Diabetic gastroparesis (DGP), a prevalent complication of diabetes, is characterized by delayed gastric emptying and inflammation. The dorsal motor nucleus of the vagus (DMV) plays a crucial role in modulating gastric function via the vagus nerve. Neuregulin 1 (NRG1), which is present in the DMV and influences the autonomic nervous system, has an unclear role in DGP.

Metastasis is a major cause of fatality in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), although the precise mechanisms driving the metastatic process remain incompletely understood. In this study, we have made several important findings. Firstly, we have discovered that elevated activation-induced cytidine deaminase (AID) expression is positively correlated with Jagged 1 (JAG1) levels in clinically metastatic HCC patients.

Schizophrenia, a severe mental illness characterized by cognitive impairment and olfactory dysfunction, remains an enigma with its pathological mechanism yet to be fully elucidated. The entorhinal cortex, a pivotal structure involved in numerous neural loop circuits related to olfaction, cognition, and emotion, has garnered significant attention due to its structural and functional abnormalities, which have been implicated in the pathogenesis of schizophrenia. This review focuses on the abnormal structural and functional changes in the entorhinal cortex in schizophrenia patients, as evidenced by neuroimaging, cellular biology, and genetic studies.

SLC25A3 encodes mitochondrial phosphate carrier (PiC), which is involved in inorganic phosphate transport. Clinical reports have found that most patients with homozygous or complex heterozygous mutations in SLC25A3 exhibit lactic acidosis, cardiac hypertrophy, and premature death. However, the potential molecular mechanisms underlying these associations remain unclear.

After the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, the leadership of the new country carried out a political, cultural, and scientific campaign to "comprehensively learn from the Soviet Union," with the goal of rapid development on all fronts. In the realm of medicine, this had profound consequences. The hegemonic Soviet theory of physiology and psychology-Pavlovianism-became highly influential in China, first as Party Line and second as the basis for a reformed "traditional Chinese medicine".

Objective: This study evaluates the efficacy of Snap-Shot Freeze (SSF) technology combined with optimized contrast medium (CM) injection protocols in Triple-Rule-Out (TRO) computed tomography angiography (CTA) using 64-channel multi-slice CT (MSCT) for diagnosing acute chest pain (ACP).
Materials And Methods: A total of 111 patients presenting with ACP were enrolled and divided into two groups: Group 1 (23 patients) underwent TRO CTA using 64-channel MSCT with SSF technology, while the control group (88 patients) which was further divided into three cohorts underwent specific site CTA scans. Quantitative metrics such as CT values, standard deviation (SD), signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), and contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) were calculated for pulmonary artery, coronary arteries, and aortic imaging.

Paclitaxel is one of the main chemotherapic medicines against triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) in clinic. However, it has been perplexed by paclitaxel resistance in TNBC patients, resulting in a poor prognosis. Abnormal protein glycosylation is closely related to the occurrence and progression of tumors and malignant phenotypes such as chemotherapy resistance.

Chromium (VI) (Cr(VI)) generally coexists with organic dyes in industrial effluents, posing a formidable challenge in water purification. Herein, NH-MIL-125(Ti)/TiO Z-scheme heterojunction with intimate interfacial contact was synthesized for synchronous removal of pollutant in coexisting Cr(VI)/dyes system under simulated solar irradiation. Structural and optical investigations indicated that a well-defined interface was formed by establishing a Ti-N-C bond, facilitating the spatial separation of the photoexcited carriers of the Z-scheme heterojunction.

Herein, the palladium-catalyzed autotandem reaction of cyclopropyl alcohols with gem-dibromoolefins is described. This reaction system involves two distinct mechanistic processes, both efficiently catalyzed by the same palladium catalyst. This approach accommodates a wide substrate scope using readily available starting materials, offering a new and efficient method for synthesizing a series of β-pyrrolo[1,2-]quinolinyl ketones.

Background: Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) is commonly used in animal reproduction and production, but it was previously reported that GnRH decreases the embryo implantation rate during artificial insemination or embryo transfer in sheep. In addition to the finding that GnRH can target S100A4 to inhibit endometrial epithelial cells proliferation, it was also found that endometrial cells were in poor condition and experienced cell death in S100A4 knockout mice, but the mechanism is unclear.
Methods: The protein PPP1CA, which interacts with S100A4, was detected by immunoprecipitation-mass spectrometry of overexpression and knockdown of S100A4 and PPP1CA.

Despite the vital role of astrocytes in preserving blood-brain barrier (BBB) integrity, their therapeutic potential as targets in ischemic stroke-induced barrier disruption remains underexplored. We previously reported externalization of phosphatidylserine (PS) on astrocytic membranes concurrent with the emergence of PS externalization in neurons. PS externalization of astrocytes induced microglial phagocytosis of astrocytes, resulting in reduced astrocyte-vascular coupling and subsequent BBB breakdown.

Photothermal therapy (PTT) is an innovative cancer treatment that leverages heat generated from near-infrared light exposure to induce tumor cell death. A major challenge in PTT is achieving precise delivery of the photothermal agent to tumor tissues to maximize efficacy and minimize off-target effects. In this study, we introduce a novel ligand-coupled photothermal reagent that addresses this challenge by leveraging the high-affinity HER2 affibody Z (referred to as Z), conjugated with indocyanine green (ICG) for targeted delivery.
