Studies were searched in PubMed, EMBASE, PsycINFO, and Cochrane Databases up to March 2023.

Targeting the carotid body (CB) is a new approach in treating hypertension. This study investigates the efficacy and safety of ultrasound combined with microbubbles in targeting CB to treat hypertension. Twenty-seven hypertensive rabbits were randomly assigned to three groups: microbubbles only (sham group, n = 11), ultrasound plus microbubbles (LIFU group, n = 11), and bilateral carotid sinus nerve denervation (CSND group, n = 5).

Methods: Totally 100 AR patients were enrolled, with pre- and post-SLIT MLK score, total nasal symptoms score (TNSS), total medication score (TMS), visual analogue scale (VAS), inflammatory cytokines, and immune function-related parameters compared.

Background: Cardiotoxicity (CTX) induced by adjuvant chemotherapy is a significant factor that impacts the prognosis and quality of life in breast cancer (BC) patients. In this study, we aimed to investigate the changes in epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) before and after treatment in BC patients who received anthracyclines adjuvant chemotherapy protocol (AC-T) and anthracyclines combined with trastuzumabadjuvant chemotherapy protocol (AC-TH). Additionally, we assessed whether there were any differences in the changes in EAT between the two groups of patients.

Background: Traditional clinical studies have indicated a link between certain food intakes and type 2 diabetes (T2D), but the causal relationships between different dietary habits and T2D remain unknown. Using Mendelian randomization (MR) approaches, we investigated the potential causal association between dietary habits and T2D risk.

Methods: We collected publicly available genome-wide association studies' summary statistics for 18 dietary habits from the UK Biobank and T2D data from the DIAbetes Genetics Replication And Meta-analysis (DIAGRAM) consortium.

Therapeutic effect of modified cervical Jiaji acupuncture on mixed type cervical spondylosis.

Objectives: To observe the clinical efficacy of modified cervical Jiaji acupuncture in the treatment of mixed cervical spondylosis (MCS).

Methods: In this retrospective study, 120 patients with MCS who were treated in Yongchuan Hospital, Affiliated with Chongqing Medical University, from May 2020 to May 2023, were selected as the study subjects. According to the treatment methods, 52 patients who were treated with ordinary seat traction, tendon manipulation and ironing from January 2020 to December 2021 were grouped as the traditional treatment group.

The optimal management of large upper ureteral stones (> 1.5 cm) with infection in elderly patients: a comparative analysis of three minimally invasive surgical approaches.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the efficacy and safety of three minimally invasive surgical approaches for treating large upper ureteral stones complicated by infection in elderly (> 60 years) patients.

Methods: Clinical data from 95 elderly patients with large upper ureteral stones and infection, treated at our hospital between January 2018 and April 2023, were retrospectively analyzed. The surgical approaches included FURL (flexible ureteroscopic lithotripsy) 33 cases, mPCNL (minimally percutaneous nephrolithotomy) 29 cases, and RLUL (retroperitoneal laparoscopic ureterolithotomy) 33 cases.

Enhancing quality of life with 3-year course of sublingual immunotherapy for house dust mite-induced allergic rhinitis: An observational prospective study in real-life settings.

Purpose: This prospective study aims to provide further supportive evidence by assessing the sustained effectiveness and safety of sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) using a vaccine containing house dust mite (HDM) extracts in patients diagnosed with allergic rhinitis (AR) with/without conjunctivitis (AR/C).

Materials And Methods: AR/C patients (n = 111, SLIT group: 57, control group: 54) allergic to HDM were treated with standardized SLIT drops or symptomatic drugs from October to December in 2020. The patients were directed by the investigators to attend annual hospital visits for the assessment of various parameters including the Rhinoconjunctivitis Quality of Life Questionnaire (RQLQ), visual analog scale (VAS), total nasal symptom score (TNSS), total ocular symptom score (TOSS) and total medication score (TMS).
