Evaluating the impact of modeling choices on the performance of integrated genetic and clinical models.

Purpose: The value of genetic information for improving the performance of clinical risk prediction models has yielded variable conclusions. Many methodological decisions have the potential to contribute to differential results. We performed multiple modeling experiments integrating clinical and demographic data from electronic health records (EHR) with genetic data to understand which decisions may affect performance.

Improving Nursing Students' Learning Outcomes in Neonatal Resuscitation: A Quasi-Experimental Study Comparing AI-Assisted Care Plan Learning With Traditional Instruction.

Aim: The purpose of this study is to compare the efficacy of an artificial intelligence (AI)-based care plan learning strategy with standard training techniques in order to determine how it affects nursing students' learning results in newborn resuscitation.

Methods: Seventy third-year nursing students from a state university in Türkiye participated in the study. They were split into two groups: the experimental group, which received care plans based on AI, and the control group, which received traditional instruction.

Introduction: The sense of smell is one of the most developed and important senses that forms the bond between the newborn and the mother and allows the newborn to reach the mother's breast. The sense of smell begins to form during intrauterine life, and the sense of smell can be a marking tool for a newborn baby, so that the baby can recognize both his mother and his immediate environment and develop his behaviour accordingly. This is necessary not only for feeding babies but also for them to feel safe and peaceful in their new environment.

Perceptions on circumcision for HIV prevention: an application of the health belief model in a qualitative enquiry among young men in Eswatini.

Voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC) was identified as an effective strategy in HIV prevention. Although circumcision reduces heterosexual acquisition of HIV by 60%, there is low uptake of VMMC services in Eswatini. This study applies the health belief model (HBM) in understanding perceptions of young men in Eswatini towards VMMC for HIV prevention to upscale its adoption.

Acceptability and feasibility of a urine-based tenofovir adherence assay for monitoring and providing feedback on PrEP adherence in Kenya.

Objective measures of oral PrEP adherence - especially point-of-care (POC) measures that enable real-time assessment, intervention, and feedback - have the potential to improve adherence. Our team previously developed and validated a novel urine-based POC metric of PrEP adherence. In this study, we sought to determine whether this assay is acceptable and feasible among women taking PrEP and PrEP providers in Kenya.

Our aim was to investigate the effects of an experimentally induced weakness of the different muscles (tensor fasciae latae [TFL], gluteus medius and minimus (Gmed/min), gluteus maximus [Gmax]) on the abduction force.

Pediatric Soft Tissue Sarcoma in Limb-Girdle Muscular Dystrophy: Molecular Findings and Clinical Implications.

BACKGROUND Limb-girdle muscular dystrophy recessive 1 (LGMDR1) is an autosomal recessive degenerative muscle disorder characterized by progressive muscular weakness caused by pathogenic variants in the CAPN3 gene. Desmoplastic small round cell tumors (DSRCT) are ultra-rare and aggressive soft tissue sarcomas usually in the abdominal cavity, molecularly characterized by the presence of a EWSR1::WT1 fusion transcript. Mouse models of muscular dystrophy, including LGMDR1, present an increased risk of soft tissue sarcomas.
