Introduction: Whether the expression level of MMP-1, MMP-13 and TIMP-1 has association with the degeneration of lateral meniscus after posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) fracture is poorly understood. The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of PCL fracture on lateral meniscus, including morphological changes, histological changes and roles of matrix metalloproteinase-1 (MMP-1), matrix metalloproteinase-13 (MMP-13) and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1 (TIMP-1) expression level in the secondary injury.

Materials And Methods: Sixty male rabbits were used as PCL transection models and randomized into the PCL-transection side, which underwent PCL transection surgery, and the control side, which underwent PCL exposure without transection.

Objective: This study aims to investigate the biomechanical effect of posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) rupture on lateral meniscus.

Method: The stresses of anterior horn, caudomedial part and posterior horn of lateral meniscus in cadaveric knees were recorded when the knee joints were loaded 200 to 1000 N at 0, 30, 60 and 90° of flexion. Twelve knees were tested before PCL transection (intact group), and 6 each were then tested after anterolateral bundle (ALB group) and postmedial bundle (PMB group) transection.

To discuss the risk factors and characteristics of coronary artery disease of Han, Uygur and Kazak patients with acute myocardial infarction in Xinjiang district. A retrospective analysis of clinical data of 262 cases of Han patients, 166 cases of Uygur patients and 86 cases of Kazak patients was conducted, whose age, body mass index, cholesterol, uric acid, hypertension, type 2 diabetes, smoking, drinking, family history of coronary heart disease, relationship between PCI history and pathogenesis of acute myocardial infarction, and coronary artery disease characteristics were observed and compared in different groups. Between the Han and minority young patients, there were statistically significant differences in the distribution of BMI, lipoprotein a, positive family history of coronary heart disease, uric acid level, the combined aspects of smoking history (P<0.

Bone Morphogenetic Protein 2 (BMP-2) plays a key role in skeletal development, repair and regeneration. Our previous studies indicate that recombinant human BMP-2 (rhBMP-2) can stimulate osteogenic differentiation and promote angiogenesis through the up-regulation of Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF), while the underlying mechanism of the BMP-2 effect on human cells is not well understood. To gain a better understanding of BMP-2-induced angiogenesis, we further characterized the effect of rhBMP-2 on VEGF expression in human adipose-derived stromal cells (hASCs) by RT-PCR and ELISA.
