Hematologic diseases are considered important contributors to cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) cases. This retrospective study aims to compare the difference of the clinical and radiological characters between CVST patients with and without hematologic diseases. Consecutive hospitalized CVST patients with hematologic disorders constituted the hematologic disorder group, while that without identifiable risk factors comprised the control group in this study.

Background: Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is the most lethal and devastating subtype of stroke. Basal ganglia hemorrhage and thalamic hemorrhage are the most common types of ICH, accounting for 50-70% of all ICH cases, leading to disability and death, and it involves the posterior limb of the internal capsule to varying degrees. In this study, we investigated the impact of varying degrees of the involvement of the posterior limb of the internal capsule on the prognosis of patients with basal ganglia and thalamic ICH and assessed whether it improves the predictive accuracy of the max-ICH score, an existing scale for ICH functional outcome.

Background: There are currently no deep learning models applying resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (rs-fMRI) data to distinguish patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) and healthy controls (HCs). Moreover, no study has correlated objective gait parameters with brain network alterations in patients with PD. We propose BrainNetCNN + CL, applying a convolutional neural network (CNN) and joint contrastive learning (CL) method to brain network analysis to classify patients with PD and HCs, and compare their performance with classical classification methods.

Background: Iatrogenic cervical kyphosis (ICK) often requires complex anterior and posterior correction, which is associated with multiple complications. Consequently, there is a need to investigate alternative treatment approaches that streamline the operative process and markedly diminish postoperative complications. This study, therefore, aimed to evaluate the feasibility and efficacy of a single-stage anterior controllable antedisplacement fusion (ACAF) in revision surgeries for ICK.

Aging is a systemic, complex, and heterogeneous process characterized by a progressive decline in physiological functions, rendering it a major risk factor for various chronic diseases. Chronic inflammation has emerged as both a hallmark and a driver in this complicated process. This persistent inflammatory state arises from a spectrum of stimuli, ranging from external pathogens to internal cellular remnants, to metabolic dysregulation, and to chronic stress.

Importance: Autoantibodies targeting astrocytes, such as those against glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) or aquaporin protein 4, are crucial diagnostic markers for autoimmune astrocytopathy among central nervous system (CNS) autoimmune disorders. However, diagnosis remains challenging for patients lacking specific autoantibodies.
Objective: To characterize a syndrome of unknown meningoencephalomyelitis associated with an astrocytic autoantibody.

Chordoma is a rare malignant tumor with a higher incidence in males than in females. There is an increasing number of clinical studies related to tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), yet the efficacy and safety of different drugs vary. In this single-arm meta-analysis evaluating the efficacy and safety of TKIs for chordoma treatment, 12 studies involving 365 patients were analyzed.

Objectives: This study analyzed carotid artery remodeling characteristics in early carotid atherosclerosis (ECAS).
Methods: The 1021 participants were evaluated using ultrasonography and categorized into three groups: Group A, 391 participants with increased intima-media thickness (IMT); Group B, 300 participants with atherosclerotic plaque only on the carotid bulb (CB); and the control group (330 participants). The ratios of the diameters in the CB to those in the common carotid artery (D) and internal carotid artery (D) were defined as carotid index1 (CI) and 2 (CI).

Background: Sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors is a novel category of medications for diabetes, exhibiting neuroprotective potential. However, evidence regarding whether the use of SGLT2 inhibitors effectively reduces the risk of Alzheimer's disease (AD) remains unclear.
Objective: Our study employed Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis to investigate potential causal relationships between SGLT2 inhibition, metabolites, and AD.

Objective: Ischemia-reperfusion of the abdominal aorta often results in damage to distant organs, such as the heart and brain. This cellular heterogeneity within affected tissues complicates the roles of specific cell subsets in abdominal aorta occlusion model (AAO) injury. However, cell type-specific molecular pathology in the hippocampus after ischemia is poorly understood.

Background: Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a prevalent neurodegenerative disease (ND). In recent years, multiple clinical and animal studies have shown that mitochondrial dysfunction may be involved in the pathogenesis of AD. In addition, short-chain fatty acids (SCFA) produced by intestinal microbiota metabolism have been considered to be important factors affecting central nervous system (CNS) homeostasis.

Brain biopsy is commonly employed for the histological diagnosis of complex intracranial diseases. To improve the positive diagnostic rate, the precision of intraoperative tissue sampling is critical. This study evaluated the accuracy of fluorescence imaging technology in rapidly distinguishing tumours from nontumour tissue during surgery, thus providing real-time feedback to surgeons and optimizing the surgical workflow.

However, existing methods often require tailored protocols for individual modalities, limiting their automation potential and clinical applicability. To address this, we introduce UDA-seq, a universal workflow that integrates a post-indexing step to enhance throughput and systematically adapt existing droplet-based single-cell multimodal methods.

High concentrations of neutrophil degranulation products in the plasma and thrombi are poor prognostic indicators in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS). This study aimed to identify candidate effectors capable of mediating neutrophil degranulation post-AIS, and to reveal their underlying epigenetic mechanisms. Microarrays and ChIP-seq were applied to analyze the neutrophils of patients with AIS.

IL-2/IL-2R inhibition improved the prognosis of ischemic stroke by regulating T cells, while the respective contribution of T cells with high/medium/low-affinity IL-2 receptors remained unclear. Single-cell RNA sequencing data of ischemic brain tissue revealed that most of the high-affinity IL-2R would be expressed by CD8 + T cells, especially by a highly-proliferative subset. Interestingly, only the CD8 + T cells with high-affinity IL-2R infiltrated ischemic brain tissues, highly expressing 32 genes (including Cdc20, Cdca3/5, and Asns) and activating 7 signaling pathways (including the interferon-alpha response pathway, a key mediator in the proliferation, migration, and cytotoxicity of CD8 + T cells).
