Neuroendocrine tumors (NENs) originate from neuroendocrine cells and predominantly occur in the gastrointestinal tract, lungs, and pancreas. Although the liver is commonly involved in NEN metastasis, primary hepatic neuroendocrine tumors (PHNETs) are rare. Herein, we report a case of a 52-year-old female who presented with slowly enlarging, cystic, multiple PHNETs.

Article Synopsis
  • This study evaluated the impact of removing the posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) while minimally releasing the medial collateral ligament (MCL) on knee joint dynamics in patients with varus osteoarthritis.
  • The research involved 75 knees undergoing total knee arthroplasty, measuring changes in joint center gap and ligament balance using digital sensors and navigation systems under different distraction forces.
  • Findings showed that PCL resection led to significant increases in joint gap and tibial internal rotation during knee flexion, suggesting that this procedure affects the balance of the knee joint, particularly favoring lateral gaps over medial ones.

Background: Surgical planning of posterior referencing total knee arthroplasty (TKA) using computed tomography (CT) might lead to over-rotation of the femoral component because CT could not detect cartilage thickness of the posterior femoral condyle. The purpose of this study was to examine the rotational alignment difference of the femoral component between magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and CT.

Methods: For elderly varus osteoarthritic patients, 66 varus osteoarthritic knee patients that underwent primary TKA were selected.

The regimen of oxaliplatin with 5-fluorouracil plus l-leucovorin (FOLFOX) has become one of the most commonly used first-line chemotherapy for patients with advanced colorectal cancer and it provides an increase in disease-free survival as well as an overall survival benefit. Although FOLFOX chemotherapy has helped to improve the clinical outcomes in these patients, the regimen is associated with some therapeutic issues or uncontrolled side effects. Gastrointestinal, neurosensory, and hematological toxicities have frequently been observed in patients treated with FOLFOX, and consequently, some palliative treatment has been established to combat such complications.

In general, schwannoma is a benign and slow-glowing neoplasm that rarely occurs in the gastrointestinal tract as a submucosal tumor (SMT), with the most common site being the stomach. As gastric schwannoma (GS) is a rare tumor, there is limited data in the literature about its clinical features. The diagnosis of schwannoma can only be made by pathological examination with positive staining for S-100 protein.
