Translationally controlled tumor protein (TCTP) is a regulatory protein that plays pivotal roles in cellular processes including the cell cycle, apoptosis, microtubule stabilization, embryo development, stress responses, and cancer. However, the molecular mechanism by which it promotes tumor angiogenesis is still unclear. In this study, we explored the mechanisms underlying stimulation of angiogenesis by a novel TCTP.

Cellular prion protein (PrP) encoded at gene is well-known to form a misfolded isoform, termed scrapie PrP (PrP) that cause transmissible degenerative diseases in central nervous system. The physiological role of PrP has been proposed by many studies, showing that PrP interacts with various intracellular, membrane, and extracellular molecules including mitochondrial inner membrane as a scaffold. PrP is expressed in most cell types including reproductive organs.

Background: Despite the explosive increase in interest regarding Robot-Assisted Walking Training (RAWT) for stroke patients, very few studies have divided groups according to the severity levels of patients and conducted studies on the effects of RAWT.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to present a definite basis for physical therapy using the robot-assisted walking device through a more detailed comparison and analysis and to select the optimal target of RAWT.
Methods: This study was designed as a prospective and randomized controlled trial to investigate the effect of RAWT on balance, motor function, and Activities of Daily Living (ADL) depending on severity levels in stroke patients.

Objectives: To (1) examine the effects of home-based balance training on balance and mobility outcomes; (2) evaluate comparable effects between home- and center-based balance training; (3) determine the effects of different levels of supervision on treatment effects; and (4) investigate dose-response relationships of home-based balance training on balance and mobility performance in persons with multiple sclerosis (MS).
Data Sources: Literature searches were conducted in MEDLINE, EMBASE, PsycINFO, SPORTSDiscus, and CINAHL in April 2023. Other literature sources included website and citation searches.

In this study we investigated the effects of an 8-week table tennis exercise program with a task-oriented approach on visual perception and motor performance of 31 adolescents with developmental coordination disorder (DCD). The participants were identified by their teachers as having greater difficulty than their peers (450 students from three Korean middle schools) in physical education (PE) classes. On the Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency-2, these adolescents scored below the 15th percentile and showed difficulties in performing daily life activities due to motor performance problems; they did not have physical defects, intellectual or neurological impairments, or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

Previously, we reported that epidermal growth factor-like module-containing mucin-like hormone receptor-like 1 (EMR1/ADGRE1) is abnormally expressed in colon cancer (CC) and is a risk factor for lymph node metastasis (LNM) and poor recurrence-free survival in patients with abundant tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs). However, the signaling pathways associated with EMR1 expression in CC progression remain unclear. This study aimed to investigate the effects of neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) with gastrocnemius (GCM) strength exercise on foot morphology in patients with stroke. Herein, 31 patients with chronic stroke meeting the study criteria were enrolled and divided into two groups; 16 patients were randomized to the gastrocnemius neuromuscular electrical stimulation (GCMNMES) group, and 15 patients to the conventional neuromuscular electrical stimulation (CNMES) group. The GCMNMES group conducted GCM-strengthening exercise with NMES.

Vaccines and antivirals for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 are now available; however, more effective antiviral drugs are required for effective treatment. The purpose of this study was to examine the immediate and post effects of a parent-mediated physical activity intervention on the fundamental motor skills of autistic children. We randomly assigned parent-child dyads (n = 31) of autistic children aged 4-11 years into three groups (workshop, an online, or control group). Each dyad participated in a 12-week intervention and was given adapted physical activity equipment and over 200 activities via a mobile application.

C1q and TNF-related 1 (C1QTNF1/CTRP1) is an adiponectin-associated protein belonging to the C1q/TNF-related protein family. Recent studies have shown that the C1q and TNF-related protein (CTRP) family is involved in cancer progression; however, the specific role of CTRP1 in tumor progression has not yet been elucidated. We investigated the influence of the menstrual cycle (MC) on leukocyte response after exercise-induced muscle damage (EIMD). During the early follicular (E-FP, = 12) or mid-luteal phase (M-LP, = 12), 24 untrained females with eumenorrhea performed 60 eccentric exercises using nondominant arms. Purpose: The purposes of the current study were to develop a questionnaire to measure parental physical activity (PA) support in parents of children with disabilities and to examine factors associated with parental PA support.
Materials And Methods: A questionnaire measuring parental PA support in parents of children with disabilities (PPSQ for PCD), consisting of three constructs (encouragement, co-PA, and logistic support) with 19 items, was initially developed and evaluated by the Confirmatory Factor Analysis. Three independent multiple regression analyses were conducted to examine associations between the three constructs and parental PA orientation variables.
