Doping of silicon nanocrystals (Si-NCs) is one of the major challenges for silicon nanoscale devices. In this work, phosphorus (P) doping in Si-NCs which are embedded within an amorphous silicon matrix is realized together with the growth of Si-NCs by plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition under a tunable substrate direct current (DC) bias. The variation of phosphorus concentration with substrate bias can be explained by the competition of bonding processes of Si-Si and P-Si bonds.

We synthesized a new europium complex [Eu(ecbpd) (Phen)] with bis(β-diketone) ligand containing a carbazole group, in which ecbpd and Phen are dehydro-3,3'-(9-ethyl-9H-carbazole-3,6-diyl)bis(1-phenylpropane-1,3-dione) and 1,10-phenanthroline, respectively. Its UV/vis and photoluminescent spectra, quantum yield, luminescence lifetime, electrochemistry, thermal stability and electroluminescent performances were studied. This europium complex showed low efficiency luminescence, which is probably due to the mismatching energy levels of its ligand and Eu , as well as the double Eu core resonance.

A Single Biosensor for Evaluating the Levels of Copper Ion and L-Cysteine in a Live Rat Brain with Alzheimer's Disease.

Angew Chem Int Ed Engl

Shanghai Key Laboratory of Green Chemistry and Chemical Processes, Department of Chemistry, School of Chemistry and Molecular Engineering, East China Normal University, North Zhongshan Road 3663, Shanghai 200062 (P.R. China).

Copper ion (Cu(2+)) and L-cysteine (CySH) are closely correlated with physiological and pathological events of Alzheimer's Disease (AD), however the detailed mechanism is still unclear, mainly owing to a lack of accurate analytical methods in live brains. Herein, we report a single biosensor for electrochemical ratiometric detection of Cu(2+) and CySH in live rat brains with AD. N,N-di-(2-picoly)ethylenediamine (DPEA) is first synthesized for specific recognition of Cu(2+) to form a DPEA-Cu(2+) complex.

Efficient solution-processed double-layer red OLEDs based on a new europium complex with a carbazole group.

Luminescence

June 2015

School of New Energy Science and Engineering, Xinyu University, Xinyu, 338004, People's Republic of China.

A new europium complex EuL3 (Phen) was used as guest dopant, and a blend of Polyvinylcarbazole and 2-(biphenyl-4-yl)-5-(4-tert-butylphenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole (PVK and PBD) as host matrix. Efficient red organic light-emitting devices (OLEDs) with double-layer structures were manufactured via a solution-processed technique. The guest-doped levels were 1, 3 and 5 wt% relative to the blend mass, respectively.

An inequality of meromorphic functions and its application.

By applying Ahlfors theory of covering surface, we establish a fundamental inequality of meromorphic function dealing with multiple values in an angular domain. As an application, we prove the existence of some new singular directions for a meromorphic function f, namely a Bloch direction and a pseudo-T direction for f.
