Background: Prior studies indicate that lactylation regulates various biological mechanisms within cancer. However, lactylation-related genes (LRGs) have been found to have limited value in predicting the prognosis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). The aim of this study was to review HCC LRGs using data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA).

To investigate the antibiotic resistance of () in outpatients and to explore the consistency between genotype and phenotype of antibiotic resistance. A retrospective study on outpatients screened with urea breath test for infection in Nanjing First Hospital from April 2018 to January 2022. Patients who tested positive underwent a consented upper endoscopy, and the infection was confirmed by rapid urease test (RUT) and culture.

With the use of thoracoscopic surgery technology, one‑lung ventilation (OLV) is becoming more crucial as a basic requirement for enhanced recovery after surgery; however, it can lead to severe pulmonary injury, which is an issue for anesthesiologists. Therefore, it is important to protect pulmonary function during thoracic surgery anesthesia, particularly to protect the function of the collapsed lung. Our previous study on rabbits reported that nicorandil, a US Food and Drug Administration‑approved mitochondrial ATP‑sensitive potassium channel‑specific opener, can protect against lung injury in the collapsed lung.

The main objective of the current study is to fabricate a 3D scaffold using alginate hydrogel implemented with carbon nanoparticles (CNPs) as the filler. The SEM imaging revealed that the scaffold possesses a porous internal structure with interconnected pores. The swelling value of the scaffolds (more than 400%) provides a wet niche for bone cell proliferation and migration.

Objective: Spinal cord injury (SCI) is one of the most devastating central injuries, resulting in serious locomotor deficits. Triad1 is known to play an important role in SCI, but its effects on the inflammatory response and physiological behavior have not been thoroughly studied. This study is aimed at examining the effects of Triad1 on the inflammatory response and neuronal injury in acute SCI in rats.

The incidence of pituitary adenoma is second only to glioma and meningioma, and its incidence ranks third among intracranial tumors. Most pituitary adenomas are benign and noninvasive tumors, but invasive pituitary adenomas pose a great threat to human health. In order to explore the risk factors that affect the clinical aggressive behavior of patients with pituitary adenoma, analyze the correlation between different classification methods and clinical aggressive behavior, and lay the foundation for early judgment and individualized treatment of clinical aggressive behavior of patients with pituitary adenoma.

Introduction: To introduce the surgical approach and clinical effect of transferring the partial slips of the flexor digitorum superficialis (FDS) tendon to reconstruct the insertion of the central slip of the extensor tendon (CSET) through an established bone tunnel (BT).
Materials And Methods: From April 2019 to March 2021, nine patients (six males and three females) with the CSET insertion rupture or defect were admitted to the institution and the CSET insertion was reconstructed with partial tendon slips on both sides of the FDS. The active range of motion of the interphalangeal joint of the affected finger was measured by a goniometer, the degree of pain was evaluated by visual analogue scale (VAS), and the grip strength of the affected limb was measured by an electronic hand dynamometer.

In the past 10 years, the technology of percutaneous spine endoscopy has been continuously developed. The indications have expanded from simple lumbar disc herniation to various degenerative diseases of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. Traditional surgery for the treatment of cervical radiculopathy includes anterior cervical decompression surgery, anterior cervical decompression plus fusion surgery, and posterior limited fenestration surgery.

The therapeutic interventions of human hypertrophic scars (HHS) remain puzzle largely due to the lack of accepted models. Current HHS models are limited by their inability to mimic native scar architecture and associated pathological microenvironments. Here, we create a 3D functional HHS model by preformed cellular aggregates (PCA) bioprinting, firstly developing bioink from scar decellularized extracellular matrix (ECM) and alginate-gelatin (Alg-Gel) hydrogel with suitable physical properties to mimic the microenvironmental factors, then pre-culturing patient-derived fibroblasts in this bioink to preform the topographic cellular aggregates for sequent printing.

Background: Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been implicated in diagnosis and prognosis in various cancers. However, few lncRNA signatures have been established for prediction of gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST). We aimed to explore a lncRNA signature profile that associated with clinical relevance by mining data from Gene Expression Ominus (GEO) and Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) Program.

BACKGROUND This study aimed to investigate the therapeutic and prognostic effects of percutaneous transforaminal endoscopic decompression (PTED) for degenerative lumbar spinal stenosis (DLSS). MATERIAL AND METHODS One hundred eighty-eight patients with DLSS were randomly divided into the fenestration and the PTED group for decompression treatment. Operative time, incision length, amount of blood loss, length of hospitalization, and rates of complications in the 2 groups were compared.

Background: High-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) oxygen therapy is being increasingly used to prevent post-extubation hypoxemic respiratory failure and reintubation. However, evidence to support the use of HFNC in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients with hypercapnic respiratory failure after extubation is limited. This study was conducted to test if HFNC is non-inferior to non-invasive ventilation (NIV) in preventing post-extubation treatment failure in COPD patients previously intubated for hypercapnic respiratory failure.

Neonatal hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) is one of the main causes of death and nervous system damage in neonates. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of the Toll‑like receptor 4 (TLR4) antagonist TAK‑242 on HIE. The Rice‑Vannucci method was used for ligation of the left common carotid artery, followed by hypoxic treatment for 2.

Background: Previous randomised trials have shown an overwhelming benefit of mechanical thrombectomy for treating patients with stroke caused by large vessel occlusion of the anterior circulation. Whether endovascular treatment is beneficial for vertebrobasilar artery occlusion remains unknown. In this study, we aimed to investigate the safety and efficacy of endovascular treatment of acute strokes due to vertebrobasilar artery occlusion.

The neuronal apoptosis program associated with spinal cord injury (SCI) has a severe impact on spinal cord function, which leads to further secondary and permanent neuronal damage that may cause irreparable damage to the central nervous system. Activation of the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway is effective in reducing apoptosis and preventing SCI. Harpagide is one of the main active constituents of the iridoid class of molecules, which have neuroprotective effects after SCI.
