Background: Dental Pulp Stem Cells (DPSCs) possess a remarkable ability for tissue differentiation, making them highly efficient in tissue regeneration and inflammation regulation. This systematic study proposes to find an answer to the question, "Do DPSCs have the ability to regenerate and rehabilitate nerve tissue?"

Methods: This systematic review was conducted based on Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) criteria, and the principle of non-bias was respected. All the articles from 2014 to 2024 were extracted from the Web of Science, PubMed, and Scopus databases.

Anti-cancer activity of secreted aspartyl proteinase protein from Candida tropicalis on human cervical cancer HeLa cells.

Cervical cancer is the fourth leading cause of cancer-related death in women worldwide. Microbial products are valuable sources of anti-cancer drugs. The aim of this study was to isolate secreted aspartyl proteinase protein from Candida tropicalis, investigate its inhibitory effect on human cervical cancer HeLa cells, and analyze the expression profiling of selected nuclear stem cell-associated transcription factors.

Development of a Recombinant Protein-Based Immunoassay for Detection of Antibodies Against Karolinska Institute and Washington University Polyomaviruses.

To develop polyomavirus VP1 recombinant protein-based immunoassay, the expression of two polyomavirus (Karolinska Institute Polyomavirus; KIPyV, and Washington University Polyomavirus; WUPyV) VP1s in insect cells was investigated using an improved baculovirus system (BacMagic). The reliability of the purified VP1 to serve as antigens in serological tests was confirmed by the establishment of an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Two panels of serum samples were used, with Panel I comprising 60 sera (20 KIPyV-positive, 20 WUPyV-positive, and 20 negative) and Panel II consisting of 134 sera with unknown status.

Food insecurity and the risk of sleep disorders in people living with HIV/AIDS as a neglected health concern: A national survey in Iran.

Food insecurity (FI) and sleep problems are major modifiable health issues among people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWH), and there is limited knowledge about their prevalence among this underrepresented population. Our study aimed to assess the relationship between FI and sleep problems as important environmental factors affecting PLWH in Iran. The national survey was conducted on 1185 confirmed HIV-positive patients who attended consulting centers in 15 geographically diverse provinces in Iran, during 2021-2022.

The global prevalence of mental health disorders among runaway and homeless youth: A meta-analysis.

A meta-analysis was performed to identify the pooled prevalence of mental health disorders (MHDs) among runaway and homeless youth (RHY). Relevant studies published between December 1, 1985, and October 1, 2023, were identified in the PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library databases. A preliminary screening of 11,266 papers resulted in the inclusion of 101 studies.

This study aimed to develop a highly efficient nanocomposite composed of magnetic chitosan/molybdenum disulfide (CS/MoS/FeO) for the removal of three polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs)-pyrene, anthracene, and phenanthrene. Novelty was introduced through the innovative synthesis procedure and the utilization of magnetic properties for enhanced adsorption capabilities. Additionally, the greenness of chitosan as a sorbent component was emphasized, highlighting its biodegradability and low environmental impact compared to traditional sorbents.

Linc00513 sponges miR-7 to modulate TGF-β signaling in azoospermia.

Azoospermia, or the complete absence of sperm in the ejaculate, affects about 1% of men worldwide and is a significant fertility challenge. This study investigates Linc00513, a long non-coding RNA, and its potential role in regulating the TGF-β signaling pathway, a key player in spermatogenesis, in the context of azoospermia. We show that Linc00513 expression is significantly lower in testicular tissues from azoospermic patients than in HS1 controls.

The effect of vitamin E on ethanol-induced liver damage in rats.

Ethanol can have harmful effects on the development of the embryos. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of vitamin E, as an antioxidant, on changes in liver tissue damaged by ethanol in rats. Rats were divided into 11 groups, control, naive, sunflower oil (oil), ethanol, vitamin E (100, 200, and 400 mg/kg), ethanol + vitamin E (100, 200, and 400 mg/kg), and oily ethanol.

Objective: Anthracycline administration in children is associated with cardiac dysfunction. Speckle-tracking echocardiography (STE) can detect subclinical cardiac damage that may go undetected by conventional two-dimensional (2D) echocardiography. This study aims to investigate medium-term anthracycline cardiotoxicity using STE and determine a safer administrable level of anthracyclines (ACs).

The effect of climatic variables and techno-structural factors on the water pollution caused by nicotine leakage from littered cigarette butts.

Nicotine is one of the main pollutants in cigarette smoke that trapped in the filter. Nicotine leakage from cigarette butts is one of the concerns associated with this hazardous waste. In this study, the concentration of nicotine leaked from cigarette butts into the urban environment was investigated under the influence of three parameters including rainfall, density, and the durability of the littered cigarette butt.

Prevalence and risk factors of latent tuberculosis infection in hemodialysis patients in southwest Iran.

Introduction: Tuberculosis (TB) is a significant global health concern, particularly in developing countries. Diagnosing latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) in hemodialysis patients is crucial because of the risk of developing active tuberculosis in this population due to attenuated immune response. Herein, we assessed the prevalence of LTBI in hemodialysis patients.

Antimicrobial, Anti-inflammatory, and Wound Healing Properties of Leaf Methanolic Extract Ointment on Burn Wound Infection Induced by Methicillin-Resistant in Rats.

Materials And Methods: In a research experiment, 48 male Wistar rats were anesthetized and second-degree burns were induced on their backs. The rats' wounds were then uniformly inoculated with MRSA. Various treatments were applied to the burn wounds daily, including Myrtus ointment, silver nanoparticles, silver nanoparticles-Myrtus ointment, silver sulfadiazine-Myrtus ointment, silver sulfadiazine 1%, mupirocin ointment, and a positive control.

Study of the impact of structural factors and cleaning efficiency in reducing hazardous litter density and its related pollution in urban environment.

Cigarette filter is the most common hazardous litter that contains many pollutants including PAHs. The durability of this litter in the urban environment has an important effect on the rate of pollutant leakage. In this study, the leakage rate of PAHs from the littered cigarette filters was estimated by considering the affecting parameters on their durability in the urban environment.
