This study developed a molecular classification model for cervical cancer using machine learning, integrating prognosis related biomarkers with clinical features. Analyzing 281 specimens, 27 biomarkers were identified, associated with recurrence and treatment response. The model identified four molecular subgroups: group 1 (OALO) with Overexpression of ATP5H and LOw risk; group 2 (LASIM) with low expression of ATP5H and SCP, indicating InterMediate risk; group 3 (LASNIM) characterized by Low expression of ATP5H, SCP, and NANOG, also at InterMediate risk; and group 4 (LASONH), with Low expression of ATP5H, and SCP, Over expression of NANOG, indicating High risk, and potentially aggressive disease.

Nitrogen-doped carbon dots (CDs) have attracted considerable attention across various research areas and applications due to their enhanced optical properties and photostability. However, the mechanism of nitrogen incorporation in CDs remains elusive, hampering the precise control over nitrogen-incorporated structures and the investigation of the effects of nitrogen on the electronic structure and optical properties of CDs. In this study, we employed a rational design approach, utilizing glucosamine and ethylene glycol as the carbon source and co-reagent, respectively, to synthesize N-doped CDs.

Glucocorticoid receptor (GR) is activated by synthetic glucocorticoid or endogenous cortisol which were released by the physical and psychosocial stress, and recent studies reported that it is involved in tumor initiation and metastasis in various solid cancers. However, role of GR in cervical cancer has not been elucidated yet. Therefore, here we aim to unveil the role of GR in cervical cancer with cervical cancer clinical specimen and cervical cancer cell lines.

The current outbreak of the beta-coronavirus (beta-Cov) severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) began in December 2019. No specific antiviral treatments or vaccines are currently available. A recent study has reported that coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the disease caused by SARS-CoV-2 infection, is associated with neutrophil-specific plasma membrane rupture, and release excessive neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) and extracellular DNAs (eDNAs).

Increasing evidence implicates chromatin structure and epigenetic regulation in various human developmental disorders, including facial abnormalities and intellectual disability. Mutations in CCCTC-binding factor (CTCF) demonstrate its role in craniofacial development, but early lethality precludes the use of mutant mice for phenotypic investigations. In this study, we deleted specifically in neural crest cells, the multipotent cells that give rise to many structures of the skeleton and connective tissues in the developing head.

Commercially available health monitors rely on rigid electronic housing coupled with aggressive adhesives and conductive gels, causing discomfort and inducing skin damage. Also, research-level skin-wearable devices, while excelling in some aspects, fall short as concept-only presentations due to the fundamental challenges of active wireless communication and integration as a single device platform. Here, an all-in-one, wireless, stretchable hybrid electronics with key capabilities for real-time physiological monitoring, automatic detection of signal abnormality via deep-learning, and a long-range wireless connectivity (up to 15 m) is introduced.

Recently, we demonstrated that levels of 25-hydroxycholesterol (25-HC) and cholesterol 25-hydroxylase () were found to be elevated in X-ALD. Herein, we report that the exogenous addition of 25-HC significantly reduces C26:0 levels in X-ALD patient-derived fibroblasts and oligodendrocytes differentiated from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) derived from X-ALD patients.

A polymerase chain reaction based molecular test is currently the most sensitive diagnostic tool for HPAIV; however, the results must be analyzed in centralized diagnosis systems by a trained individual. This requirement leads to delays in quarantine and isolation.
