(benzo[d]oxazol-6-amine) (BBTA) into the nanochannels of zeolite L (ZL) and sealing the pores with (3-aminopropyl)triethoxysilane (APTES). To confirm the orientation of the amino groups in BBTA, a single crystal of 2,5-bis(6-nitrobenzo[d]oxazol-2-yl)thiophene (BBTN) was grown and examined by X-ray crystallography. The evidence of successful intercalation of BBTA into the nanochannels of ZL was provided by fluorescence spectrometry, gas sorption and fluorescence microscopy.

Evaluation of the post-COVID multidisciplinary outpatient clinic at the Pulmonary Division of the Cantonal Hospital Winterthur from the patient's perspective: a mixed-methods study.

Aims Of The Study: This prospective study, conducted with patients from the multidisciplinary post-COVID outpatient clinic at the Pulmonary Division of the Cantonal Hospital Winterthur, aimed to investigate changes in patients' main symptoms, elements that aided in coping with the condition and satisfaction with the consulting and therapeutic interventions.

Methods: After obtaining ethical approval, fifty patients were consecutively included in this longitudinal study, which incorporated three survey times post-consultation: t1 (0-7 days), t2 (4-8 weeks) and t3 (4-6 months). The survey comprised standardised questionnaires, including the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, the Post-COVID-19 Functional Status scale and the Chalder Fatigue scale, along with study-specific questions regarding symptoms and reasons for consulting the post-COVID outpatient clinic.

Introduction: Maternal-neonatal healthcare services were severely disrupted during the COVID-19 pandemic in even high-income countries within the World Health Organization (WHO) European Region. The objective of this study was to compare trends in the quality of maternal and neonatal care (QMNC) in Sweden and Norway to 12 other countries from the WHO European Region during the COVID-19 pandemic, and to identify domains for improvement.

Material And Methods: This cross-sectional study included women giving birth in Europe from March 1, 2020 to December 31, 2022.

Background: Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) is still underutilised in both dementia research and corresponding dissemination activities.

Aim: To describe the methods, format, and lessons learned in co-creating and co-producing a dissemination strategy for a research project focused on establishing patient-centred outcome measures into routine palliative community care for persons living with dementia (PLWD) and their informal carers.

This study investigates the bio-detoxification potential of 238 strains of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) and spp., previously isolated from cereals (including mycotoxin-contaminated grains), against the emerging mycotoxin, enniatin B (ENB), and the prevalent mycotoxin, deoxynivalenol (DON).

Optimizing Technical Training for Wheelchair-User Billiard Players through Modified Equipment Implementation.

This study aims to enhance the effectiveness of the preparation process and the performance of wheelchair users in international billiard competitions through modified equipment. The research methods include analysis and synthesis of the scientific and methodological literature, sociological research methods (questionnaires), expert assessment methods, pedagogical research methods (observation, testing, experimentation), and methods of mathematical statistics. The results of our study are significant: Implementing our developed training program for billiards players with musculoskeletal disorders, utilizing the modified equipment (special mechanical bridge and straps for cue fixation during shots) we created in a pedagogical experiment, demonstrated a probable improvement of 36% in the technical and tactical preparedness of the athletes compared to previous years.
