Background: The oral cavity is a unique environment where wound healing needs to occur in the presence of heavily contaminated oral fluid often leading to infections at the suture site. Topical antimicrobial agents have proven to be effective in controlling intraoral infections. One such antimicrobial combination is Metronidazole-Chlorhexidine which has commonly been used to treat oral ulcers and gingival inflammation; however, there are no studies of its use in the healing of oral incisions.

Background: Cleft lip and/or palate (CL ± P) or isolated cleft palate (CP) are the most common congenital malformations of the face. Although there have been advances in prenatal diagnosis and the discovery of genetic markers, there has been no breakthrough in the identification of parents at risk of giving birth to a child with a cleft.
Aims: To determine a possible phenotypic difference in the craniofacial morphology of parents of children with CL ± P and to investigate whether cephalometric analysis can help identify parents at risk of giving birth to a child with a cleft.

Dental caries is a common problem in adolescents, leading to permanent loss of teeth or cavitation. Caries is a continuous process wherein demineralization and remineralization occur regularly. Hydroxyapatite (HA) is one of the most biocompatible and bioactive materials, as it closely resembles the mineral composition of teeth.

Ossifying fibroma, also the cement ossifying fibroma radiographically, represents a well-demarcated mixed radiolucency/radio-opacity with smooth and often sclerotic borders. These lesions are usually solitary and most commonly seen in the mandible; cases in the maxilla have also reported. Histologically, they contain a relatively avascular cellular fibrous stroma with reticular bone trabeculae and cementum-like spherules.

Ankylosis is one of the most disruptive maladies affecting the masticatory system with trauma being the most common cause. Pseudoankylosis though uncommon can cause functional and psychological discomforts for the patient. Described here is operative management of a case of posttraumatic pseudoankylosis in a 27-year-old female, having fractured condylar head dislocated anteriorly and medially, with eventual fusion to sigmoid region.

Purpose: The conventional alveoloplasty approach which uses manual equipment results in more resorption of the underlying alveolar ridge that makes denture prosthesis unstable. The goal of this study was to compare results of piezosurgery alveoloplasty to those of conventional alveoloplasty.
Materials And Methods: This was an in-vivo comparative study consisting of ten edentulous individuals who needed alveoloplasty due to bilateral bony projection.

Introduction: The aim of this study was to analyze the anatomic crowns of the maxillary and mandibular dentition concerning the mesiodistal, buccolingual measurements which will be used to establish normative data as a part of comprehensive study being carried out to determine the depth of the cervical abrasion (CA) of the individuals by predicting the CA Index of Treatment Needs (CAITN) score.
Materials And Methods: A newly developed instrument termed as CAITN probe was used to measure CA of the tooth more quantitatively. The mesiodistal and buccolingual width of all the 14 maxillary and mandibular teeth from the right second permanent molar to the left second permanent molar of the study sample was measured.

The present study aims to synthesize and characterize two quaternary ammonium (QAM) based monomers such as - dimethyl-hexadecyl-methacryloxyethyl-ammonium iodide (DHMAI) and 2-dimethyl-2-dodecyl-1-methacryloxyethyl ammonium iodine (DDMAI) and assess their cytotoxicity and antimicrobial properties. The study also aims to incorporate the optimized concentration of these monomers as copolymerizing monomers into conventional Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) denture base resin and evaluate their suitability for prosthetic applications. DHMAI and DDMAI monomers were synthesized through a Menschutkin reaction and their chemical structure was characterized using FT-IR and H-NMR spectroscopy.

The study aimed to evaluate the tissue-dissolving ability of papain and bromelain with respect to that of sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) at the temperatures of 25°C and 60°C. The study also assessed the effects of these proteolytic agents on radicular dentine microhardness. Warming NaOCl, papain and bromelain solutions resulted in significant tissue dissolution at all time intervals (p < 0.

Introduction: Patients diagnosed with head and neck cancer are often subjected to an array of unprecedented challenges, which have seldom been scrutinized in other cancers, such as prolonged restrictions in their capaci-ty to breathe, speak, and swallow, considerable deformity, and an alleviated risk of death. These predicaments have consequential repercussions on the psychological well-being of patients, and they debilitate the mental, social, and financial facet of not only the patient's but also of the caregiver's lives, placing them in a state of constant uncertainty while also deteriorating their physical and mental health. Aim of the study was to assess the burden on the caregiver and their quality of life (QOL) using the Caregiver Quality of Life Index-Cancer (CQOLC) scale by comparing the sali-vary cortisol levels of caregivers at different intervals of the radiotherapy session.

Newly introduced provisional crowns and fixed dental prostheses (FDP) materials should exhibit good physical and mechanical properties necessary to serve the purpose of their fabrication. The aim of this systematic literature review and meta-analysis is to evaluate the articles comparing the physical and mechanical properties of 3D-printed provisional crown and FDP resin materials with CAD/CAM (Computer-Aided Designing/Computer-Aided Manufacturing) milled and conventional provisional resins. Indexed English literature up to April 2022 was systematically searched for articles using the following electronic databases: MEDLINE-PubMed, Web of Science (core collection), Scopus, and the Cochrane library.

Introduction The purpose of this study was to evaluate which of the three positions on the tragus (superior, middle, and inferior), when connected to the inferior border of the ala of the nose, was the most parallel to the natural occlusal plane in dentate patients, to correlate the level of the naturally existing occlusal plane with the ala-tragal line when the tragus was divided into three portions (superior, middle, and inferior), and to determine which position in the tragus occlusal plane is the most parallel. The study also evaluated the correlation between the variation of arch forms and the relative parallelism of the occlusal plane to the ala-tragal line at different tragal levels. Methods This study included 1405 subjects between the ages of 18 and 35 years.
