Prediction Distribution Model of Moisture Content in Laminated Wood Components.

Polymers (Basel)

May 2024

School of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Xinjiang University, Urumqi 830047, China.

Shrinkage cracks are some of the most common defects in timber structures obtained from woods with an uneven distribution of moisture content and are subject to external dynamic environmental changes. To accurately predict the changes in the moisture content of wood components at any time and position, this study first applied the principles of food drying and established a moisture field model for laminated wood based on the analogy between heat and humidity transfer. A model for predicting the moisture content of wood that considers time and spatial distribution was then proposed.

Vinylcyclopropane-Cyclopentene (VCP-CP) Rearrangement Enabled by Pyridine-Assisted Boronyl Radical Catalysis.

Org Lett

June 2024

School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering/State Key Laboratory Incubation Base for Green Processing of Chemical Engineering, Shihezi University, Shihezi 832003, China.

An unprecedented VCP-CP (vinylcyclopropane-cyclopentene) rearrangement approach has been established herein by virtue of the pyridine-boronyl radical catalyzed intramolecular ring expansions. This metal-free radical pathway harnesses readily available catalysts and unactivated vinylcyclopropane starting materials, providing an array of cyclopentene derivatives chemoselectively under relatively mild conditions. Mechanistic studies support the idea that the boronyl radical engages in the generation of allylic/ketyl radical species, thus inducing the ring opening of cyclopropanes and the following intramolecular cyclization processes.

Background: Pulmonary function is very important for the healthy development of children and adolescents. However, fewer studies have been conducted on pulmonary function trends in children and adolescents in remote areas. The aim of this study was to estimate the forced vital capacity (FVC) trend and its relationship with body mass index (BMI) among young people in Xinjiang during 1985-2014 using data from seven successive national surveys.

To address the current problems of low accuracy and poor reliability of the discrete element model of cotton stalks, as well as the difficulty of guiding the design and optimization of the equipment through simulations, the discrete element modeling and physical-mechanical tests of cotton stalks in machine harvested film-stalk mixtures are carried out. The peak tensile force , the peak pressure , the peak bending force , the peak shear force , and the force-displacement (F-x) curves of cotton stalks are obtained from the physical tests. The discrete element model of double-layer cotton stalks based on the flat-joint model is established with the PFC software.

The backfill mining of coal-based solid waste in goaf poses a potential risk of heavy metal pollution to the groundwater environment, and the migration behavior of heavy metals differs significantly under the disturbance of backfill mining in close-distance multi-layer coal seams and single-layer coal seams. In this study, a migration model of heavy metals after solid backfilling in the goaf of shallow-buried close-distance thick coal seams was established, and the impact of the overburden damage and the layered distribution of the filling body on the long-term migration behavior of heavy metals were analyzed. The results show that the migration of heavy metals after close-distance coal seam backfill mining exhibits a higher risk of heavy metal pollution.

Due to its advantages of having a high power-to-weight ratio and being energy-efficient, the electro-hydraulic servo pump control system (abbreviated as EHSPCS) is frequently employed in the industrial field, such as the electro-hydraulic servo pump control (EHSPC) servomotor for steam turbine valve regulation control. However, the EHSPCS has strong nonlinearity and time-varying features, and the factors that cause system performance degradation are complex. Once a system failure occurs, it may lead to serious accidents, causing serious casualties and economic losses.

Current Status and Perspectives of Dual-Atom Catalysts Towards Sustainable Energy Utilization.

Nanomicro Lett

February 2024

State Key Laboratory of Chemical Resource Engineering, Beijing Advanced Innovation Center for Soft Matter Science Engineering, College of Chemistry, Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Beijing, 100029, People's Republic of China.

The exploration of sustainable energy utilization requires the implementation of advanced electrochemical devices for efficient energy conversion and storage, which are enabled by the usage of cost-effective, high-performance electrocatalysts. Currently, heterogeneous atomically dispersed catalysts are considered as potential candidates for a wide range of applications. Compared to conventional catalysts, atomically dispersed metal atoms in carbon-based catalysts have more unsaturated coordination sites, quantum size effect, and strong metal-support interactions, resulting in exceptional catalytic activity.

This research aims to conduct a comprehensive investigation and analysis of the effects of particle size and concentration on crucial explosion parameters in -decane aerosols. Two sets of -decane aerosols with different concentrations were initially measured, with Sauter mean diameters of 22 and 38 μm, respectively. These measurements served as the foundation for understanding the impact of the particle size on explosion parameters.

Research on coal mining intensity based on the DPSIR-SPA model.

Environ Sci Pollut Res Int

March 2024

Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, 55455, USA.

High-intensity mining has become a major trend in future coal mining. However, it will unavoidably worsen the harm done to the natural environment of mining sites by coal mining, which is already prone to doing so. So, how may coal mining intensity (CMI) be decreased? Minimize the harm that coal mining causes to the environment and offer a theoretical basis for protecting the environment in mining sites.

The consensus problem of discrete time-varying linear multi-agent systems (MASs) is studied in this paper. First, an event-triggered intermittent control (ETIC) protocol is designed, aided by a class of auxiliary functions. Under this protocol, some sufficient conditions for all agents to achieve consensus are established by constructing an error dynamical system and applying the Lyapunov function.

January 2024

State Key Laboratory of Chemistry and Utilization of Carbon Based Energy Resources, Key Laboratory of Oil and Gas Fine Chemicals, Ministry of Education and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, School of Chemical Engineering and Technology, Xinjiang University, Urumqi 830017, Xinjiang, China. Electronic address:

Poly(lactic acid) (PLA) has its own limitations in terms of slow crystallization rate and low crystallinity during processing, resulting in poor toughness and thermal stability, which seriously restricts the practical application of PLA. Blending nanoparticles into the PLA matrix is an effective way to improve PLA crystallization. In this study, carbon dots (CDs) were prepared by green oxidation using weathered coal as carbon source and then surface-modified with dodecylamine (DDA) and octadecylamine (ODA).

Although 2D MoS alone shows excellent gas-sensing performance, it is prone to stacking when used as the sensitive layer, resulting in insufficient contact with the target gas and lower sensitivity. To solve this, a 2D-MoS/1D-CuPc heterojunction was prepared with different weight ratios of MoS nanosheets to CuPc micro-nanowires, and its room-temperature gas-sensing properties were studied. The response of the 2D-MoS/1D-CuPc heterojunction to a target gas was related to the weight ratio of MoS to CuPc.

This study aims to investigate the evolution patterns of fluidity and rheological properties of AASCM under varying dosages of foaming agent and particle sizes of filling aggregate. The flow characteristics of AASCM are significantly affected by the filling aggregate's size and the foaming agent's dosage. Specifically, an increase in filling aggregate size (D(4,3) ϵ [26 μm, 69 μm]) enhances the fluidity of foamed AASCM, while an increase in foaming agent dosage reduces fluidity.
