Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the role of specific SNPs in the CDH1 gene and their association with gastric cancer risk, focusing on three SNPs: rs16260, rs13689, and rs9929218.
  • Among the SNPs, only rs13689 showed a significant association with gastric cancer, as patients had a much higher frequency of the T allele compared to healthy controls, indicating a fourfold increased risk.
  • The findings suggest that the T allele of rs13689 may significantly contribute to susceptibility to gastric cancer, while the other two SNPs may have implications for smokers.

The aim of this randomized clinical study was to assess the comparative efficacy of flurbiprofen in tablet and spray formulations for postoperative pain management in oral soft tissue wounds undergoing primary closure while investigating the feasibility of achieving optimal analgesia with reduced dosage and risk. Forty patients who underwent epulis fissuratum and frenulum excision for pre-prosthetic surgery were randomly assigned to receive either tablet or spray forms of flurbiprofen. The lesion dimensions were measured preoperatively, followed by excision and primary closure.

Background: Considering the low rate of qualitative studies on athletes with anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR), aiming to access in-depth data, we thought that the utilization of the qualitative method would allow us to collect the appropriate and sufficient data to yield novel findings and achieve sound conclusions. The study's aim was to investigate anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury experience processes in athletes who had undergone isolated ACLR, reveal the clinically related milestones, and highlight the necessary gaps.

Methods: Semi-structured interview techniques, in-depth follow-up questions, and thematic analysis were used to explore the experiences of participants with isolated ACL injuries 1-3 years after surgical treatment.
