This study aimed to construct a clinical prediction model for osteosarcoma patients to evaluate the influence factors for the occurrence of lymph node metastasis (LNM). In our retrospective study, a total of 1,256 patients diagnosed with chondrosarcoma were enrolled from the SEER (Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results) database (training cohort, = 1,144) and multicenter dataset (validation cohort, = 112). Both the univariate and multivariable logistic regression analysis were performed to identify the potential risk factors of LNM in osteosarcoma patients.

Sepsis is defined as an infection that causes the immune system to attack the body, subsequently leading to death. Some findings suggest that there is a high level of correlation between tumor necrosis factor (TNF) activity and susceptibility to sepsis. We used MEDLINE, Scopus and Web of Science databases to conduct an automated search covering the years 2000-2019.

A new platform for untargeted UHPLC-HRMS data analysis to address the time-shift problem.

Anal Chim Acta

February 2022

The Modernization Engineering Technology Research Center of Ethnic Minority Medicine of Hubei Province, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, South-Central University for Nationalities, Wuhan, 430074, PR China.

Substantial deviations in retention times among samples pose a great challenge for the accurate screening and identifying of metabolites by ultrahigh-performance liquid chromatography high-resolution mass spectrometry (UHPLC-HRMS). In this study, a coarse-to-refined time-shift correction methodology was proposed to efficiently address this problem. Metabolites producing multiple fragment ions were automatically selected as landmarks to generate pseudo-mass spectra for a coarse time-shift correction.

This study was to explore the adoption effect of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) image features based on back propagation neural network (BPNN) in evaluating the curative effect of Chengqi Decoction (CD) for intestinal obstruction (ileus), so as to evaluate the clinical adoption value of this algorithm. Ninety patients with ileus were recruited, and the patients were treated with CD and underwent MRI scans of the lower abdomen. A BPNN model was fabricated and applied to segment the MRI images of patients and identify the lesion.

Hepatic epithelioid hemangioendothelioma (HEHE) is a very rare vascular endothelial cell tumor, which lacks typical clinical manifestations and specificity of imaging features. Whether the background of fatty liver and the difference in Contrast enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) characteristics between large and small lesions has not been well defined. In this case reports, we described the ultrasound image features of three patients with HEHE.

Background: Currently, colorectal cancer has become a common gastrointestinal malignancy that usually occurs in the colon and rectum, and ferroptosis plays a vital role in the pathology and progression of colorectal tumors.

Methods: A total of 627 patients (51 normal and 644 tumor samples) from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA)-COAD and TCGA-READ were included in the study. Lasso and Cox's regression was employed to analyze the characteristic lncRNAs in colorectal cancer samples, and a distinctive prognostic model of ferroptosis-related lncRNAs was established.

Bone cement leakage is a common complication of percutaneous vertebroplasty and it could be life-threatening to some extent. The aim of this study was to develop a machine learning model for predicting the risk of cement leakage in patients with osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures undergoing percutaneous vertebroplasty. Furthermore, we developed an online calculator for clinical application.

IRF4-activated TEX41 promotes the malignant behaviors of melanoma cells by targeting miR-103a-3p/C1QB axis.

BMC Cancer

December 2021

Department of Plastic and Burn Surgery, West China Hospital, West China School of Medicine, Sichuan University, 610041, Chengdu, Sichuan, China.

Background: Malignant melanoma is an aggressive skin cancer and a tumor of melanocytic origin. Recent studies have suggested that long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play crucial regulatory roles in multiple malignancies, including melanoma. Testis expressed 41 (TEX41) is a relatively new lncRNA whose mechanism in melanoma remains vague.

Department of Pathophysiology, School of Basic Medicine, Shaanxi University of Chinese Medicine, Xianyang, Shaanxi 712046, China.

Objective: To analyze the effects of high-fat diet on the biological network regulation of gene expression microarray data and key proteins in mouse prostate tissue, and provide some new theoretical evidence for the mechanism of obesity inducing PCa.

Methods: From the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO), we obtained RNAs in the prostate tissue from two groups of C57BL / 6J mice, the normal diet group (n = 5) and high-fat diet group (n = 4). Using the Gene Cloud, Gene-Cloud of Biotechnology Informs (GCBI), GenClip2.
