Background And Objective: Computed tomography (CT) of the head and neck is crucial for diagnosing internal structures. The demand for substituting traditional CT with cone beam CT (CBCT) exists because of its cost-effectiveness and reduced radiation exposure. However, CBCT cannot accurately depict airway shapes owing to image noise.

Background: Melasma, a common skin hyperpigmentation disorder, has traditionally been linked to hormonal changes in genetically predisposed individuals. Recent studies, however, highlight the role of photoageing, particularly from visible light exposure, as a significant contributing factor. Effective treatments for melasma and associated signs of photoageing remain a clinical challenge.

Introduction: The combination of hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers and polydioxanone (PDO) thread lifting is gaining popularity for mid-face rejuvenation, especially among the Asian population. Despite the common use of these techniques, there is a paucity of long-term studies assessing their combined efficacy and safety. This study aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of combined HA filler and PDO thread treatment for mid-face rejuvenation over a 24-month period in a Korean population.

Periodontitis is a prevalent inflammatory disease that affects tooth-supporting tissues and is induced by complex polymicrobial dental plaques. Prior treatments, including topical antibiotic ointments, have faced difficulties in tissue permeability issues. Although dissolving microneedle (DMN) has been proposed as a painless and highly efficient transdermal drug delivery system to resolve this challenge, minocycline, widely used for the treatment of periodontitis, is light-sensitive, making it challenging to maintain its stability using conventional fabrication methods.

Conventional methods for assessing tongue bacterial biofilms have low inter-examiner reliability due to visualization challenges. This study aimed to develop and assess a novel Tongue Biofilm Fluorescence Index (TBFI) for the accurate detection and objective evaluation of the quantitative and qualitative characteristics of tongue biofilms at the chairside. Data were collected from 81 elderly individuals (n = 162 images).

This study examined the case of 27-year-old female who underwent orthognathic surgery to correct class 3 malocclusion, resulting in an unnatural smile. The research aimed to assess the efficacy of non-invasive treatment in enhancing facial muscle movement during smiling to achieve a natural smile. The patient received eight sessions of treatment using non-invasive devices, and facial assessment were conducted using three-dimensional scanner (Morpheus 3D Scanner) to evaluate facial features in both relaxed and maximum smile states pre- and post-treatment.

Introduction: This study examines the therapeutic efficacy of polynucleotide-based therapies, specifically REJURAN, for managing scars and burns. Scars and burns present significant challenges in dermatology, often affecting patients' quality of life. Traditional treatments can be limited in effectiveness, prompting the exploration of innovative approaches like polynucleotide therapy, which utilizes salmon DNA to stimulate tissue repair, modulate inflammation, and enhance collagen production.

Exosomes, tiny extracellular vesicles derived from various cells such as adipose-derived stem cells, bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stem cells, and human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells, exhibit considerable potential in wound healing due to their ability to facilitate cell communication and modulate inflammatory responses. These exosomes contribute positively to collagen synthesis and scar reduction, and have shown efficacy in documented clinical cases of wound improvement. Although research indicates their potential in reducing hypertrophic scars and suppressing keloid fibroblasts, further clinical investigations are warranted.

Introduction: This study aimed to analyze the factors affecting the occurrence of peri-implant medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (PI-MRONJ) in patients using anti-resorptive drugs (ARDs) on different implant position, inclinations, and types of prosthesis.
Methods: The data of 75 patients with bone necrosis that progressed around the implant between 2018 and 2022 were retrospectively examined to identify the factors influencing PI-MRONJ. Data, including patient demographics (age, sex, smoking status, concomitant disease, time of ARD therapy, dose of ARDs, and parafunctional habits) and implant-specific information (type of prosthesis, angle of insertion), were extracted from medical and dental records.

Physiological needs evoke motivational drives that produce natural behaviors for survival. In previous studies, the temporally intertwined dynamics of need and motivation have made it challenging to differentiate these two components. On the basis of classic homeostatic theories, we established a normative framework to derive computational models for need-encoding and motivation-encoding neurons.

Purpose: Traditional dissection methods are primarily limited by challenges in identifying minute structures, which can lead to irreversible tissue damage. Anatomical observation of the larynx is particularly challenging in educational and clinical settings owing to its microscopic structures and complex three-dimensional (3D) nature, making it difficult to dissect. Therefore, this study aimed to demonstrate that micro-computed tomography (micro-CT) imaging of the larynx can serve as an effective alternative for educational and clinical purposes, overcoming these limitations.

Aim: Despite the high success rate of endodontic microsurgery (EMS), it is difficult to suggest EMS as a general treatment option considering the difficulty of the procedure. A surgical guide has been proposed to overcome this problem. This study aimed to evaluate the stability of the surgical guide of a new design concept, as well as the accuracy of root resection, and to introduce the manufacturing method of the newly designed surgical guide.
