Protective effects of wheat germ oil against erectile and endothelial dysfunction in streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats.

Our aim was to investigate the protective effect of wheat germ oil (WGO) at different doses on diabetes mellitus (DM)-induced erectile and endothelial dysfunction. Twenty-four male Wistar rats weighing 250-300 g were divided into four groups as; control group treated with saline, DM group, DM group treated with 3 ml/kg WGO (DM + 3WGO group), DM group treated with 6 ml/kg WGO. Type 1 DM was induced by intraperitoneal injection of 60 mg/kg streptozotocin (STZ).

Objectives: The study aimed to assess the haemodynamic changes of laparoscopic adrenalectomy (LA) in geriatric patients with pheochromocytoma (PHEO). To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study to evaluate the haemodynamic outcomes of LA in this patient population.

Methods: A total of 204 PORs who underwent ovulation induction for in vitro fertilization, cryopreservation of all embryos available, and frozen embryo transfer cycle were retrospectively analyzed. Of those, 146 received single FPS, and 58 received DOS.

Purpose: To compare surgical outcomes and intraoperative and postoperative complications of big-bubble deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK) in patients with and without a history of previous corneal collagen crosslinking (CXL) for keratoconus.

Methods: Patients with keratoconus who underwent DALK surgery with big-bubble technique between January 2013 and January 2018 were retrospectively reviewed. Operative findings, intraoperative and postoperative complications, and visual and refractive outcomes were recorded.

Determination of Pentraxin-3, Interleukin-8 and Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor Levels in Patients with Gastric Adenocarcinoma.

Introduction And Aim: The purpose of this study was to determine the value, in terms of diagnosis, resectability and prognosis of pentraxin-3 (PTX3), interleukin-8 (IL-8) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in cases of gastric adenocarcinoma, an important condition both worldwide and in Turkey, and to determine their levels in order to contribute to elucidating the pathogenesis of the disease.

Materials And Methods: Serum was separated from blood specimens collected from 45 patients diagnosed with gastric adenocarcinoma and from a 30-member healthy control group. Serum PTX3, IL-8 and VEGF levels were studied by ELISA method.

In our study, we aimed to reveal that COVID-19 infection affects the endocrine system and triggers subacute thyroiditis (SAT) in the acute period.

Material And Method: In our retrospective study, the ear-nose-throat examination, internal diseases consultation (investigation of COVID-19 symptoms and polymerase chain reaction [PCR] test), routine blood tests, T3, T4, thyroid-stimulating hormone, antithyroglobulin (anti-TG), antithyroid peroxidase (anti-TPO), thyroid scintigraphy, and thyroid ultrasonography results of 5 patients who applied to the otorhinolaryngology clinic due to complaints of neck pain and odynophagia between April 2020 and February 2021 were examined.

Immunolocalization of Fertilin β, IZUMO1, and P34H in Ram Spermatozoa.

According to various reports, current methods of sperm freezing destroy the integrity of the sperm plasma membrane and acrosome. This study aimed to determine the changes in the existence and location of three proteins, namely fertilin β, IZUMO1, and P34H, in ram spermatozoa. By using frozen-thawed spermatozoa, ejaculated fresh spermatozoa, and testicular and epididymal spermatozoa (obtained from caput, corpus, and caudal regions), the localizations of the mentioned proteins were performed using signal labeling with indirect immunofluorescence, and the quantification of these proteins was compared using Western blot analyses.
