Objective: The main objectives of the study were to investigate the reliability and accuracy of cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) in the diagnosis of adenoid hypertrophy in Chinese children and to evaluate its value in clinical diagnosis.
Methods: From January 2019 to January 2020, 300 children with sleep snoring in Xinhua Hospital Affiliated to Medical College of Shanghai Jiaotong University were retrospectively studied. All patients underwent nasopharyngoscopy (NE) and CBCT scanning.

The low immunogenicity, insufficient infiltration of T lymphocytes, and dismal response to immune checkpoint blockade therapy pose major difficulties in immunotherapy of pancreatic cancer. Photoimmunotherapy by photodynamic therapy (PDT) can induce an antitumor immune response by triggering immunogenic cell death in the tumor cells. Notwithstanding, PDT-driven oxygen consumption and microvascular damage can further aggravate hypoxia to exaggerates glycolysis, leading to lactate accumulation and immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment.

The presentation of multiple café-au-lait macules (CALMs) in children is a common reason for referral to a dermatologist. Segmental CALMs, a subtype of CALMs, is usually limited to a specific part of the body. Mosaic neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1; OMIM 162200) is a common congenital disorder associated with segmental CALMs with an incidence of about 1 case/40000 patients, which is lower than the prevalence of patients with germline NF1 mutations .

Aim: To evaluate the efficacy of tumor necrosis factor inhibitor infliximab in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) who were disease-resistant to recombinant human interleukin-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1Ra).
Methods: A total of 104 patients with active RA despite methotrexate (MTX) treatment were enrolled in the open trial. Among them, 27 IL-1Ra nonresponders 'Switchers' and 51 biologic-naive patients 'Naivers' received an infusion of 3 mg/kg infliximab at weeks 0, 2, 6 and 14, combined with concurrent MTX therapy, while the other 26 patients who had never received any biologics 'Controls' continued MTX monotherapy.

Hemimasticatory spasm is a rare disease; with little knowledge of the pathogenesis, it has still been intractable today. We presented a 56-year-old woman with involuntary painful spasm in her left masseter muscle for 11 years. The patient was successfully treated with microvascular decompression surgery.

Synuclein gamma (SNCG), previously identified as breast cancer-specific gene 1, is highly expressed in malignant cells but not in normal epithelium. Studies have demonstrated that the expression of SNCG is an independent predictive marker for recurrence and metastasis in breast cancer. Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is characterized by a lack of expression of both the estrogen receptor and progesterone receptor proteins as well as HER-2 and is often associated with particularly poor outcomes, early development of chemotherapy resistance, and ineffectiveness of targeted therapy.

Objective: To discuss a combination of high-resolution ultrasound and electrophysiological examination in diagnosis and evaluation of ulnar nerve entrapment at the elbow.
Method: We retrospectively reviewed 20 healthy volunteers and 278 patients of ulnar nerve entrapment divided into three groups by McGowan grade, and we treated patients with subcutaneous or modified submuscular ulnar nerve transposition randomly. All the patients were followed for 2 years.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the feasibility and optimization of protocols using superparamagnetic iron oxide (SPIO) nanoparticles to label human prostate cancer cell lines PC3 in vitro. The PC3 cells were labeled with different concentrations (28-252 μg Fe/mL) of SPIO and increasing incubation time (6-24 hours), in the presence or absence of a transfection agent poly-l-lysine (PLL). The cell labeling efficiency was analyzed by Prussian blue stain method.

A fractured vertebra does not transfer load as effectively as the intact vertebra. Patients who undergo surgery using short-segment pedicle screw instrumentation for middle-column injury may experience implant failure when vertebral body comminution is ignored. The purpose of this study was to investigate biomechanical effects of the extent of vertebral body fracture on the thoracolumbar spine after pedicle screw fixation and to evaluate the biomechanical role of anterior reconstruction.
