(background): With the highest 5-year recurrence rate among malignancies, bladder cancer is a relatively common type of cancer that typically originates from the urothelial cells lining the bladder. Additionally, bladder cancer is one of the most financially burdensome neoplasms to medical institutions in terms of management. Hence, prompt identification and accurate handling of bladder cancer are pivotal for enhancing patient prognosis.

Mass spectrometry (MS)-based proteomics has become instrumental in comprehensively investigating complex biological systems. Data-independent acquisition (DIA)-MS, utilizing hybrid spectral library search strategies, allows for the simultaneous quantification of thousands of proteins, showing promise in enhancing protein identification and quantification precision. However, low-quality profiles can considerably undermine quantitative precision, resulting in inaccurate protein quantification.

Background: Tuberculosis spondylitis (TS), commonly known as Pott's disease, is a severe type of skeletal tuberculosis that typically requires surgical treatment. However, this treatment option has led to an increase in healthcare costs due to prolonged hospital stays (PLOS). Therefore, identifying risk factors associated with extended PLOS is necessary.

Background: Describe the accurate locations of lymph node recurrence (LNR) of Chinese patients with postoperative thoracic esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is essential for determining the need for further surveillance protocols and treatments. The authors aimed to evaluate the patterns of postoperative ESCC and its current risk stratification with LNR.
Methods: This population-based cohort study included a retrospective review of the medical records and image material of patients with ESCC who underwent LNR after radical surgery between January 2013 and September 2022, with a median follow-up time of 5.
This study aims to investigate the effects of Boiss. et Huet (CG) on the intestinal microbiota and serum bile acid (BA) in db/db mice. A total of 12 db/db mice were randomly divided into model (MOD), high-dose CG (CGH), and control (CON) groups.

In this context, we induced the T2DM mice model with a high-fat diet (HFD) combined with streptozotocin (STZ), followed by treatment with a quinoa diet. To explore the impact of quinoa on the intestinal flora, we predicted and validated its potential mechanism of hypoglycemic effect through network pharmacology, molecular docking, western blot, and immunohistochemistry (IHC).

Background: Managing patients with symptomatic non-acute intracranial large artery occlusion (SNA-ILAO) poses a significant challenge due to the high morbidity and risk of recurrent critical ischemic events, even with standard medical therapy. This unique subgroup of patients requires specialized attention. The aim of this study is to evaluate the feasibility and safety of endovascular interventional recanalization for SNA-ILAO.

Purpose: The optimal method for achieving proper graft tension during patellofemoral ligament reconstruction is a topic of debate. In the past, a digital tensiometer was used to simulate the knee structure, and a tension of approximately 2N was identified as suitable for restoring the patellofemoral track. However, it is unclear whether this tension level is sufficient during the actual surgery.

Background: We present a case of epicardial pacemaker implantation in a low birth weight newborn using a lumenless active fixation lead.
Results: We found that superior pacing parameters can be obtained by implanting a lumenless active fixation lead into the epicardium, but more evidence is needed to support this hypothesis.

Objective To identify the effect of exosomes derived from bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) loaded with annexin A2 (ANXA2) on the proliferation, migration, invasion of prostate cancer cells, and the transplanted tumor of prostate cancer in nude mice growth, as well as the role of macrophages in this process. Methods BMSCs from BALB/c nude mice were isolated and cultured. BMSCs were infected with lentiviral plasmids loaded with ANXA2.

Here, we studied whether HHD could induce autophagy in neuro cells and investigated the underlying molecular mechanism. After incubation with HHD, the number of GFP-LC3 puncta in cells was measured using confocal microscopy.

Objective: To evaluate the effect of intensive psychological nursing on the adverse mood and quality of life in patients with cervical cancer (CC).
Methods: 100 CC patients admitted to our hospital from January 2019 to January 2020 were enrolled and randomly allocated into two groups, namely the control group (n=50) and the experimental group (n=50). Patients in the control group and experimental group were given general nursing and intensive psychological nursing, respectively.
The Central nervous system (CNS) tumor still remains the most lethal cancer, and It is hard to diagnose at an earlier stage on most occasions. It is found that recurrent disease is finally observed in patients who occurred chemo-resistance after completely primary treatment. It is a challenge that monitoring treatment efficacy and tumor recurrence of CNS tumors are full of risks and difficulties by brain biopsies.

The aim of this study was to investigate the role of the mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase-extracellular signal-regulated kinases 1/2 (MEK-ERK1/2) signaling pathway in chondrocyte differentiation and cartilage tissue construction . Chondrocytes were stimulated with rat serum (RS) and fetal bovine serum (FBS), and chondrocyte phenotypes were investigated microscopically. Chondrocyte proliferation was analyzed using fluorescence activated cell sorting (FACS) and the CCK8 method.

Sepsis-induced acute lung injury (ALI) characterized by devastating hyperinflammatory response in the lungs is the ultimate cause of high mortality and mobility in septic patients. miR-155 was reported to be significantly upregulated in sepsis-induced ALI cases and alleviated inflammation in septic lung injury in mouse and cell models. However, the detailed role of miR-155 and its underlying mechanism in sepsis-associated ALI remain to be further explored.

Overexpression of the prolyl isomerase PIN1 is involved in tumorigenesis, but the role of PIN1 in cervical cancer is unclear. In this study, we examined PIN1 protein expression by immunohistochemistry in 221 paraffin-embedded samples from cervical cancer patients, cervical intraepithelial neoplasia patients, and control tissues, and found that high expression of PIN1 was significantly associated with lymph node metastasis (P=0.002), advanced stage according to the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics guidelines (P=0.

MiR-101-3p has been suggested to be implicated in the pathogenesis of lymphoma, however little is known regarding clinicopathological significance of its expression in diffused large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). In contrast, although c-myc has been extensively studied in DLBCL, no direct evidence concerning clinicopathological significance has been well established, either. Given this, in our present study, to understand the significance of both miR-101-3p and c-myc expression on mRNA level in DLBCL, real-time quantitative PCR was used to detect the expression of miR-101-3p and c-myc on mRNA level in 100 cases of DLBCL samples.
