Background: Snails of the Lymnaeidae family are the intermediate hosts of Fasciola species, the causative agents of fascioliasis. The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence of Fasciola species in lymnaeid snails and to investigate the association of geoclimatic factors and Fasciola species distribution in northwestern provinces of Iran using geographical information system (GIS) data.
Methods: A total of 2000 lymnaeid snails were collected from 33 permanent and seasonal habitats in northwestern Iran during the period from June to November 2021.

Background And Aim: Malnutrition among intensive care unit (ICU) patients is associated with a higher risk of mortality and prolonged hospitalization. However, the influence of malnutrition on severe outcomes of ICU patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is unclear. By evaluating the effect of malnutrition on the outcomes of COVID-19 in the ICU in older adult patients, this study will contribute to new knowledge of assessing the nutritional status and recovery of these patients.

Successful gene therapy relies on carriers to transfer genetic materials with high efficiency and low toxicity in a targeted manner. To enhance targeted cell binding and uptake, we developed and synthesized a new gene delivery vector based on graphene oxide (GO) modified by branched polyethyleneimine (BPEI) and folic acid (FA). The GO-PEI-FA nanocarriers exhibit lower toxicity compared to unmodified PEI, as well as having the potential to efficiently condense and protect pDNA.

This study focused on using for phytoremediation to eliminate total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPHs) and heavy metals (HMs) like cadmium (Cd), chromium (Cr), lead (Pb), and nickel (Ni) from oil-contaminated soil. Conducted over six months at a field-scale without artificial pollutants, soil samples were analyzed using gas chromatography‒mass spectrometry (GC‒MS) for TPHs and inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectroscopy (ICP‒OES) for HMs. Results after six months revealed that plots with plants had significantly higher average removal percentages for TPHs (61.

Global mental health services face challenges such as stigma and a shortage of trained professionals, particularly in low- and middle-income countries, which hinder access to high-quality care. Mobile health interventions, commonly referred to as mHealth, have shown to have the capacity to confront and solve most of the challenges within mental health services. This paper conducted a comprehensive investigation in 2024 to identify all review studies published between 2000 and 2024 that investigate the advantages of mHealth in mental health services.

Purpose: The current candidate gene association study aims to investigate tag SNPs from the TACR1 gene as pharmacogenetic predictors of response to the antiemetic guidelines-recommended, NK-1 receptor antagonist-based, triple antiemetic regimens.
Methods: A set of eighteen tag SNPs of TACR1 were genotyped in breast cancer patients receiving anthracycline and cyclophosphamide (with/without docetaxel) applying real-time PCR-HRMA. Data analysis for 121 ultimately enrolled patients was initiated by defining haplotype blocks using PHASE v.

The use of tobacco will lead to the littering of a large number of filters, and the leakage of pollutants from them into the urban environment is a serious concern. The aim of this study was to analyze the leakage of heavy metals from filter and estimate the annual concentration of pollution leakage in different waste routes and different climatic conditions. The results showed that the highest and lowest density of filter in the studied urban environment were 0.

In this paper, a new tridentate Schiff base ligand (L) with nitrogen donor atoms and its cadmium(II) complexes with the general formula of CdLX (X=Cl, Br, I, SCN, N , NO ) have been synthesized and characterized by physical and spectral (FT/IR, UV-Vis, Mass, and H, C NMR spectroscopies) methods. Also nano-structured cadmium chloride and bromide complexes were synthesized by sonochemical method and then used to prepare nanostructured cadmium oxide confirmed by XRD and SEM techniques. Thermal behavior of the compounds was studied in the temperature range of 25 to 900 °C under N atmosphere at a heating rate of 20 °C/ min.

Background: The timing of coronary angiography in patients with non-ST elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) needs to be well defined. In this study, based on the timing of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), we evaluated the incidence of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) in NSTEMI patients.
Methods: In this longitudinal study, we included 156 NSTEMI patients who underwent a PCI at three time points, including <12 hr.
Background: Rubella and measles are two highly contagious viral childhood diseases.
