During the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, low dose radiation therapy (LDRT) was proposed as a potentially effective treatment method. To minimize potential toxicity, the initial treatment approach involved a few mGy of adapting radiation followed by a single 250 mGy whole lung challenging dose. However, antiviral drugs were also introduced as a promising treatment option, which were thought to have the potential to revolutionize the management of the crisis.

Importance: Sexual dysfunction in individuals suffering from depression may be both a symptom of the disorder and a side effect of antidepressants. To date, and to our knowledge, no randomized controlled trials have demonstrated the effectiveness of acupressure on sexual function in women of reproductive age who take antidepressants.
Objective: This study aims to evaluate the effect of acupressure on sexual function in women of reproductive age taking Selective Serotonin Reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs).

Electrochemical biosensors have revolutionized the detection of biomarkers related to depression and the quantification of antidepressant drugs. These biosensors leverage nanomaterials and advanced assay designs to achieve high sensitivity and selectivity for clinically relevant analytes. Key neurotransmitters implicated in depression, such as serotonin, dopamine, and glutamate, can be accurately measured via biosensors, providing insights into the effects of antidepressant treatments on neurotransmission.

Radiation protection in dental radiography can be achieved by adjusting the image field size, exposure, and filtration parameters, and using protective lead shields. The aim of this study is to assess the radiation dose delivered to the thyroid in a phantom irradiated by an orthopantomogram (OPG) system using Geant4 simulation toolkit. Recently, researchers have been trying to find an alternative material to the lead thyroid shield so that the OPG image has minimal metal artifacts.

A progressive kidney disease associated with inflammation and the immune system is called membrane glomerulonephritis (MGN). The present study investigatedthe combination of cyclosporine and fedratinib on Th17/regulatory T cells (Tregs) in rat models of MGN. Rats were given several doses of anti-Fx1A to induce MGN, and the resultant five groups of rats were fedratinib-cyclosporin receiving PHN rats, fedratinib, cyclosporin, and healthy rats.

Adsorption remains a widely utilized and effective technique for removing chemical contaminants from polluted water, and novel adsorbents are currently in the process of being developed. The presence of antibiotics residues in aqueous effluents is a potential concern due to their potential adverse effects on living organisms. In this work, perylene tetracarboxylic acid-functionalized expanded graphite (PTCA-EG) was synthesized as a metal-free adsorbent and its potential for efficient treatment of contaminated wastewater with cefalexin (CLX) antibiotic was studied.

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a prevalent health condition characterized by gradual kidney function loss. Early detection is crucial for the effective management and treatment of CKD. A promising biomarker for various diseases, including chronic kidney disease, is microRNAs (miRNAs), which are becoming increasingly important due to their stability and differential expression in various disease-related states, including CKD.

In the present study, arginine-glycine-aspartic acid peptide (RGD) surface functionalized liposomes (Lips) were formulated for the concomitant targeted delivery of two antineoplastic drugs, namely curcumin (Cur) and 5-fluorouracil (5FU) to breast cancer cells. The Lips' measured size values where 50-100 nm by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and 169 ± 10.2 nm by dynamic light scattering (DLS), which fall within the desired range required for drug delivery purposes.

Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) is a clinically and biologically heterogeneous disease with a variable clinical course. The induction of a generalized state of immuno-suppression, leading to susceptibility to infections and the failure of anti-tumor immune responses, is a key feature of the clinical course of CLL. In addition to B-cell receptor (BCR) signaling in CLL, several receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs) have been reported to be constitutively active in leukemic B cells, resulting in promoted survival and resistance to apoptosis induced by chemotherapy.

Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) is a heterogeneous blood cancer characterized by the uncontrolled growth of immature lymphoid cells due to dysregulated signaling pathways. It is the most common pediatric cancer, with high cure rates in children, but significantly lower survival rates in adults. Current theranostic strategies, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and nanomedicine, aim to improve detection and treatment precision but are limited by side effects, drug resistance, high costs, and stability issues.
