Preparation and characteristics of sodium alginate/Na(+)rectorite-g-itaconic acid/acrylamide hydrogel films.

Sodium alginate/Na(+)rectorite-graft-itaconic acid/acrylamide (SA/Na(+)REC-g-IA/AM) hydrogel film was prepared via solution polymerization. The effect of Na(+)REC, KPS, and NMBA content and the ratio of IA to AM on graft ratio, graft efficiency and absorption of liquids were investigated. The structure and morphology were analyzed by FTIR, XRD, TEM and SEM.

Role of calcitonin gene-related peptide in cardioprotection of short-term and long-term exercise preconditioning.

Purpose: To examine the role of calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) in cardioprotection of short-term and long-term exercise preconditioning (EP).

Methods: Male Sprague-Dawley rats were, respectively, subjected to continuous intermittent treadmill training 3 days or 3 weeks as short-term or long-term EP protocols. The myocardial injury induced by isoproterenol (ISO) was performed 24 hours after short-term and long-term EP.

In the title compound, [Cu(C(13)H(7)BrCl(2)NO)(2)], or CuL(2) {where HL= 2-[(E)-(2-chloro-phenyl-imino)-meth-yl]-6-bromo-4-chloro-phenol}, the Cu(II) atom is located on an inversion center and has a square-planar coordination. In the crystal, complex mol-ecules are linked via Cu⋯Cl inter-actions [2.9933 (11) Å], forming a two-dimensional network parallel to the bc plane.

An ionic liquid supported CeO nanoparticles-carbon nanotubes composite-enhanced electrochemical DNA-based sensor for the detection of Pb.

An electrochemical sensor incorporating a signal enhancement for the determination of lead (II) ions (Pb) was designed on the basis of the thrombin-binding aptamer (TBA) as a molecular recognition element and ionic liquid supported cerium oxide (CeO) nanoparticles-carbon nanotubes composite modification. The composite comprises nanoparticles CeO, multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) and hydrophobic room temperature ionic liquid (RTIL) 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate (EMIMBF). The electrochemical sensors were fabricated by immersing the CeO-MWNTs-EMIMBF modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE) into the solution of TBA probe.

[Lifting-thrusting and rotating manipulations: a comparison on energy input].

Through the energy input model of lifting-thrusting and rotating manipulations, using the theory of energy density, energy flux density and sound intensity level in physics, the average energy flux intensity and frequency distributions of average poynting's vector were calculated respectively within the range of infrasound. According to the distribution table, it was discovered that both of the energy flux density and sound intensity level during the process of acupuncture were high. And it was concluded that the essence of meridians was probably fascial tissues which were rich in elastic fibers and collagenous fibers.

Diterpenoid alkaloids from a Tibetan medicinal plant var. and their cytotoxic activity.

The chemical constituents from var. were investigated. The roots of this plant were extracted three times with 90% EtOH at the room temperature.

The Mn(II) atom in the title compound, [Mn(C(5)H(4)N(3)O(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)], exhibits an octa-hedral geometry comprising the two O atoms and two N atoms from two 3-amino-pyrazine-2-carboxyl-ate ligands, which act as chelating ligands, and two water mol-ecules. An intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond occurs. In the crystal, N-H⋯O, O-H⋯N and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link adjacent mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network.

Eco-environmental degradation in the source region of the Yellow River, Northeast Qinghai-Xizang Plateau.

The Yellow River is the second longest river in China and the cradle of the Chinese civilization. The source region of the Yellow River is the most important water holding area for the Yellow River, about 49.2% of the whole runoff comes from this region.
