Department of Thoracic Surgery, Xuzhou Central Hospital, XuZhou Clinical School of Xuzhou Medical University, Xuzhou, Jiangsu, China.

Article Synopsis
  • The study focuses on early-stage non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), where about 30% of patients experience recurrence within 5 years, highlighting the need for effective markers to improve individualized treatment.
  • Data from multiple sources led to the development of a 13-gene signature that effectively differentiates between high-risk and low-risk patients for recurrence, validated through several cohorts with strong predictive accuracy.
  • A nomogram combining the gene signature with factors like age and histology was created to estimate recurrence-free survival, suggesting it could be a valuable tool for managing early-stage NSCLC and optimizing adjuvant therapies.

Grey preferences selection index with trimmed group preference for evaluating university dormitory renovation design.

Sci Rep

November 2024

School of Management Engineering, Xuzhou University of Technology, No. 2 Lishui Road, Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province, 221018, People's Republic of China.

Renovating old buildings is a strategic approach to resource optimization and sustainability. However, dormitory design decisions are often made by a limited panel of experts, which risks excluding student preferences-key to the design process. Expert assumptions about student needs can lead to biased outcomes, and attempts to gather student input may suffer from respondent bias and inconsistent engagement, introducing data noise.

Transl Cancer Res

October 2024

Jiangsu Key Laboratory of New Drug Research and Clinical Pharmacy, College of Pharmacy, Xuzhou Medical University, Xuzhou, China.

Background: The primary cause of mortality in patients with ovarian cancer (OC) is tumor metastasis. A comprehensive understanding of the mechanisms underlying metastasis in OC is essential for accurate prognosis prediction and the development of targeted therapeutic agents. Our findings indicate that alpha-2 Heremans Schmid glycoprotein (AHSG) is downregulated in OC exosomes.

Background: First-pass successful reperfusion (FPSR), defined as a successful/complete reperfusion achieved after a single thrombectomy pass, is predictive of favorable outcome in patients with acute ischemic stroke with large-vessel occlusion. It is unknown whether intravenous tirofiban is effective in increasing the rate of FPSR in acute anterior large-vessel occlusion stroke.

Methods And Results: Patients who had acute large-vessel occlusion stroke presenting within 24 hours and underwent endovascular thrombectomy were analyzed from the RESCUE BT (Intravenous Tirofiban for Patients With Large Vessel Occlusion Stroke) clinical trial, of which the main analysis was neutral.
