Molecules

November 2024

State Key Laboratory of Precision Spectroscopy, School of Physics and Electronic Science, East China Normal University, Shanghai 200241, China.

Quantum heat engines (QHEs) are established by applying the principles of quantum thermodynamics to small-scale systems, which leverage quantum effects to gain certain advantages. In this study, we investigate the quantum Otto cycle by employing the dipole-dipole coupled polar molecules as the working substance of QHE. Here, the molecules are considered to be trapped within an optical lattice and located in an external electric field.

The L-shell x-ray emission of tellurium induced by H ions impact is investigated in an energy range of 150-300 keV. The blue shifts of various L-subshell x rays and the enhancement of the relative intensity ratios of Lι, Lβ to Lα x ray are observed and interpreted by the multiple ionization of outer-shell electrons. The new experimental x-ray production cross sections, which almost correspond to those of protons with half of the original energy, are extracted and compared with various theoretical estimations.

Gas-insulated switchgear (GIS) plays an important role as a modern power distribution device in power plants and power stations, which is commonly filled with SF insulating gas. During the equipment operation, the inevitable partial discharge causes SF to be broken down into gas (SF, SOF, SO, and HS), which degrades the insulation performance of the GIS. This paper is devoted to the detection of partial discharge and the removal of SF and SOF, which are not conducive to insulation, by exploring new gas-sensing materials for characteristic gas detection.

Facile synthesis of sulfur quantum dots with red light emission: Implications for electrochemiluminescence analysis application.

Spectrochim Acta A Mol Biomol Spectrosc

December 2024

School of Integrated Circuits and Electronics, Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing 100081, China. Electronic address:

Sulfur quantum dots (SQDs) have been reported as a potential candidate due to their low toxicity and high luminescent performance. Here, SQDs with red light fluorescence (FL) emission were synthesized by a one-step hydrothermal method using NaCO as an etching agent, using sublimed sulfur powder as a sulfur source, and using bovine serum albumin (BSA) as a stabilizer. The choice of etching agent (NaOH or NaCO) realized the tuning of SQDs' FL emission with blue and red light.

In recent years, due to the abuse of antibiotics, nitro explosives and pesticides, which have caused great harm to the environment and human health, social concerns have prompted researchers to develop more sensitive detection platforms for these pollutants. In this paper, a novel two-dimensional Zn (II) coordination polymer, [Zn(L)(1,2-bimb)]·DMF (1), [HL=[1,1':4',1''-terphenyl]-2, 2'',4, 4'' -tetracarboxylic acid, 1,2-bimb = 1,2-bis(imidazol-1-ylmethyl)benzene] was synthesized using a hydro-solvothermal method. Among commonly used organic solvents, 1 exhibits significant stability.

We propose a scheme for achieving basic quantum gates using ultracold polar molecules in pendular states. The qubits are encoded in the YbF molecules trapped in an electric field with a certain gradient and coupled by the dipole-dipole interaction. The time-dependent control sequences consisting of multiple pulses are considered to interact with the pendular qubits.
