In this study, the size of molten pool and the porosity of parts under different processing parameters are studied using numerical simulation. According to the results, the appropriate processing parameters were selected to simulate the temperature and residual stress distribution during the forming process of body-centered cube (BCC), face-centered cube (FCC) and rhombic dodecahedron (Dode) lattice structures. In addition, three lattice structures were fabricated via selective laser melting (SLM) technology, and quasi-static compression experiments were carried out to study their mechanical properties.

Tunneling nanotubes (TNTs) that connect cells have been recognized as a pathway for long-range intercellular transport of diverse cargoes, including viruses, lysosomes or other organelles, Ca and electrical signals. TNTs can initially be formed from thin finger-like actin assembly-driven protrusions or cell contacts and dislodgment. However, it remains unclear whether the mechanical properties of TNTs formed by these two mechanisms are the same.

The function of mitochondria as a regulator of myocyte calcium homeostasis has been extensively discussed. The aim of the present work was further clarification of the details of modulation of the functional activity of rat cardiac mitochondria by exogenous Ca ions either in the absence or in the presence of the plant flavonoid naringin. Low free Ca concentrations (40-250 nM) effectively inhibited the respiratory activity of heart mitochondria, remaining unaffected the efficacy of oxygen consumption.

The aim of this study to compare antioxidant activity and regulatory properties of several representatives of different classes of flavonoids, fisetin, apigenin, kaempferol, naringenin, naringin, using liver mitochondria and erythrocytes as research objects. In the concentration range of 2.

The oxygen-binding properties of blood were studied in male patients with insulin resistance (IR) with different levels of asprosin. The content of asprosin, parameters of blood oxygen transport function, as well as gas transmitters, nitrogen monoxide and hydrogen sulfide, were determined in the venous blood plasma. In the studied IR patients with increased blood asprosin content, impaired blood oxygenation was noted; IR patients with normal body weight had increased hemoglobin affinity for oxygen, while in IR patients with overweight and the 1st degree obesity, this parameter decreased.

Domestic violence is sequential, developmental and dynamic. The aim of this study was to examine whether, in the perceptions of students in Poland and Belarus, there is a relationship between involvement in violence and the legal and social consequences for the perpetrators. A total of 482 university students took part in the study, including 251 students from Poland and 231 students from Belarus.

Search for novel antimicrobial agents, including plant-derived flavonoids, and evaluation of the mechanisms of their antibacterial activities are pivotal objectives. The goal of this study was to compare the antihemolytic activity of flavonoids, quercetin, naringenin and catechin against sheep erythrocyte lysis induced by α-hemolysin (αHL) produced by the strain NCTC 5655. We also sought to investigate the membrane-modifying action of the flavonoids.

The results of studying the effect of particles of few-layer graphene (FLG) synthesized by self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) on the complex of strength and thermo physical properties of polymer composite products obtained by digital light processing (DLP) 3D printing are presented. It was discovered to achieve an increase in thermophysical and strength parameters of polymers modified by FLG compared with samples made on the unmodified base resin. This result was achieved due to low defectiveness, namely the absence of Stone-Wales defects in the structure of FLG due to the homogeneous distribution of FLG over the volume of the polymer in the form of highly dispersed aggregates.

Aluminum nanoparticles attract scientific interest as a promising low-cost material with strong plasmon resonance in the ultraviolet region, which can be used in various fields of photonics. In this paper, for the first time, ultraviolet luminescence of zinc oxide nanoparticles in colloid solutions and nanostructure films in the presence of plasmonic aluminum nanoparticles 60 nm in size with a metal core and an aluminum oxide shell were studied. Mixture colloids of ZnO and Al nanoparticles in isopropyl alcohol solution with concentrations from 0.

Background: COVID-19 pandemic has struck all of us suddenly and unexpectedly; it deprived the society of a sense of control over their lives on different levels. In a short period of time, it led to a number of changes in everyday life of people all over the world. In particular, these changes affected medical staff, who, all of a sudden, were burdened with new work-related responsibilities and duties.

The serious problems of conventional breast cancer therapy strategies such as drug resistance, severe side effects, and lack of selectivity prompted the development of various cold atmospheric plasma (CAP) devices. Due to its advanced technology, CAP can produce a unique environment rich in reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS), photons, charged ions, and an electric field, making it a promising revolutionary platform for cancer therapy. Despite substantial technological successes, CAP-based therapeutic systems are encounter with distinct limitations, including low control of the generated RONS, poor knowledge about its anticancer mechanisms, and challenges concerning designing, manufacturing, clinical translation, and commercialization, which must be resolved.

Background: The most common infection among young women that increases the risk of developing cervical cancer (CC) is human papillomavirus (HPV). In this study, we are going to assess whether HPV16 DNA concentration helps indicate cervical cancer progression ,As well as for age groups and their relationship to cervical cancer.
Methods: Present study included 93 adult females suffering from cervical cancer during the period from 2017 to 2020.
The aim of the present work was to elucidate the mechanisms of calcium ion-induced impairments of the ultrastructure and functional activity of isolated rat liver mitochondria in the absence and presence of a number of flavonoids in vitro. In the presence of exogenous Ca²⁺ (20-60 μM), mitochondrial heterogeneity in size and electron density markedly increased: most organelles demonstrated a swollen electron-light matrix, bigger size, elongated cristae and a reduced their number, a damaged native structure of the inner membrane up to its detachment, and some mitochondria showed a more electron-dense matrix (condensed mitochondria). The calcium-induced opening of the mitochondrial permeability transition pores (MPTP) resulted in the ultrastructural disturbances and in the effective inhibition of the respiratory activity of rat liver mitochondria.

Metallic or dielectric nano-objects change the photon local density of states of closely placed emitters, particularly when plasmon or Mie resonances are present. Depending on the shape and material of these nano-objects, they may induce either a decrease or an increase in decay rates of the excited states of the emitter. In this work, we consider the reduction of the probability of optical transitions in emitters near high-refractive index dielectric (silicon and zinc selenide) nanoparticles.

Ground beetles (Carabid beetles) may be found in virtually all of the world's habitats. They are one of the three most diverse families of extant beetles, with 34,275 species documented, and they serve as vital ecological markers in all environments. Edaphic living beetles catch and eat a wide variety of arthropods that live in the soil.
