Objective: The burden of both general and drug-resistant tuberculosis in rural areas is higher than that in urban areas in China. To characterize the genetic structure and transmission risk of in rural China, we used whole genome sequencing to analyze clinical strains collected from patients in two counties of Yichang for three consecutive years.

Methods: From 2018 to 2020, sputum samples were collected for cultures from patients with suspected tuberculosis in Yidu and Zigui county, and DNA was extracted from the positive strains for genome sequencing.

This article investigates the impact of COVID-19 lockdown and regular epidemic prevention and control after lifting lockdown on asthma-related hospital and outpatient visits in Yichang. Data on the general outpatient department (GOPD), emergency department (ED) and intensive care unit (ICU) visits for asthma from 15 November 2019 to 21 May 2020 and the corresponding from 2018 to 2019 were collected from eight tertiary hospitals in municipal districts. The controlled interrupted time series (CITS) analysis was used to investigate the level and long-term trend changes of weekly asthma visits during lockdown and regular epidemic prevention and control, and stratified by type of visits and age.

To compare the accuracy of influenza-like illness (ILI) surveillance by automatic computer analysis based on electronic medical records and by doctor's report. A total of 3 542 patients who presented to Yichang Central Hospital fever clinic, respiratory department or emergency department between April to October 2019 with an ICD-10 code for acute respiratory illness (J00-J22) and complete electronic medical information of ILI related syndromes were drawn as the study sample. Taking the classification of the study sample according to the ILI case definition by influenza surveillance professionals as the gold standard, draw the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve and calculate sensitivity, specificity, diagnostic consistency to compared the accuracy of ILI surveillance by automatic computer analysis and by doctor's report.
