October 2020

Department of Pathology, Hunan Cancer Hospital/the Affiliated Cancer Hospital of Xiangya Medical School, Central South University, Changsha, China.

Transoral endoscopic thyroidectomy vestibular approach (TOETVA) has recently become a hot research topic due to the advantage of leaving no scar, but, according to most centers, its indication is restricted to the size of thyroid gland. Here we report a case of a female patient with Class III goitre who successfully underwent TOETVA (video attached). A 53-year-old woman with a previous history of chest keloidosis presented with a history of neck swelling for 3 years and was diagnosed as Hashimoto's thyroiditis with no nodules.

Department of Respiratory Disease, Thoracic Disease Centre, College of Medicine, The First Affiliated Hospital, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, Zhejiang, 310003, People's Republic of China.

There has been a rapid progress in developing genetically engineered T cells in recent years both in basic and clinical cancer studies. Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-T cells exert an immune response against various cancers, including the non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). As novel agents of immunotherapy, CAR-T cells show great promise for NSCLC.

The IL2 receptor (IL2R) is an attractive cancer immunotherapy target that controls immunosuppressive T regulatory cells (Treg) and antitumor T cells. Here we used IL2Rβ-selective IL2/anti-IL2 complexes (IL2c) to stimulate effector T cells preferentially in the orthotopic mouse ID8agg ovarian cancer model. Despite strong tumor rejection, IL2c unexpectedly lowered the tumor microenvironmental CD8/Treg ratio.

Department of Medical Oncology, Lung Cancer and Gastrointestinal Unit, Hunan Cancer Hospital/The Affiliated Cancer Hospital of Xiangya School of Medicine, Central South University, Changsha, China.

Background: Myelosuppressive chemotherapy often results in febrile neutropenia (FN) in patients with lung cancer, resulting in infection, prolonged hospitalization, higher economic and labor costs, and increased mortality rate. Colony-stimulating factor (CSF) is used to treat FN, but it exhibits limited efficacy and is often underused. We evaluated Joungal, a traditional Chinese medicine, for treatment of neutropenic complications in patients with lung cancer who received chemotherapy.

Department of Dermatology, Second Xiangya Hospital, Central South University, Hunan Key Laboratory of Medical Epigenetics, Changsha, Hunan, 410011, PR China. Electronic address:

Autoimmune diseases are common diseases of the immune system that are characterized by the loss of self-tolerance and the production of autoantibodies; the breakdown of immune tolerance and the prolonged inflammatory reaction are undisputedly core steps in the initiation and maintenance of autoimmunity. Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPARs) are ligand-dependent transcription factors that belong to the nuclear hormone receptor family and act as ligand-activated transcription factors. There are three different isotypes of PPARs: PPARα, PPARγ, and PPARβ/δ.
