This study investigated the presence of 20 organophosphate esters (OPEs) in indoor dust samples collected from the Chinese cities of Lanzhou, Xining, and Lhasa. The results demonstrate the ubiquitous presence of most OPEs in these three cities, with the highest concentrations of ΣOPEs found in Xining. We also summarized the occurrence of OPEs in indoor environments from 38 studies with 1875 samples collected across various regions of mainland China from 2012 to 2023.

Zygotic genome activation occurs in two-cell (2C) embryos, and a 2C-like state is also activated in sporadic (~1%) naïve embryonic stem cells in mice. Elevated chromatin accessibility is critical for the 2C-like state to occur, yet the underlying molecular mechanisms remain elusive. Zscan4 exhibits burst expression in 2C embryos and 2C-like cells.

This study aimed to investigate the mechanism of Xuanhong Dingchuan Tang (XHDCT) in delaying bronchial asthma inflammation via the microRNA (miR)-107-3p/prostaglandin endoperoxide synthase 2 (PTGS2)/mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) axis. Based on the network pharmacological analysis, XHDCT chemical constituents and targets of each chemical constituent were screened through the TCMSP database, and differential-expressed genes of bronchial asthma were obtained from the GEO database, which were intersected to get XHDCT potential anti-inflammatory targets. The key anti-inflammatory targets of XHDCT were acquired by protein-protein interaction (PPI) analysis of the candidate targets.

Background: Mechanical stretch-mediated tissue expansion is effective for obtaining extra skin and soft tissue required for the repair of defects or reconstruction of surface organs. Understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms and identifying hub genes and key cell types associated with skin expansion could help predict the success of skin growth during expansion procedures.
Methods: We analyzed murine chip sequencing data and single-cell sequencing data available from the Gene Expression Omnibus database.

Introduction: Postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD) is a common complication following surgery. Electroacupuncture (EA), manual acupuncture (MA), transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation (TEAS), and cognitive training (CT) can effectively maintain or improve the postoperative cognitive function of patients. However, it remains unclear which therapy is the most effective.

Background: The role of the vitamin D receptor single nucleotide polymorphism FOKI (VDR-FOKI) (rs2228570) in genetic susceptibility to type 2 diabetic kidney disease (T2DKD) remains uncertain. This study investigated the relationship between VDR-FOKI and T2DKD within the Chinese Plateau Han population and analyzed the underlying mechanisms.
Methods: A total of 316 subjects were enrolled, including 44 healthy adults, 114 individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), and 158 patients with T2DKD.

Introduction: Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are a leading cause of mortality worldwide. Red blood cell indices (RBIs) are associated with CVD risk factors (CRFs) and easy to test, making them useful as a screening tool for early identification of individuals at high risk for CVDs.
Methods: Data from 31,781 participants in the China National Health Survey conducted from 2012 to 2017 were analyzed.

The Banna miniature inbred pig (BN) is an intensively inbred line for biomedical research and xenotransplantation due to its low individual variation and stable genetic background. Although it is originated from the Diannan miniature pig (DN), substantial genetic changes have actually occurred. However, the lack of a BN reference genome has limited studies on the complete genomic architecture and utilization as a biomedical model.

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic autoimmune disorder marked by pain, inflammation, and discomfort in the synovial joints. It is critical to understand the pathological mechanisms of RA progression. MicroRNA-378 (miR-378) is highly expressed in the synovium of RA patients and positively correlated with disease severity, but its function and underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Positive deficiency and cancer toxicity are the main pathogenesis of colorectal cancer (CRC) lung metastasis. Yanghe decoction (YHD), a traditional Chinese medicine, has the effects of warming yang, tonifying blood, dispersing cold and clearing stagnation, adopting a treatment method that combines supporting the right and dispelling the wrong, which has remarkable efficacy in anti-tumor.Although, its precise mechanism of inhibiting the metastasis of colorectal cancer to the lung is still poorly understood.

Macrophages that acquire an immunosuppressive phenotype play a crucial role in establishing the pre-metastatic niche (PMN), which is essential for facilitating breast cancer metastasis to distant organs. Our study showed that increased activity of the aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AHR) in lung macrophages plays a crucial role in establishing the immunosuppressive PMN in breast cancer. Specifically, AHR activation led to high expression of PD-L1 on macrophages by directly binding to the promoter of Pdl1.

Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) is the pathogen that causes porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS), leading to abortion of sows and the manifestation of respiratory diseases in piglets. PRRSV strains are categorized into two distinct genotypes: PRRSV-1 and PRRSV-2. PRRSV-2 can be further classified into several lineages, including sub-lineage 1.

To address this issue, we presented a simple, seedless method for synthesizing uniform HIF-Au NCs in an aqueous solution, which remarkably reduced the synthesis difficulty. Interestingly, the protonated NH which served as both the reducing and capping agent played a crucial role in modulating the kinetic growth of the HIF-Au NCs.
