Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD), as a metabolic stress liver injury disease, is one of the most common chronic liver diseases, which seriously threatens people's health. The pathogenesis of NAFLD is very complex. A large number of studies show that the hepatic mitochondrial dysfunction leads to the disorder of hepatic glucose and lipid metabolism, oxidative stress, and inflammation, thus inducing hepatocyte apoptosis, which plays an important role in the progression of NAFLD.

We report a general protocol for -C-H fluoroalkoxylation of benzaldehydes and benzylic amines utilizing an inexpensive amino amide as a transient directing group. In the presence of an electrophilic fluorinating bystanding oxidant and fluorinated alcohols, a wide range of benzaldehydes and benzylic amines could be oxygenated selectively at the ortho positions to afford fluoroalkyl aryl ethers. This elegant approach would provide appealing strategies for synthesis of drug molecules and natural products.

Under the background of the Belt and Road Initiative, the exchange of traditional medicine has become inevitable. China and Thailand are amicable neighbors, and the cooperation between the two countries in the field of traditional medicine has become increasingly close in recent years. Nevertheless, on account of the differences in culture, region, politics, economy and so on, the two countries have common features and unique characteristics in the theoretical system of traditional medicine, quality standard control of medicinal materials, research and development and use of medicinal materials.

In this study, we investigated the mechanism of crude extract of Psammosilene tunicoides(CEPT) in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis(RA) based on the Nod-like receptor protein 3(NLRP3) inflammasome. The collagen-induced arthritis(CIA) mouse model was established. On day 32 after the primary immunization, according to the arthritis score, the mice were randomly divided into model group, positive control(methotrexate) group, low-and high-dose CEPT groups, and normal group, with 10 mice in each group.

National Resource Center for Non-Human Primates, Kunming Primate Research Center, and National Research Facility for Phenotypic & Genetic Analysis of Model Animals (Primate Facility), Kunming Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Kunming, Yunnan, China. Electronic address:

Background: Ischemic stroke leads to a long-term disability in humans and no efficient clinical therapy exists to date. The middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) model in non-human primates has shown to be of value for translational stroke research. New method In the current study, a photothrombotic (PT) stroke model was established in rhesus monkeys with either a proximal or distal segment of middle cerebral artery (MCA) thrombosis.

[Research progress in pharmacological effects of Erigeron breviscapus and its active ingredients for treatment of Alzheimer's disease].

Zhongguo Zhong Yao Za Zhi

December 2020

Yunnan Provincial Academy of Science and Technology Kunming 650051, China.

Alzheimer's disease(AD) is a neurodegenerative disease that has no effective drug to cure it. Studies in several AD models have shown that Erigeron breviscapus and its active ingredients(scutellarin and caffeoylquinic acid) could improve/enhance the learning and memory ability, and the mechanisms are associated with inhibiting amyloid β(Aβ) production, aggregation, fibrosis and Aβ neurotoxicity toxicity, regulating cholinergic nervous system, inhibiting oxidative stress and inflammation, inhibiting tau hyperphosphorylation, improving mitochondrial function, and resisting neuronal apoptosis. This article systematically reviewed the research progress of E.

Article Synopsis
  • The study focused on developing a specialized chromatography method for analyzing Scutellaria Extract and assessing the quality of various commercial samples.
  • High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) was used to identify ten key characteristic peaks that help determine the quality and consistency of the extracts from different manufacturers.
  • Analyses revealed significant quality variations in commercial samples, particularly in peaks 4, 6, and 7, emphasizing the need for a multi-component approach for evaluating Scutellaria Extract rather than relying solely on baicalin content.

  • Epigenetic diversity may enhance the adaptive evolution of organisms, particularly in plants facing new stressors like salinity.
  • This study focused on field pennycress, examining how salinity stress affects DNA methylation and whether these changes can be inherited by offspring for two generations.
  • Results showed that while individual DNA methylation patterns varied not consistently, overall epigenetic diversity increased significantly at the population level under salinity stress, and phenotypic variations were also more pronounced in stressed plants compared to controls.
