Transition metals and organic ligands combine to form metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), which possess distinct active sites, large specific surface areas and stable porous structures, giving them considerable promise for CO reduction electrocatalysis. In the present study, using spin polarisation density-functional theory, a series of 2D MOFs constructed from 3d transition metal and hexamethylene dipyrazoline quinoxaline(HADQ) were investigated. The calculated binding energies between HADQ and metal atoms for the ten TM-HADQ monolayers were strong sufficient to stably disperse the metal atoms in the HADQ monolayers.

Department of Fundamental Medicine, Xinyu University, Xinyu 338004, Jiangxi, China.

(R)-1-(4-methoxyphenyl) ethanol [(R)-1b] is an essential precursor for the synthesis of aryl propanoic acids' anti-inflammatatory drugs. Biocatalysts for (R)-1b preparation are limited and reductase has problems of low substrate concentration and low conversion rate. As a result, there is a constant need for discovering novel biocatalysts with excellent catalytic performances.

Mitochondrial dysfunction in metabolic disorders induced by per- and polyfluoroalkyl substance mixtures in zebrafish larvae.

Environ Int

June 2023

Key Laboratory of Poyang Lake Basin Agricultural Resource and Ecology of Jiangxi Province, College of Land Resource and Environment, Jiangxi Agricultural University, Nanchang 330045, China. Electronic address:

Several per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) have been linked to metabolic disorders in organisms. However, few studies have considered their combined effects, which would be more representative of PFAS occurring in the environment. In this study, zebrafish embryos were exposed to a mixture of 18 PFAS at three environmentally relevant concentrations for 5 days to assess their bioconcentration and metabolic consequences.

Pansharpening integrates the high spectral content of multispectral (MS) images and the fine spatial information of the corresponding panchromatic (PAN) images to produce a high spectral-spatial resolution image. Traditional pansharpening methods compensate for the spatial lack of the MS image using the PAN image details, which easily causes spectral distortion. To achieve spectral fidelity, a spectral preservation model based on spectral contribution and dempendence with detail injection for pansharpening is proposed.

Article Synopsis
  • Two-dimensional copper sheets were used to improve the electrical and thermal conductivity of graphene films made from graphene oxide nanosheets through a thermal reduction method.
  • Adding different amounts of copper sheets significantly increased the electrical conductivity by up to 3 times and thermal conductivity by 64.9%.
  • The study suggests that these enhanced graphene composite films could be useful for heat management in electronic devices due to their better heat dissipation properties.

March 2023

Xinyu Key Laboratory of Materials Technology and Application for Intelligent Manufacturing, School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Xinyu University, Xinyu 338004, China.

In this work, 3D printed polylactic acid (PLA)/polycaprolactone (PCL) nanocomposites with favorable thermo-responsive cyclic shape memory effects (SMEs) and crystallization and mechanical properties were fabricated using a two-step method. First, an isocyanate-terminated PCL diol (PCL-NCO) was synthesized through the reaction between isocyanate groups of hexamethylene diisocyanate and active hydroxyl groups of PCL diol, and its physicochemical properties were characterized. A PLA/PCL blend with a PCL content of 50 wt% was fabricated via fused filament fabrication (FFF) 3D printing, and the influence of the PCL-NCO on the SME of the PLA/PCL blend was studied.

Key Laboratory of Animal Genetics, Breeding and Reproduction in the Plateau Mountainous Region, Ministry of Education, Guizhou University, Guiyang, Guizhou, China.

Introduction: Chinese indigenous chicken breeds are widely used as food in China but their slow growth rate and long farming cycle has limited their industrial production.

Methods: In the current study we examined whether the market weights of native chicken breeds were related to specific cecal bacteria, serum metabolites and inflammatory cytokines. We examined cecal bacterial taxa using 16S rDNA analysis along with untargeted serum metabolites and serum inflammatory cytokines.

To further advance the application of flexible piezoelectric materials in wearable/implantable devices and robot electronic skin, it is necessary to endow them with a new function of antibacterial properties and with higher piezoelectric performance. Introducing a specially designated nanomaterial based on the nanocomposite effect is a feasible strategy to improve material properties and achieve multifunctionalization of composites. In this paper, carbon dots (CDs) were sensitized onto the surface of ZnO to form ZnO@CDs nanoparticles, which were then incorporated into polyvinylidene fluoride-hexafluoropropylene (PVDF-HFP) to obtain a multifunctional composite.

The resource utilization of CO2 is one of the essential avenues to realize the goal of "double carbon". The metal-organic framework (MOF) has shown promising applications in CO2 catalytic reduction reactions due to its sufficient pore structure, abundant active sites and functionalizability. In this paper, we investigated the electrocatalytic carbon dioxide reduction reactions of single-atom catalysts created by MOF two-dimensional coordination network materials constructed from transition metal-tetrahydroxybenzoquinone using density function theory calculations.

Electrocatalytic reduction of CO to valuable fuels and chemicals can not only alleviate the energy crisis but also improve the atmospheric environment. The key is to develop electrocatalysts that are extremely stable, efficient, selective, and reasonably priced. In this study, spin-polarized density function theory (DFT) calculations were used to comprehensively examine the catalytic efficacy of transition metal-hexaaminobenzene (TM-HAB) monolayers as single-atom catalysts for the electroreduction of CO.

Quantum Dot Hybridization of Piezoelectric Polymer Films for Non-Transfer Integration of Flexible Biomechanical Energy Harvesters.

ACS Appl Mater Interfaces

July 2022

Key Laboratory of Fluorine and Silicon for Energy Materials and Chemistry of Ministry of Education, Jiangxi Normal University, Nanchang 330022, China.

This work presents a low-temperature engineering strategy, from quantum dot (QD) synthesis to fabrication of a hybrid from a homogeneous dispersion to thermal annealing with elaborate use of a small organic molecule dopamine, for achieving a kind of ZnO QD-hybridized piezoelectric polymer film directly integrated into a flexible electrode and a plastic substrate. This strategy is the key for non-transfer assembly of flexible piezoelectric nanogenerators (FPENGs) with both mechanical robustness and high electrical performance via direct lamination. The rational addition of dopamine plays multiple roles of (1) significantly decreasing the size of ZnO particles to a QD level (3.

A piston skirt friction and wear apparatus that simulates the contact and the relative motion of piston and cylinder liner in a real engine has been designed and constructed. With this apparatus, the friction and wear behavior of a cast aluminum alloy piston with a graphite coating under different loads was studied, and the effectiveness of the apparatus was confirmed. The total wear of the piston skirt was higher under a higher load, and the upper part of the skirt surface (around the height of the piston pin) was worn more severely.

Quasi-2D perovskite light-emitting diodes (PeLEDs) have attracted significant attention for their promising light-emitting applications. However, quasi-2D perovskite films typically consist of a broad phase distribution and small grains with a large surface area to volume ratio, leading to inferior color purities and higher defect densities. Herein, a bifunctional additive ((l)-tryptophan bromide, l-TrpBr) was introduced into a quasi-2D perovskite film.
