In recent years, with rapid societal advancement and profound transformations in knowledge production, doctoral students are increasingly facing significant time pressures. These pressures not only stem from an escalation in research tasks but also from urgent demands for innovative outputs. Grounded in Affective Events Theory, this study explores the dual impact of time pressure on the innovative behaviors of doctoral students in China.

Body composition assessment is very useful for evaluating a patient's status in the clinic, but recognizing, labeling, and calculating the body compositions would be burdensome. This study aims to develop a web-based service that could automate calculating the areas of skeleton muscle (SM), visceral adipose tissue (VAT), and subcutaneous adipose tissue (SAT) according to L3 computed tomography (CT) images. 1500 L3 CT images were gathered from Xuzhou Central Hospital.

Background: Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) has a rich and complex tumor immune microenvironment (TIME). M2 macrophages are among the most extensively infiltrated immune cells in the TIME and are necessary for the growth and migration of cancers. However, the mechanisms and targets mediating M2 macrophage infiltration in pancreatic cancer remain elusive.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a common neurodegenerative disease, neuroinflammation is an early pathological feature of AD. However, the alteration of the immune microenvironment in asymptomatic AD was not fully explained. In this study, we aimed to utilize the transcriptome data of AD patients in public databases to reveal the change of immune microenvironment in asymptomatic AD and screen the potential drug targets.

Background: The immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME) is a key characteristic of human cancer. Immunotherapy has emerged as a promising treatment strategy to overcome immune escape and has gained widespread use in recent years. In particular, the blockade of PD-1/PD-L1 interaction holds significant importance in oncotherapy.

Purpose: This study aimed to compare the effects of transperineal prostate combined biopsy (TP-CB) and transrectal prostate systematic biopsy (TR-SB) on the detection rate and safety of prostate cancer in patients with prostate-specific antigen (PSA) gray zone, PSA levels of 10~20 ng/mL, and 20~40 ng/mL, and explore the comparative value of their applications.
Materials And Methods: We collected 243 samples from patients with PSA ≤ 40 ng/mL who underwent prostate biopsy. All patients were divided into two groups according to different patterns of prostate biopsy.

Renovating old buildings is a strategic approach to resource optimization and sustainability. However, dormitory design decisions are often made by a limited panel of experts, which risks excluding student preferences-key to the design process. Expert assumptions about student needs can lead to biased outcomes, and attempts to gather student input may suffer from respondent bias and inconsistent engagement, introducing data noise.

Background: The primary cause of mortality in patients with ovarian cancer (OC) is tumor metastasis. A comprehensive understanding of the mechanisms underlying metastasis in OC is essential for accurate prognosis prediction and the development of targeted therapeutic agents. Our findings indicate that alpha-2 Heremans Schmid glycoprotein (AHSG) is downregulated in OC exosomes.

Unlabelled: The fixed-dose combination of beclometasone dipropionate/formoterol fumarate (BDP/FF) delivered pressurised metered-dose inhaler (pMDI) has demonstrated efficacy in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), in studies predominantly conducted in Caucasian adults. The current study evaluated the efficacy and safety of BDP/FF pMDI in Chinese patients with COPD, as part of registration for COPD in China. This double-blind, double-dummy, randomised, parallel-group study was conducted in patients with COPD of Chinese ethnicity aged ≥40 years.

Background: Some studies have found that high dietary inflammatory index (DII) increases stroke risk, but previous studies have mostly been conducted in the general population, and the exact relationship between DII and stroke in patients with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is not clear.
Methods: This cross-sectional study utilized data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2009-2016) to investigate the association between the DII and stroke. DII was computed according to established methods.

Background: First-pass successful reperfusion (FPSR), defined as a successful/complete reperfusion achieved after a single thrombectomy pass, is predictive of favorable outcome in patients with acute ischemic stroke with large-vessel occlusion. It is unknown whether intravenous tirofiban is effective in increasing the rate of FPSR in acute anterior large-vessel occlusion stroke.
Methods And Results: Patients who had acute large-vessel occlusion stroke presenting within 24 hours and underwent endovascular thrombectomy were analyzed from the RESCUE BT (Intravenous Tirofiban for Patients With Large Vessel Occlusion Stroke) clinical trial, of which the main analysis was neutral.

The aim of the study was to analyze and discuss the value of preoperative systemic immune inflammation index (SII) and prognostic nutritional index (PNI) in predicting the prognosis of patients with renal cell carcinoma (RCC) after operation, and to establish a nomogram prediction model for patients with RCC after operation based on SII and PNI. From January 2014 to December 2018, 210 patients with RCC who underwent surgical treatment at the Xuzhou Central Hospital were selected as the research object. The receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC) was used to determine the optimal cut-off value for preoperative SII, PNI, LMR, PLR, NLR and the patients were divided into groups according to the optimal cutoff values.

Background: The ubiquity of Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in various consumer and industrial products poses a significant public health challenge, but effective strategies to reduce human exposure to PFAS are limited.
Objectives: This study aims to evaluate the association between dietary patterns, specifically low-salt diets and salt-free cooking, and serum PFAS levels in the general population.
Methods: The study analyzed data from 11,137 participants from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) using weighted linear regression.

Background: Ferroptosis, an iron-dependent form of programmed cell death, significantly impacts cancer, yet its link to prostate cancer (PCa) prognosis remains underexplored. This study aims to develop and validate a ferroptosis-related gene signature to predict PCa prognosis and immune microenvironment differences, potentially identifying therapeutic targets.
Methods: RNA-sequencing data of 478 PCa patients and corresponding clinical data were downloaded from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database.
