Global trends in thyroid cancer 1990-2021: an analysis based on the GBD 2021.

This study evaluated the global burden of thyroid cancer (TC) from 1990 to 2021, analyzing its association with sociodemographic factors, sex, age, risk factors, and future projections. Using 2021 Global Burden of Disease data, we analyzed TC incidence, mortality, and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs) across populations. Risk factors were assessed, and future trends forecasted using the Bayesian age-period-cohort model.

Rationale: Patients with schizophrenia with second-generation antipsychotics (SGAs) treatment have shown an increased risk of bone fragility and susceptibility to fracture; however, it is still unclear whether this risk is derived from the effect of antipsychotics on balance of bone metabolism.

Objectives: We investigated the changes of two bone turnover biomarkers (BTMs) concentrations in people with schizophrenia receiving SGAs: procollagen type I aminoterminal propeptide (PINP) and C-terminal telopeptide of type I collagen (CTX-1) as BTMs of osteogenesis and bone resorption, respectively, to explore how antipsychotics contribute to bone fragility.

Methods: We recruited 59 Chinese male patients with schizophrenia (32 drug-naïve first-episode (DNFE) patients and 27 chronic patients) to undergo 8 weeks SGAs treatment.

Background: There is a lack of large multicenter Parkinson's disease (PD) cohort studies and limited data on the natural history of PD in China.

Objectives: The objective of this study was to launch the Chinese Parkinson's Disease Registry (CPDR) and to report its protocol, cross-sectional baseline data, and prospects for a comprehensive observational, longitudinal, multicenter study.

Methods: The CPDR recruited PD patients from 19 clinical sites across China between January 2018 and December 2020.

Purpose: An increasing number of studies have shown that insulinoma-associated protein 1 (INSM1) is a robust marker for the diagnosis of gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP-NEN). The overall diagnostic accuracy of INSM1 for GEP-NEN remains unclear. The purpose of this study is to estimate the diagnostic value of INSM1 for GEP-NEN through a meta-analysis.

Objective: This study was designed to analyze the clinical efficacy of ceftazidime combined with levofloxacin on heart failure complicated with pulmonary infection and its influence on cardiopulmonary function.

Methods: A total of 124 patients with heart failure and pulmonary infection admitted to our hospital from June 2018 to October 2019 were divided into groups according to different treatment schemes. Thereinto, 60 patients who were given ceftazidime intravenous drip on the basis of routine treatment were included in group A, and 64 who were given levofloxacin hydrochloride injection based on intravenous drip in group A were included in group B.

Generalized chest CT and lab curves throughout the course of COVID-19.

A better understanding of temporal relationships between chest CT and labs may provide a reference for disease severity over the disease course. Generalized curves of lung opacity volume and density over time can be used as standardized references from well before symptoms develop to over a month after recovery, when residual lung opacities remain. 739 patients with COVID-19 underwent CT and RT-PCR in an outbreak setting between January 21st and April 12th, 2020.

Herein, we report on the design and development of functionalized acrylic polymeric nanoparticles with Spiropyrans (SPs) and imidazole moieties via superficial polymerizations. Then, Au ions were immobilized and reduced on their surface to obtain photoresponsive gold-decorated polymer nanoparticles(Au-NPs). The synthesized Au-NPs were surface adapted with biotin as specific targeting tumor penetration cells and enhance the intercellular uptake through the endocytosis.
