Experimental studies of chronic noise exposure in modern urban life testified about oxidative stress due to the corresponding hormones effects leading to accumulation of reactive oxygen species and endothelial dysfunction. This study aims to evaluate the protective effect of α2-adrenoblockers to modulate oxidative stress and corticosterone levels due to chronic noise exposure. To achieve this, we examined the effects of beditin (2-aminothiozolyl-1,4-benzodioxane) and mesedin (2-(2-methyl-amino-thiozolyl)-1,4-benzodioxane hydrochloride), along with changes in corticosterone, Ca2 + content, and morphological alterations in various tissues under noise-induced stress.

Objectives: The aim of the study is to compare the clinical efficacy of the application of "Armenicum" paste as an adjunct to SRP for the non-surgical treatment of patients with periodontitis.
Methods: The current RCT prospective study was conducted on 157 patients with chronic periodontitis. The patients were blind randomly assigned into two groups: Group A (SRP + Armenicum" paste) 81 patients (42 males and 39 females, 37 to 68 years) and Group B (SRP) 76 patients (39 males and 37 females, 37 to 68 years).

This study aimed to present a complete overview of the trends, difficulties, and improvements in dental treatment for children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder through rigorous bibliometric analysis. The dimensional database field was chosen to enable the inclusion and recall of the greatest number of relevant entries. All peer-reviewed international journals published between 2004 and 2023 were included in this study.

We report for the first time whole-genome sequencing of four multidrug-resistant sequence type (ST) 307 recovered from patients in two hospitals in Armenia. Comparative genomic analysis revealed that the isolates were closely related, with a maximum of 39 single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) differences in the core genome. All Armenian isolates carried the integrative and conjugative element ICE4, which bears the yersiniabactin locus, and shared a common evolutionary origin, diverging around 2005 (95% CI: 1999 to 2011).

Functional and molecular alterations in the cerebellum are among the most widely recognised associates of autism spectrum disorders (ASD). As a critical computational hub of the brain, the cerebellum controls and coordinates a range of motor, affective and cognitive processes. Despite well-described circuits and integrative mechanisms, specific changes that underlie cerebellar impairments in ASD remain elusive.

In the period of increasing prevalence of metabolic disorders such as obesity and diabetes, healthcare professionals are facing significant challenges. Therefore, an accurate global assessment of insulin resistance is of utmost importance. Current medical research is focused on identifying an easily accessible and reproducible gold-standard surrogate marker for insulin resistance.

Introduction: The effective techniques of surgical intervention that ensure the desired level of weight reduction outcomes (decreased level of obesity) not always improve QOL outcomes, explained by a range of post-surgery complications. There are the specific complications, strongly impacting the QOL of the patients after bariatric surgery and increasing postoperative comorbidity.
Aim: The aim of this retrospective case control study was to evaluate the relative safety of primary LSG performed with standard and modified LSG techniques according to the Clavien-Dindo complication grading system and the rate of long-term complications in patients with BMI>40.

Background: Fixed dental prostheses (FDP) can affect the production of inflammatory cytokines causing damage to periodontal tissues. A systematic review and meta-analysis was carried out with the following two objectives: (1) to determine the prevalence and function of the different inflammatory cytokines present in gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) of teeth with metal-ceramic (M/C) and all-ceramic (A-Cs) prostheses, and (2) to analyze and compare the levels of inflammatory cytokines in GCF of teeth with M/C and A-Cs prostheses.
Methods: The protocol followed PRISMA and Cochrane guidelines and was registered in the OSF:10.

The spread of the African swine fever virus (ASF virus) genotype ii in the Eurasian region has been very successful and often inexplicable. The virus spreads rapidly and persists in areas with wild boar populations, but areas without feral pig populations are also affected. The virus has shown the ability to survive for a long time in the environment without a population of susceptible hosts, both pigs and Ornithodoros soft ticks.

Access to essential health services is a basic human right, yet many cancer patients living in conflict-affected regions face multiple obstacles to service use. The (former) Nagorno-Karabakh Republic was a conflict-affected region in the South Caucasus populated predominantly by ethnic Armenians. Multiple acute armed conflicts, the recent military occupation of the region, and the prolonged military blockade of the Lachin Corridor (a humanitarian corridor connecting Nagorno-Karabakh to Armenia) exacerbated existing social, health, economic, and political fragilities in this region.

The key contributors to its pathogenesis encompass an unhealthy lifestyle, dysregulation of the sympathetic nervous system, alterations in the activity of adrenergic receptors, disruptions in sodium metabolism, structural and functional abnormalities in the vascular bed, as well as endothelial dysfunction, low-grade inflammation, oxidative stress etc. Despite extensive research into the mechanisms of arterial hypertension development over the centuries, its pathogenesis remains incompletely understood, and the selection of an effective treatment strategy continues to pose a significant challenge.

Purpose: To evaluate and assess the indicators of bone metabolism markers osteocalcin and -Cross-Laps in blood serum as a tool for monitoring bone regeneration and determining the time of implantation in patients after mandibulectomy and reconstruction of a free fibular flap with subsequent endosteal implants.
Materials And Methods: Forty-eight patients in a 6-year period participated in this study, due to resection for tumors. All patients underwent reconstruction with fibula free flap after tumor resection, 4-6 months after osteoectomy, dental implants were installed with further orthopedic rehabilitation.

Viper bites pose a significant public health issue in Armenia, even within urban areas, often resulting in clotting disorders, hypofibrinogenemia, and tissue necrosis in humans. This study investigates histopathological changes in various tissues during mice envenomation by West-Asian blunt-nosed viper (Macrovipera lebetina obtusa) venom, as well as the recovery process aided by experimental antivenom derived from sheep. The high venom dose caused substantial damage to the heart, lungs, liver, and kidneys in mice, indicating systemic harm.

Purpose: Prosthetics for patients after oncological resection of the upper jaw is a complex problem associated with the physiological and anatomical separation of the oral cavity and the nasal/paranasal region. This study reports the clinical results of the use of the zygomatic implants for prosthetic rehabilitation in patients with maxillectomy due to upper jaw tumors.
Materials And Methods: The study included 16 patients who underwent prosthetic rehabilitation using a zygomatic implant after maxillectomy period from 2021 to 2023.

We aimed to investigate the role of pre-, peri- and neonatal risk factors in the development of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) among Armenian children with the goal of detecting and addressing modifiable risk factors to reduce ASD incidence. For this purpose a retrospective case-control study using a random proportional sample of Armenian children with ASD to assess associations between various factors and ASD was conducted. The study was approved by the local ethical committee, and parental written consent was obtained.

Background: Colorectal cancer is among the most common cancers in the world, and splenic flexure colon cancer accounts for about 2-5% of them. There is still no consensus on the surgical treatment of splenic flexure colon cancer (SFCC), and the extent of surgical resection and lymph node dissection for SFCC is still controversial.
Aim: To compare the postoperative and long-term oncologic outcomes of extended right colectomy (ERC), segmental colectomy (SC) and left colectomy (LC) for SFCC.
