Bidentate Pt(II) complexes with cyclometalated -heteroarene or -heterocyclic carbene (NHC) ligands have been extensively studied as phosphorescent emitters over the past two decades. Herein, we introduce a difluoromethyl group (CFH) into the wingtip of NHCs, where CFH acts as a lipophilic hydrogen bond (HB) donor. Their cyclometalated Pt(II) complexes show excellent PLQYs (up to 93%) and phosphorescence lifetimes mainly due to the rigid structure with hydrogen bonding between the CFH group and the adjacent O atom at the β-diketonate ligand.

Pentatomidae, the most diverse family of Pentatomoidea, is found worldwide. Currently, the phylogenetic relationships among Pentatomidae tribes remain unstable, and subfamily divergence has not been estimated. Here, we sequenced and analyzed the complete mitochondrial genomes of two species of Lelia, and studied the phylogenetic relationships among Pentatominae tribes.

The feeding habits of Pentatomidae are closely related to their energy metabolism and ecological adaptations. In this study, we sequenced the mitochondrial genomes of 12 Asopinae species using the next-generation sequencing to explore the effect of dietary changes on mitochondrial genome evolution.

A flexible asymmetric supercapacitor (ASC) is successfully developed by using the composite of MoO and graphene oxide (GO) electrochemically deposited on carbon cloth (CC) (MoO/rGO/CC) as the cathode, the MnO deposited on CC (MnO/CC) as the anode, and NaSO/polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) as the gel electrolyte. The results show that the introduction of the GO layer can remarkably increase the specific capacitance of MoO from 282.7 F g to 341.

Increasing cadmium (Cd) pollution has negative effects on quinoa growth and production. Gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) confers plants with stress resistance to heavy metals; however, the mechanism remains unclear. We explored the effects of exogenous GABA on the physiological characteristics, antioxidant capacity, and Cd accumulation of quinoa seedlings under Cd stress using hydroponic experiments.

How to improve the success of new project development through the collection of resources in the preliminary stages of new project development is a new area of research. Given the speed and magnitude of changes in the folk sports market environment, this study analyses the impact of tapping folk tourism resources on sports projects at the project development stage. Through stratified regression analyses of 600 Chinese firms engaged in folk sports project development, this paper finds that tapping internal tourism resources positively affects the Fuzzy Front-End Performance of incremental innovative project development.

This paper aimed to investigate the influence of motor practice and music performance experiences on musicians' auditory memory, the effect of auditory distinctiveness on melody recognition, and the differences in the working memory of classical and jazz pianists. The study was conducted among 26 jazz and 24 classical music students at Shenyang Conservatory of Music. To achieve the goal set, a melody recognition ability was analyzed after listening, performing without sound, and simultaneous listening and performing using computer recordings and pianist-taken notes.

Soil moisture (SM) directly controls the land surface energy partition which plays an important role in the formation of extreme weather events. However, its dependence on specific climatic conditions is not thoroughly understood due to the complexity of soil moisture effects. Here, we examine the relationship between SM and surface energy partitioning under different climate conditions, and identify the influence paradigms of soil moisture on surface energy partition.

Climacteric bananas are susceptible to endogenous ethylene and temperature, resulting in dehydration, accelerated senescence and deterioration. The widely-used plastic cling films is particularly complicated due to their high consumption and non-degradability. Herein, this study proposed to fabricate a carboxymethyl cellulose/polyvinyl alcohol/pyrazoic acid (CPP) hydrogel for postharvest banana preservation.

Boron-based nanoclusters show unique geometric structures, nonclassical chemical bonding, and dynamic structural fluxionality. We report here on the theoretical prediction of a binary PdB cluster, which is composed of a triangular Pd core and a tubular double-ring B unit in a coaxial fashion, as identified through global structural searches and electronic structure calculations. Molecular dynamics simulations indicate that in the core-shell alloy cluster, the B double-ring unit can rotate freely around its Pd core at room temperature and beyond.

Uhler, 1861 is the largest genus in the bug family Coreidae. Even though many species of this genus are economically important, the complete mitogenomes of species have not yet been reported. Therefore, in the present study, the complete mitogenomes of three species, (Motschulsky, 1866), Ren, 1987, and (Uhler, 1860), are sequenced and characterized, and submitted in a phylogenetic analysis of the Coreidae.

As one of the important probes of chemical bonding, planar tetracoordinate carbon (ptC) compounds have been receiving much attention. Compared with ptC clusters, the heavier planar tetracoordinate silicon, germanium, tin, lead (ptSi/Ge/Sn/Pb) systems are scarcer and more exotic. The 18-valence-electron (ve)-counting is one important guide, though not the only rule, for the design of planar tetra-, penta-coordinate carbon and silicon clusters.

Intracellular pH plays a crucial role in many cellular processes, and abnormal intracellular pH has been linked to common diseases such as cancer and Alzheimer's. To address this issue, a water-soluble fluorescent pH probe was designed based on the protonation/deprotonation of the 4-methylpiperazin-1-yl group, using dicyanoisophorone as the fluorophore. In the neutral form of the probe, fluorescence is quenched due to charge transfer from the 4-methylpiperazin-1-yl group to the fluorophore upon excitation.

The structural diversity and metabolic pathways formed by soil microbial-environmental factor interactions can be used to predict the differences in microbial ecological functions. The storage of fly ash (FA) has caused potential harm to the surrounding soil environment, whereas little is known about bacterial communities and environmental factor interactions in FA-disturbed areas. In this study, we selected two disturbed areas (DW: dry-wet deposition zone, LF: leachate flow zone) and two nondisturbed areas (CSO: control point soil, CSE: control point sediment) as the test areas and used high-throughput sequencing technology to investigate the bacterial communities.

Transition-metal-doped boron nanoclusters exhibit unique structures and bonding in chemistry. Using the experimentally observed seashell-like borospherenes B and B as ligands and based on extensive first-principles theory calculations, we predict herein a series of novel transition-metal-centered endohedral seashell-like metallo-borospherenes Sc@B (), Ti@B (), V@B (), and V@B () which, as the global minima of the complex systems, turn out to be the boron analogues of dibenzenechromium Cr(CH) with two B ligands on the top and bottom interconnected by four or five corner boron atoms on the waist and one transition-metal "pearl" sandwiched at the center in between. Detailed molecular orbital, adaptive natural density partitioning (AdNDP), and iso-chemical shielding surface (ICSS) analyses indicate that, similar to Cr(CH), these endohedral seashell-like complexes follow the 18-electron rule in bonding patterns (1S1P1D), rendering spherical aromaticity and extra stability to the systems.

Sulfur dioxide (SO) has been widely applied as an important additive in various foods and drugs due to its antioxidant, antiseptic and bleaching properties. SO in living organisms plays a key biological role as an antioxidant in a variety of life activities. However, abnormal levels of SO in both food and living organisms could cause harm and even serious illness, such as diseases related to the respiratory and cardiovascular systems and cancers.

Doping alkali metals into boron clusters can effectively compensate for the intrinsic electron deficiency of boron and lead to interesting boron-based binary clusters, owing to the small electronegativity of the former elements. We report on the computational design of a three-layered sandwich cluster, NaB, on the basis of global-minimum (GM) searches and electronic structure calculations. It is shown that the NaB cluster can be described as a charge-transfer complex: [Na][B][Na].
