Background: New indicators of potential human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) transmission are being actively explored. We aim to categorical testing of the viral load (VL) of persons living with HIV (PLWH) in order to explore new indicators to measure the intensity of the epidemic and the effectiveness of the response in the community.
Methods: A dynamic cohort study was conducted in Yining to monitor the VL of all persons living with HIV from 2017 to 2019.

This 12-year cohort study of 80 long-term non-progressors (LTNPs) observed a cumulative follow-up duration of 628.5 person-years. Among them, 60 received antiretroviral therapy (ART) for a total of 418.

Background: Early prediction of mortality in individuals with HIV (PWH) has perpetually posed a formidable challenge. With the widespread integration of machine learning into clinical practice, some researchers endeavor to formulate models predicting the mortality risk for PWH. Nevertheless, the diverse timeframes of mortality among PWH and the potential multitude of modeling variables have cast doubt on the efficacy of the current predictive model for HIV-related deaths.

Background: Brucellosis is a severe zoonotic disease that is often overlooked, particularly in impoverished countries. Timely identification of focal complications in brucellosis is crucial for improving treatment outcomes. However, there is currently a lack of established indicators or biomarkers for diagnosing these complications.

Background: Visceral leishmaniasis (VL) has been declared as one of the six major tropical diseases by the World Health Organization. This disease has been successfully controlled in China, except for some areas in the western region, such as the Xinjiang Autonomous Region, where both anthroponotic VL (AVL) and desert type zoonotic VL (DT-ZVL) remain endemic with sporadic epidemics.
Methodology/principal Findings: Here, an eleven-year survey (2004-2014) of Leishmania species, encompassing both VL types isolated from patients, sand-fly vectors and Tarim hares (Lepus yarkandensis) from the Xinjiang Autonomous Region was conducted, with a special emphasis on the hares as a potential reservoir animal for DT-ZVL.

Introduction: To control the spread of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) among sero-discordant couples, we explored the HIV seroconversion and its contributing factors.
Methodology: We recruited negative partners in HIV sero-discordant couples to established a prospective cohort between January 2010 and June 2015 from areas with severe HIV epidemic in Xinjiang. Follow up once every 3 months, serological tests and risk behavior surveys every 6 months.

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a hereditary heterogeneous neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by social and speech dysplasia. We collected the expression profiles of ASD in GSE26415, GSE42133 and GSE123302 from the gene expression omnibus (GEO) database, as well as methylation data of GSE109905. Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) between ASD and controls were obtained by differential expression analysis.

Background: The System of Health Accounts 2011 (SHA 2011) assists in health policy analysis and health expenditure comparison at the international level. Based on SHA 2011, this study analysed the distribution of beneficiary groups of curative care expenditure (CCE) in Xinjiang, to present suggestions for developing health policies.
Methods: A total of 160 health institutions were selected using the multistage stratified random sampling method.

Background: Hand foot and mouth disease (HFMD) is becoming one of the common human infectious diseases in China. Previous studies have described HFMD in tropical or coastal areas of Asia-Pacific countries. However, limited studies have thoroughly studied the epidemiology and potential risk factors for HFMD in inland areas with complex environmental conditions.

This research explored the effect of biochar pyrolyzed from five different materials on U and Cd immobilization in soil. The results showed that all biochars improved the soil properties and microbial metabolic activities, and effectively immobilized U and Cd, especially corn stalk biochar. Subsequently, three strains Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus cereus, and Citrobacter sp.

BACKGROUND Arsenic (As) is an environmental contaminant, and As pollution in water and soil is a public health issue worldwide. As exposure is associated with the incidence of many disorders, such as arteriosclerosis, diabetes, neurodegenerative diseases, and renal dysfunction. However, the mechanism of As toxicity remains unclear.

Background: The F+1 (rs511898 G>A) polymorphism in a disintegrin and metalloprotease 33 (ADAM33) gene has been implicated in susceptibility of chronic obstruction pulmonary disease (COPD). However, a series of studies have reported inconclusive. The aim of this study is to explore the association between the F+1 (rs511898) of ADAM33 gene and COPD susceptibility by using the method of meta-analysis.

Poliomyelitis associated with circulating vaccine-derived polioviruses (cVDPVs) is a serious public health issue in the post-eradication era, and the occurrence of recombinant cVDPVs emphasizes the need to elucidate enterovirus C (EV-C) epidemiology. Stool samples were collected from 826 healthy children in Southern Xinjiang in 2011 to investigate EV-C circulation and epidemiology. Thirty-six EV-Cs were isolated and assigned to eight EV-C serotypes by molecular serotyping, suggesting the circulation of diverse EV-Cs in Xinjiang.
