Aging is a complex biological process leading to impaired functions, with a variety of hallmarks. In the testis of Drosophila, the terminal epithelium region is involved in spermatid release and maturation, while its functional diversity and regulatory mechanism remain poorly understood. In this study, we performed single-cell RNA-sequencing analysis (scRNA-seq) to characterize the transcriptomes of terminal epithelium in Drosophila testes at 2-, 10 and 40-Days.

The limited efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in the treatment of advanced Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma (ESCC) poses a challenge. Recent evidence suggests that tumor cells' insensitivity to cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) contributes to drug resistance against ICIs. Here, a particular tRNA-derived fragment called tRF-3024b has been identified as playing a significant role in tumor cell resistance to CTLs.

For image-based computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis to characterize the local coronary hemodynamic environment, the accuracy depends on the flow rate which is in turn associated with outlet branches' morphology. A good flow distribution strategy is important to mitigate the effect when certain branches cannot be considered. In this study, stenotic coronary arteries from 13 patients were used to analyze the effect of missing branches and different flow distribution strategies.

This study aimed to explore the biological role and mechanism underlying the effects of colon cancer-associated transcript 2 (CCAT2), a long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) in human laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC). CCAT2 expression levels in clinical LSCC samples and TU-212 cell line were evaluated by quantitative real-time PCR. The correlation of CCAT2 expression level with clinical-pathological characteristics of patients and their prognosis was analyzed.

Introduction: Computed tomography (CT)-guided liquid material (LM) and hook-wire (HW) are usually localized for pulmonary nodules (PNs) before video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) resection, but the relative advantages of these 2 techniques remain uncertain.
Aim: This meta-analysis was conceived to juxtapose the efficacy and safety of HW localization (HWL) and LM localization (LML), both guided by CT, for the preoperative localization of PNs.
Material And Methods: The PubMed, Web of Science, and Wanfang databases were searched to identify relevant studies published as of March 2023, after which pooled analyses of study outcomes were conducted.

Background: Energy-adjusted dietary inflammatory index (E-DII) can represent daily inflammatory dietary components and chronic inflammatory response is an important pathogenesis of aging, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and frailty. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to explore the association of E-DII and frailty in older adults with NAFLD.
Methods: This cross-sectional study utilized data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2005-2016) to investigate the association between E-DII and frailty.

Background: High-grade bladder cancer (HGBC) has a higher malignant potential, recurrence and progression rate compared to low-grade phenotype. Its early symptoms are often vague, making non-invasive diagnosis using urinary biomarkers a promising approach.
Methods: The gene expression data from urine samples of patients with HGBC was extracted from the GSE68020 dataset.

Objective: Microvascular invasion (MVI) is a significant adverse prognostic indicator of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) and affects the selection of individualized treatment regimens. This study sought to establish a radiomics nomogram based on the optimal VOI of multi-sequence MRI for predicting MVI in ICC tumors.
Methods: 160 single ICC lesions with MRI scanning confirmed by postoperative pathology were randomly separated into training and validation cohorts (TC and VC).

Background: Arterial stiffness has been shown to be an independent risk factor for adverse events and all-cause mortality in patients. Although PWV is the gold standard for pulse wave velocity, its application in clinical practice is limited by the high cost and complexity. ePwv is a new, simple, non-invasive indicator of arterial stiffness.

The dendritic cell (DC) vaccine is a promising cancerimmunotherapy strategy, but its efficacy in treating the solid tumor is limited. To overcome this limitation, an oncolytic adenovirus (OAV-IL-12) was developed to enhance antigen targeting ability of adenovirus-assembled DC vaccine (DCs-CD137L/CAIX) for renal carcinoma treatment. Peritumoral administration of OAV-IL-12 increased the number of tumor-infiltrating DCs and their subsets (CD8DCs and CD103DCs).

Background: Recurrent bladder cancer is the most common type of urinary tract malignancy; nevertheless, the mechanistic basis for its recurrence is uncertain. Innovative technologies such as single-cell transcriptomics and spatial transcriptomics (ST) offer new avenues for studying recurrent tumour progression at the single-cell level while preserving spatial data.
Method: This study integrated single-cell RNA (scRNA) sequencing and ST profiling to examine the tumour microenvironment (TME) of six bladder cancer tissues (three from primary tumours and three from recurrent tumours).

Malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM) is a malignant tumor originating from the pleura, and its incidence has been increasing in recent years. Due to the insidious onset and strong local invasiveness of MPM, most patients are diagnosed in the late stage and early screening and treatment for high-risk populations are crucial. The treatment of MPM mainly includes surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy.

Acute ischemic stroke (AIS) is known to trigger a cascade of inflammatory events that induces secondary tissue damages. As a type of regulated inflammatory cell death, necroptosis is associated with AIS, whilst its regulation during neuroinflammation is not well understood. In particular, the actual function of NOD-like-receptor family pyrin domain-containing-3(NLRP3) inflammasome in cortical neuronal necroptosis still not clear.

However, MSCs from different tissue sources are heterogeneous, and therefore, the therapeutic efficacy of UC-derived MSCs as a replacement for other tissue-derived MSCs needs to be studied. To better understand the distinctions between UC-derived MSCs and MSCs derived from other tissues, we conducted a transcriptome analysis of MSCs obtained from UC and three other tissues.
