Introduction: This study examined the interplay between parenting styles, empathy, and aggressive behavior in Chinese preschool children aged 3-5 years.

Methods: Data were collected from 87 participants using the Child Behavior Checklist, Children's Empathy Quotient, and Parenting Style Questionnaire, and were subsequently analyzed.

Results: The findings revealed significant age and gender differences in empathy, but not in parenting styles or aggressive behavior.

Injectable Supramolecular Hydrogels for In Situ Programming of Car-T Cells toward Solid Tumor Immunotherapy.

Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-T cell immunotherapy is approved in the treatment of hematological malignancies, but remains far from satisfactory in solid tumor treatment due to inadequate intra-tumor CAR-T cell infiltration. Herein, an injectable supramolecular hydrogel system, based on self-assembly between cationic polymer mPEG-PCL-PEI (PPP) conjugated with T cell targeting anti-CD3e f(ab')2 fragment and α-cyclodextrin (α-CD), is designed to load plasmid CAR (pCAR) with a T cell specific CD2 promoter, which successfully achieves in situ fabrication and effective accumulation of CAR-T cells at the tumor site in humanized mice models. More importantly, due to this tumor microenvironment reprogramming, secretion of cellular inflammatory cytokines (interleukin-2 (IL-2), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), and interferon-γ (IFN-γ)) or tumor killer protein granzyme B is significantly promoted, which reverses the immunosuppressive microenvironment and significantly enhances the intra-tumor CAR-T cells and cytotoxic T cells infiltration.

White matter alterations in mild cognitive impairment revealed by meta-analysis of diffusion tensor imaging using tract-based spatial statistics.

The neuropathological mechanism of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) remains unclarified. Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) studies revealed white matter (WM) microarchitecture alterations in MCI, but consistent findings and conclusions have not yet been drawn. The present coordinate-based meta-analysis (CBMA) of tract-based spatial statistics (TBSS) studies aimed to identify the most prominent and robust WM abnormalities in patients with MCI.

Comparative analysis of automatic segmentation of esophageal cancer using 3D Res-UNet on conventional and 40-keV virtual mono-energetic CT Images: a retrospective study.

Objectives: To assess the performance of 3D Res-UNet for fully automated segmentation of esophageal cancer (EC) and compare the segmentation accuracy between conventional images (CI) and 40-keV virtual mono-energetic images (VMI).

Methods: Patients underwent spectral CT scanning and diagnosed of EC by operation or gastroscope biopsy in our hospital from 2019 to 2020 were analyzed retrospectively. All artery spectral base images were transferred to the dedicated workstation to generate VMI and CI.

Background: The neurobiological pathogenesis of major depression disorder (MDD) remains largely controversial. Previous literatures with limited sample size utilizing group-level structural covariance networks (SCN) commonly generated mixed findings regarding the topology of brain networks.

Methods: We analyzed T1 images from a high-powered multisite sample including 1173 patients with MDD and 1019 healthy controls (HCs).

[Effects of CUMS on excitatory/inhibitory balance of hippocampal and prefrontal cortex pyramidal neurons in anxiety-like mice].

To explore the changes in the excitatory/inhibitory (E/I) balance of pyramidal neurons in prefrontal cortex and hippocampus in mice with anxiety disorder induced by chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS). Twenty-four C57/BL6 male mice were randomly divided into control group (CTRL) and model group (CUMS), with 12 mice in each group. The mice in CUMS group were subjected to 21 days of stress, including restraint for 1 h, reversed day/night cycle for 24 h, forced warm water bath for 5 min, water/food deprivation for 24 h, housing in wet sawdust for 18 h, shaking the cage for 30 min, noise for 1 h, and social stress for 10 min.

Internet addiction and residual depressive symptoms among clinically stable adolescents with major psychiatric disorders during the COVID-19 pandemic: a network analysis perspective.

To assess the inter-relationships between residual depressive symptoms (RDS) and Internet addiction (IA) using network analysis among clinically stable adolescents with major psychiatric disorders during the COVID-19 pandemic. RDS and IA were assessed using the Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) and the Internet Addiction Test (IAT), respectively. Central symptoms and bridge symptoms in the network model were examined.

Background: The importance of inflammation in thrombosis is increasingly appreciated. Neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and monocyte to high-density lipoprotein ratio (MHR) are important indicators of systemic inflammation. This study aimed to investigate the associations between NLR and MHR with left atrial appendage thrombus (LAAT) and spontaneous echo contrast (SEC) in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation.

Background: Previous studies have suggested that dietary salt intake affects atrial fibrillation (AF); however, the causal association between them still remains unclear. Thus, we conducted this Mendelian randomization (MR) study to explore the correlation between them.

Methods: Genetic instruments for dietary salt intake were from a genome-wide association study (GWAS), which included 462,630 European individuals.

Method: The seed-based mapping (SDM) software was applied to compare regional fractional anisotropy (FA) alterations in ADHD. Subgroup meta-analyses in the pure ADHD without comorbidity subgroup, the children and adolescents subgroup, and the adults subgroup were also explored, respectively.

Childhood maltreatment has been suggested to have an adverse impact on neurodevelopment, including microstructural brain abnormalities. Existing neuroimaging findings remain inconsistent and heterogeneous. We aim to explore the most prominent and robust cortical thickness (CTh) and gray matter volume (GMV) alterations associated with childhood maltreatment.

Potential drug-drug interactions in outpatients with depression of a psychiatry department.

Objective: This study aims to explore the prevalence and associated risk factors for potential drug-drug interactions (pDDIs) in prescriptions among outpatients with depression, and report the widespread relevant drug interactions.

Methods: The cross-sectional retrospective study was conducted on outpatients in a psychiatric hospital. We included prescriptions of outpatients with a principal diagnosis of depression from April 1st to June 30th in 2021.

A comparative study of cognitive functions between schizophrenia and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

Background: Schizophrenia (SZ) and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) are closely linked, have a high comorbidity rate, and their differential diagnosis is challenging in clinic. Some studies have found common cognitive deficits in some domains between them. The goal of this research was to compare the cognitive functions of SZ and OCD in order to offer a clinical foundation for differential diagnosis and treatment of the two disorders.

Cyberbully victimization and its association with residual depressive symptoms among clinically stable adolescents with psychiatric disorders during the COVID-19 pandemic: A perspective from network analysis.

Objective: This study examined the prevalence of cyberbullying and its relationship with residual depressive symptoms in this patient population during the COVID-19 outbreak using network analysis.

Methods: This was a multicenter, cross-sectional study. Adolescent patients attending maintenance treatment at outpatient departments of three major psychiatric hospitals were included.

Background: Desvenlafaxine and duloxetine are selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors. Their efficacy has not been directly compared using statistical hypotheses. This study evaluated the non-inferiority of desvenlafaxine extended-release (XL) to duloxetine in patients with major depressive disorder (MDD).

miR-124 Exacerbates depressive-like behavior by targeting Ezh2 to induce autophagy.

On the basis of our previous research, miR-124 and autophagy have been shown to be associated with depression and antidepressant treatment, respectively. However, whether miR-124 is involved in depressive-like behavior and antidepressant efficacy through regulating autophagy remains poorly understood. The chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS) depression model in mice was established, and then intraperitoneal fluoxetine injections (10 mg/kg) were administered for a duration of 4 weeks.

Childhood experiences and needs of offspring living with paternal and maternal severe mental illness: A retrospective study in China.

Objective: Parental mental illness is considered one of the strongest risk factors for the development of children. This study aimed to describe the adverse childhood experiences and needs of offspring living with parental severe mental illness (SMI) in China and to compare the differences in needs between offspring living with maternal SMI and those living with paternal SMI.

Method: Overall, 381 participants, including 76 living with paternal SMI, 104 living with maternal SMI, and 201 living without parental mental illness, were enrolled.

Serum metabolic signatures of schizophrenia patients complicated with hepatitis B virus infection: A H NMR-based metabolomics study.

Introduction: Schizophrenia (SZ) is a severe chronic mental disorder with increased risk of hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection, which is incurable currently and induces various negative emotions and psychological pressures in patients to exacerbate mental disorders. To facilitate the therapeutic design for SZ patients complicated with HBV infection (SZ + HBV), it is helpful to first elucidate the metabolic perturbations in SZ + HBV patients.

Methods: In this study, metabolic profiles of the serum samples from four groups of participants comprising healthy controls (HC, = 72), HBV infection ( = 52), SZ patients ( = 37), and SZ + HBV ( = 41) patients were investigated using a high-resolution H NMR-based metabolomics approach.

Changed epidemiology of narcolepsy before, during, and after the 2009 H1N1 pandemic: a nationwide narcolepsy surveillance network study in mainland China, 1990-2017.
