In this prospective study, we evaluated the diagnostic yield and safety of two endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) biopsy techniques - mediastinal cryobiopsy (EBUS-MCB) and Franseen tip needle biopsy (EBUS-ANB) - in patients with undiagnosed mediastinal lymphadenopathy. The study included 30 patients who underwent both EBUS-MCB and EBUS-ANB, with four biopsies taken from each patient using both methods. The results demonstrated that EBUS-MCB provided a higher diagnostic yield (96.

Purpose: Intensive care units (ICUs) have significant palliative care needs but lack a reliable care framework. This umbrella review addresses them by synthesising palliative care practices provided at end-of-life to critically ill patients and their families before, during, and after ICU admission.

Methods: Seven databases were systematically searched for systematic reviews, and the umbrella review was conducted according to the guidelines laid out by the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI).

Objectives: This umbrella review will summarize palliative and end-of-life care practices in peri-intensive care settings by reviewing systematic reviews in intensive care unit (ICU) settings. Evidence suggests that integrating palliative care into ICU management, initiating conversations about care goals, and providing psychological and emotional support can significantly enhance patient and family outcomes.

Methods: The Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) methodology for umbrella reviews will be followed.

Most tumours of the tracheobronchial tree are malignant. Benign tumours such as hamartoma are infrequent and generally intra-parenchymal. Here we present a case of a 65-year-old male patient who presented with a purely endobronchial lobulated mass lesion in the left main bronchus.

Background: Endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS-TBNA) is considered the investigation of choice for sampling mediastinal nodes. A major drawback of EBUS-TBNA is its lower diagnostic yield for lymphoma and benign diseases. EBUS-guided mediastinal cryobiopsy (EBUS-MCB) is a novel technique that provides larger nodal biopsy samples, with an acceptable safety profile.

Background: Though reports of neurological manifestations of COVID-19 have emerged from various parts of the world, the cohorts reported are from the West and mostly derived from electronic databases. Next-generation DNA sequencing is currently limited by an inability to accurately count the number of input DNA molecules. Molecular counting is particularly needed when accurate quantification is required for diagnostic purposes, such as in single gene non-invasive prenatal testing (sgNIPT) and liquid biopsy. We developed Quantitative Counting Template (QCT) molecular counting to reconstruct the number of input DNA molecules using sequencing data.
