Background: Pulmonary spindle cell carcinoma (PSCC), a highly malignant tumor, often exhibits cell pleomorphism, a histopathological characteristic. Owing to its extremely low incidence, atypical imaging and clinical presentations, and insufficient awareness among clinicians, PSCC is often misdiagnosed, which results in delays in treatment. Herein, we reported a rare case of PSCC that was initially misdiagnosed as granulomatous inflammation.

Objective: To explore whether early quantitative electroencephalograph (EEG) can predict the development of epilepsy in pediatric patients with severe traumatic brain injury (TBI).
Methods: A total of 78 children with severe TBI who were admitted to our hospital were divided into post-traumatic epilepsy (PTE) and non-PTE groups according to whether or not they developed PTE. EEGs of frontal, central and parietal lobes were recorded at the time of their admission.

Background: Various epigenetic regulations systematically govern gene expression in cells involving various biological processes. Dysregulation of the epigenome leads to aberrant transcriptional programs and subsequently results in diseases, such as cancer. Therefore, comprehensive profiling epigenomics is essential for exploring the mechanisms underlying gene expression regulation during development and disease.

Importance: In several randomized clinical trials, endovascular thrombectomy led to better functional outcomes than conventional treatment at 90 days poststroke in patients with acute basilar artery occlusion. However, the long-term clinical outcomes of these patients have not been well delineated.
Objective: To evaluate 1-year clinical outcomes in patients with acute basilar artery occlusion following endovascular thrombectomy vs control.

Rationale: Although Naomaitai capsule (NMC) is widely used in clinical practice and has a good curative effect for cerebral infarction, its material basis and mechanism of action remain unclear.
Methods: In this study, ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography (UHPLC) coupled with quadrupole Orbitrap MS technology was used to analyse the in vivo and in vitro components of NMC, and the Global Natural Products Social Molecular Networking website was used to further analyse the components of NMC. Next, systems biology approaches were employed to investigate the mechanism of action of NMC.

Endoplasmic reticulum stress may affect the occurrence and development of cancer. However, its effect on the prognosis of colon cancer (CC) patients is not clear yet. Herein, based on TCGA database, we screened 15 endoplasmic reticulum stress responsive genes (ERSRGs) associated with the prognosis of CC patients by Cox regression.

The pathophysiology of hypertrophic scar (HS) shares similarities with cancer. HOXC10, a gene significantly involved in cancer development, exhibits higher expression levels in HS than in normal skin (NS), suggesting its potential role in HS regulation. And the precise functions and mechanisms by which HOXC10 influences HS require further clarification.

Background: Pressure ulcer (PU) is known to be associated with abnormalities of micronutrient status. However, to date, it is not clear whether a causal relationship exists between circulating levels of micronutrients and their supplementations and PU.
Methods: A two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) study was conducted using summary statistics from Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS).

Background: A growing corpus of research has revealed that circular RNAs (circRNAs) have become increasingly important for the growth of malignancies in recent years. CircRNAs as ideal candidates for breast cancer (BC) therapeutic targets is still absent.
Methods: In our study, the dysregulated circRNAs in BC progression were explored, we analysed the BC's circRNA expression profiles using publicly available datasets (GSE101124 and GSE101122).

Low adherence to hospital-based cardiac rehabilitation has been observed in patients after percutaneous coronary intervention. The effectiveness of home-based cardiac telerehabilitation in this setting is unclear. This study aimed to investigate the impact of home-based cardiac telerehabilitation on exercise endurance, disease burden status, cardiac function, and quality of life in patients after percutaneous coronary intervention.

Background: Eosinophilic solid and cystic renal cell carcinoma (ESC-RCC) is a novel subtype of renal cell carcinoma characterized by its relatively low incidence and indolent behavior. We report a rare case of ESC-RCC concurrent with clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) in a single kidney.
Case Presentation: A 48-year-old male, was found to have a mixed echogenic mass in the left kidney during a physical examination.

Studies have shown that the inhibition of phosphatase and tensin homolog deleted on chromosome 10 (PTEN)was neuroprotective against ischemia/reperfusion(I/R) injury. Bisperoxovanadium (bpV), a derivative of vanadate, is a well-established inhibitor of PTEN. However, its function islimited due to its general inadequacy in penetrating cell membranes.

Epimedium is thought to enhance the integrity of tendons and bones, ease joint discomfort and rigidity and enhance kidney function. Although glucocorticoids are commonly used in clinical practice, the mechanism by which the active compound Epimedin C (EC) alleviates glucocorticoid-induced osteoporosis (GIOP) is not well understood. The therapeutic potential of EC in treating GIOP was evaluated using alizarin red S staining, calcein immersion and fluorescence imaging, and bone mineralization, bone mass accumulation and bone density in zebrafish larvae were determined.

This role encompasses immune evasion, promotion of angiogenesis, stimulation of cancer cell proliferation, correlation with cancer stem cells, multilineage differentiation within the TME, and development of treatment resistance. Simultaneously, extensive research is exploring the homing effect of MSCs and MSC-derived extracellular vesicles (MSCs-EVs) in tumors, aiming to design them as carriers for antitumor substances.
