Transoral endoscopic thyroidectomy vestibular approach (TOETVA) has recently become a hot research topic due to the advantage of leaving no scar, but, according to most centers, its indication is restricted to the size of thyroid gland. Here we report a case of a female patient with Class III goitre who successfully underwent TOETVA (video attached). A 53-year-old woman with a previous history of chest keloidosis presented with a history of neck swelling for 3 years and was diagnosed as Hashimoto's thyroiditis with no nodules.

is an important BRCAx candidate for familial breast cancers (FBC). pathogenic variants (PVs) may not to conform to "two hit" paradigm. However, a recent study demonstrates that in the majority germline mutant breast cancers, the loss of heterozygosity (LOH) and somatic point mutations are the "second hit.

Background: To investigate the impact of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and metformin treatment on the prognosis of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) patients received radical surgical treatment.
Methods: Eight hundred and fifty-two patients with OSCC between January 2011 and January 2015 were included in the cohort study. Propensity score analysis was used to balance the characteristics of patients with or without T2DM and those of patients with T2DM treated with or without metformin.

There has been a rapid progress in developing genetically engineered T cells in recent years both in basic and clinical cancer studies. Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-T cells exert an immune response against various cancers, including the non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). As novel agents of immunotherapy, CAR-T cells show great promise for NSCLC.

The IL2 receptor (IL2R) is an attractive cancer immunotherapy target that controls immunosuppressive T regulatory cells (Treg) and antitumor T cells. Here we used IL2Rβ-selective IL2/anti-IL2 complexes (IL2c) to stimulate effector T cells preferentially in the orthotopic mouse ID8agg ovarian cancer model. Despite strong tumor rejection, IL2c unexpectedly lowered the tumor microenvironmental CD8/Treg ratio.

Background: Myelosuppressive chemotherapy often results in febrile neutropenia (FN) in patients with lung cancer, resulting in infection, prolonged hospitalization, higher economic and labor costs, and increased mortality rate. Colony-stimulating factor (CSF) is used to treat FN, but it exhibits limited efficacy and is often underused. We evaluated Joungal, a traditional Chinese medicine, for treatment of neutropenic complications in patients with lung cancer who received chemotherapy.

Autoimmune diseases are common diseases of the immune system that are characterized by the loss of self-tolerance and the production of autoantibodies; the breakdown of immune tolerance and the prolonged inflammatory reaction are undisputedly core steps in the initiation and maintenance of autoimmunity. Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPARs) are ligand-dependent transcription factors that belong to the nuclear hormone receptor family and act as ligand-activated transcription factors. There are three different isotypes of PPARs: PPARα, PPARγ, and PPARβ/δ.

Introduction: Primary gastric diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (GDLBCL) is a heterogeneous disease in clinicopathological features and prognosis. Programmed death ligand-1 (PD-L1) and microRNA-34a (miR-34a) play crucial roles in GDLBCL progress. The purpose of this research is to explore the clinical significance of PD-L1 and miR-34a expression in GDLBCL.

Purpose: This retrospective study analyzed the polymorphisms and phenotypic frequencies of CYP2C9, CYP2C19 and CYP2D6 in a Han Chinese population.
Methods: Tests for polymorphisms of CYP2C9, CYP2C19 and CYP2D6 were performed in over 3000 (3099-3931) samples using an Illumina HiSeq X Ten sequencer. Following the guidance of the PharmGKB and PharmVar databases, the polymorphisms of CYP2C9, CYP2C19 and CYP2D6 were transformed into phenotypes, which included ultrarapid metabolizers (UMs), rapid metabolizers (RMs), normal metabolizers (NMs), intermediate metabolizers (IMs) and poor metabolizers (PMs).
