Objective: This study aims to assess the efficacy and safety of tricuspid valve (TV) transcatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER) procedures using the MitraClip or TriClip device in high-risk patients with severe secondary tricuspid regurgitation (TR) and provide Turkish-specific data on procedural outcomes and clinical follow-up.
Methods: This study enrolled 42 high-risk patients with severe secondary TR who underwent transcatheter edge-to-edge repair using either the MitraClip or TriClip device. Patient selection criteria included severe TR, high surgical risk (EuroScore ≥ 8 and Tricuspid Regurgitation Impact Severity Score (TRI-SCORE) ≥ 6), symptomatic despite medical therapy, and anatomical suitability for TriClip.

Introduction: This study aims to compare the addition of SGLT2 inhibitors or doubling the diuretic dose in patients receiving treatment with beta-blockers, angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEi), or angiotensin receptor blockers (ARB), as well as mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists (MRA), for heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) who present to the emergency department with decompensated heart failure.
Methods: This study is a single-center and prospective analysis. A total of 980 decompensated heart failure (HFrEF) patients receiving optimal medical therapy (OMT) according to the 2021 European heart failure guidelines were randomized in a 2:1 ratio into the furosemide and empagliflozin treatment arms.

Objectives: Posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) is a clinic radiological disorder characterized by headache, epileptic seizure, encephalopathy, visual impairment, and focal neurological deficits. Gestational hypertension, which is a significant risk factor for PRES, may cause significant morbidity and mortality among pregnant women.
Design: Twenty-four patients with PRES caused by eclampsia who were admitted to our hospital in the last 5 years were included in this study.

Introduction: The choice of treatment for rectal cancer often differs in older and younger patients, with the rate of radiotherapy use lower among older adults. In our daily practice, when evaluating a frail older patient with rectal cancer, we usually choose to give less treatment. This may be due to concern that the patient will not be able to tolerate radiotherapy.

Smad Family Member (SMAD), a protein family responsible for transducing the signal induced by TGF-β into the nucleus, is thought to play a role in the pathology of many heart diseases. Therefore, we aimed to evaluate the influence of the SMAD1 rs1016792 polymorphism and gene expression on pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) due to congenital heart disease (CHD) in children. A total of 90 children, 45 of whom were PAH-CHD children and 45 healthy children, were included in the study.

Introduction: Single-tablet regimens (STRs) can increase treatment success and even improve the quality of life of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) patients. In this study, we aim to analyze the real-life efficacy and tolerability data of people living with HIV (PLWH) initiated on or switched to bictegravir/emtricitabine/tenofovir alafenamide fumarate (BIC/FTC/TAF) as first-line treatment.
Materials And Methods: This retrospective analysis was performed in HIV-1-positive patients who were initiated BIC/FTC/TAF in the HIV clinic between June 2020 and June 2022.

Introduction Scoliosis, a multifaceted spinal deformity commonly affecting pediatric and adolescent populations, has spurred extensive scientific inquiry to understand its origins and impacts. Early-onset scoliosis (EOS), characterized by spinal curvature exceeding 10° before the age of 10, presents a unique challenge necessitating a comprehensive understanding of its etiological factors. Within this context, the potential role of hypoxia-induced by adenoid hypertrophy in contributing to the pathogenesis of EOS has emerged as an intriguing avenue of investigation.

Purpose: Currently, there is a lack of research comparing tadalafil treatment protocols recommended during low-intensity shock wave therapy (LI-SWT) for patients with erectile dysfunction (ED) who are unresponsive to phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors (PDE5i). The objective of this study is to compare the efficacy of only LI-SWT versus LI-SWT plus 5 mg tadalafil daily versus LI-SWT plus 20 mg tadalafil alternate-day in PDE5i -resistant ED. MATERıALS AND METHODS: In this study, a cohort of 105 patients with PDE5i-resistant ED was recruited and divided into three groups labeled as A (only LI-SWT), B (LI-SWT plus 5 mg tadalafil daily), and C (LI-SWT plus 20 mg tadalafil alternate-day), comprising 27, 42, and 36 patients, respectively.

Aim: This study aimed to determine the effects of various sociodemographic variables and experiences, unhelpful beliefs about stuttering, and perceived social support on psychological well-being in stuttering adults.
Methods: Forty-five stuttering adults were included in our study, and sociodemographic data were collected using a stuttering experiences information form, the Unhelpful Thoughts and Beliefs About Stuttering (UTBAS)-6 scale, the perceived social support scale, and the Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-being Scale.
Results: It was determined that the total score of the UTBAS scale, the high scores on the fear of negative evaluation, avoidance, self-doubt and insecurity, and the hopelessness subscales, and the low scores of the perceived social support scale were correlated with lower psychological well-being results in stuttering individuals.
