Introduction: Primary intraventricular hemorrhage (PIVH) is a rare type of hemorrhagic stroke typically associated with vascular structural abnormalities. However, little is known about the epidemiology and etiology of PIVH caused by non-vascular structural abnormalities. In this study, we aimed to clarify the etiology, clinical characteristics, and prognosis of non-vascular structural-related intraventricular hemorrhage (NVSRIVH).

While immunotherapy has marked significant advances in cancer treatment, resistance remains a challenge. The complexity of the tumor microenvironment, particularly the role of B cell subpopulations, is a critical factor affecting treatment efficacy. In this study, we conducted analyses of single-cell RNA sequencing data from immunotherapy patients ( = 25) to explore the biomarker of immunotherapy resistance.

Elevated serum lipoprotein(a) levels as a potential risk factor for diabetic retinopathy in type 2 diabetes: a meta-analysis.

Purpose: This meta-analysis aimed to clarify the correlation between serum lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)] levels and diabetic retinopathy (DR) in type 2 diabetes (T2D) individuals.

Methods: We searched electronic databases, including PubMed, Web of Science, and Embase, for relevant observational studies evaluating the association between serum Lp(a) levels and the risk of DR. Odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were summarized to indicate the association between a high Lp(a) and the risk of DR.

Development and validation of a nomogram for predicting early acute hydrocephalus after spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage: a single-center retrospective study.

Acute hydrocephalus is a severe complication that may occur early after an intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). Introduction: The early diagnosis of kidney injury in type 2 diabetes (T2DM) is important to prevent the long-term damaging effects of kidney loss and is decisive for patient outcomes. While SIRT2 is implicated in diabetes pathogenesis, its correlation with diabetic nephropathy remains unexplored. This study was designed to evaluate the association of urine SIRT2 levels with diabetic kidney injury, as well as potential underlying mechanisms.

The aim of this study was to explore the values of serum neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) and cystatin C (Cys-C) after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for the early diagnosis of CIN.

Methods: Three hundred patients receiving PCI from January 2018 to December 2020 were assigned to a CIN group (n=25) and a non-CIN group (n=275), respectively.

Background: Ultrasound is one of the most commonly used examination methods in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) and is valuable in evaluating patient prognosis. Although contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) can assess more in depth the vascular lesions of patients, there is still a lack of relevant research on the value of quantitative parameters of CEUS in predicting the long-term prognosis of patients with chronic coronary syndrome (CCS), thus, we designed this study.

Methods: From January 2016 to December 2017, a total of 473 patients with CCS admitted to Yueyang People's Hospital were retrospectively enrolled.

Adamantinomatous craniopharyngioma (ACP) presents a significant challenge to neurosurgeons despite its benign histology due to its aggressive behavior and unique growth patterns. This narrative review explores the evolving landscape of ACP treatments and their efficacy, highlighting the continuous development in therapeutic approaches in recent years. Traditionally, complete resection was the primary treatment for ACP, but surgical -related morbidity have led to a shift.

Trends in liver cancer mortality in China from 1990 to 2019: a systematic analysis based on the Global Burden of Disease Study 2019.

Objective: We aimed to examine trends in overall mortality rates for liver cancer and those within subgroups according to sex, age, aetiological factors and modifiable risk factors in China from 1990 to 2019.

Design: The design of this study involved analysing liver cancer mortality rates in China from 1990 to 2019 using joinpoint regression analysis to identify significant changes in mortality rates. Annual percentage changes (APCs) and 95% CIs were used to quantify the magnitude of changes in mortality rates.

Methods: The study was a single-center retrospective study.

Methods: Retrospective analysis of basic data, tumor diameter, statistical analysis, and evaluation of efficacy-related indicators such as operative time, intraoperative bleeding, pathological findings, postoperative hospital stay, postoperative pancreatic fistula incidence, and pancreatic endocrine function was carried out on 17 patients diagnosed with benign or low-grade malignant tumors of the pancreas and laparoscopic middle pancreatic resection from January 2018 to January 2023 at the First Affiliated Hospital of Hunan Normal University.

Results: A total of 17 patients were screened.
