Herein, cellulose pulp (CP), carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC), and thymol-based eco-friendly, transparent, and flexible composite films are prepared. These materials dissolved well in an environment-friendly process in -methyl morpholine -oxide (NMMO) ionic liquids using infrared heating. Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analyses are used to study the structure, microstructure, and morphology of the composite films.

Thrust manipulation is one of the most commonly used techniques for managing musculoskeletal pain in clinical practice. This involves the application of a high-velocity, low-amplitude force directed to the joints with the intent of achieving joint cavitation. This current case report describes a female in her mid-20s who presented with excessive bilateral and involuntary hand muscle contractions after bilateral thrust manipulation.

Diabetes is a persistent health condition led by insufficient use or inappropriate use of insulin in the body. If left undetected, it can lead to further complications involving organ damage such as heart, lungs, and eyes. Timely detection of diabetes helps obtain the right medication, diet, and exercise plan to lead a healthy life.

Purpose: This study aims to explore the relationship between soy food consumption and gastric cancer (GC) risk, accounting for infection status.
Materials And Methods: We analyzed data from patients with GC and healthy individuals prospectively enrolled by 6 hospitals between 2016 and 2018. Dietary intake was evaluated using questionnaires that categorized seven dietary habits and 19 food groups.

Extended shortwave infrared (eSWIR) photodetectors that employ solution-processable semiconductors have attracted attention for use in applications such as ranging, night vision, and gas detection. Colloidal quantum dots (CQDs) are promising materials with facile bandgap tunability across the visible-to-mid-infrared wavelengths. However, toxic elements, such as Hg and Pb, and the slow response time of CQD-based IR photodetectors, limit their commercial viability.

The widespread use of plastic in food packaging provides significant challenges due to its non-biodegradability and the risk of hazardous chemicals seeping into food and the environment. This highlights the pressing need to come up with alternatives to traditional plastic that prioritize environmental sustainability, food quality, and safety. The current study presents an up-to-date examination of micro/nano plastic (MP/NP) consumption and their associated toxicity to human health, while also considering bioplastic as safer and eco-friendly alternative materials for packaging.

: Anton syndrome is arare stroke syndrome that develops after damage to both occipital lobes, leading to cortical blindness and visual anosognosia. This report describes the rehabilitation course and functional progress of a 42-year-old man diagnosed with Anton syndrome.: The patient started visual stimulation therapy using a color looming disc 5 months after Anton syndrome onset, for 30 minutes a day, 5 times a week for 4 weeks, totaling 20 sessions.

Wearable piezoelectric nanogenerators (PENGs) are increasingly significant in healthcare and energy harvesting applications due to their ability to convert mechanical energy into electrical signals. In this study, we developed PENGs by incorporating crab shell powder (CS-NFs) into electrospun polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) nanofibers to enhance their piezoelectric properties. The PVDF-CS-NFs (PC-NFs) composites were evaluated for structural, thermal, and piezoelectric performance.

Vaccine science, nanotechnology, and immunotherapy are at the forefront of cancer treatment strategies, each offering significant potential for enhancing tumor-specific immunity and establishing long-lasting immune memory to prevent tumor recurrence. Despite the promise of these personalized and precision-based anti-cancer approaches, challenges such as immunosuppression, suboptimal immune activation, and T-cell exhaustion continue to hinder their effectiveness. The limited clinical success of cancer vaccines often stems from difficulties in identifying effective antigens, efficiently targeting immune cells, lymphoid organs, and the tumor microenvironment, overcoming immune evasion, enhancing immunogenicity, and avoiding lysosomal degradation.

Background: Oral anticoagulants (OACs) are essential for the prevention and treatment of thromboembolic disorders, but bleeding, a major complication, can have a fatal impact on the patient's treatment.
Objectives: We aimed to estimate the nationwide, real-world incidence rate of bleeding in patients taking OACs and confirm the incidence by indications and risk factors.
Methods: This cross-sectional study identified OAC users from April 1 to December 31, in both 2019 and 2020, using the HIRA-NPS database.

We aimed to compare the associations of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) with coronary artery calcification (CAC). Patients who simultaneously underwent ultrasonography to diagnose hepatic steatosis and cardiac computed tomography to detect CAC were included. The presence and severity of CAC were defined with CAC-score thresholds of > 0 and > 300, respectively, and patients were divided into the following groups: no MASLD or MAFLD (reference), MASLD-only, MAFLD-only, and overlapping groups.

The NPR1 (nonexpressor of pathogenesis-related genes 1) is a key regulator of the salicylic-acid-mediated immune response caused by pathogens in Arabidopsis thaliana. Mutations C150Y and H334Y in the BTB/ANK domains of NPR1 inhibit the defense response, and transcriptional co-activity with enhanced disease susceptibility 1 (EDS1) has been revealed experimentally. This study examined the conformational changes and reduced NPR1-EDS1 interaction upon mutation using a molecular dynamics simulation.
