To identify clinical and genetic variants associated with early-onset cardiac toxicity with a low cumulative dose of chemotherapy drugs in breast cancer. A total of 388 recruited patients completed routine blood, liver and kidney function, D-dimer, troponin T, brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) or N-terminal prohormone of BNP, ECG and echocardiography tests before and after adjuvant chemotherapy. 25 single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were tested.

Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is the most common lymphoma subtype. Treatment of DLBCL has improved greatly in recent decades, with thousands of papers published. We conducted a bibliometric analysis of the literature on DLBCL treatment, and discussed cooperation among authors, countries, and institutions, and identified research hotspots for DLBCL treatment.

Purpose: We used targeted capture sequencing to analyze TP53-mutated circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in metastatic breast cancer patients and to determine whether TP53 mutation has predictive value for anti-human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) treatment for in HER2 amplification-positive patients (HER2+) and HER2 mutation-positive, amplification-negative (HER2-/mut) patients.
Patients And Methods: TP53 mutation features were analyzed in the Geneplus cohort (n = 1184). The MSK-BREAST cohort was used to explore the value of TP53 mutation in predicting anti-HER-2 antibody efficacy.

Background: In triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), PDL1/PD1-directed immunotherapy is effective in less than 20% of patients. In our preliminary study, we have found CSPG4 to be highly expressed together with PDL1 in TNBCs, particularly those harboring aberrations. However, the clinical implications of co-expressed CSPG4 and PDL1 in TNBCs remain elusive.

Acral melanoma, the most common melanoma subtype among non-White individuals, is associated with poor prognosis. However, its key molecular drivers remain obscure. Here, we perform integrative genomic and clinical profiling of acral melanomas from 104 patients treated in North America (n = 37) or China (n = 67).

Background: Cancer therapy targeting programmed death receptor-1 (PD-1 or CD279) or programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1 or CD274) gives hope to Tongue Squamous Cell Carcinoma (TSCC) treatment. However, the tumor-intrinsic mechanism of PD-L1 is not fully elucidated in TSCC. On the other hand, lycopene showed antitumor effects and chemotherapy/radiotherapy-enhancing effects by mechanisms closely correlated with PD-L1.

Purpose: To investigate whether retinal neuroinflammatory response was affected by aging in a rat model of acute glaucoma.
Methods: Young adult and aged rats were randomly assigned into normal control, 45 mmHg, 60 mmHg, and 90 mmHg groups. Intraocular pressure (IOP) of rats was acutely elevated to 45 mmHg, 60 mmHg, and 90 mmHg, respectively.

Objective: This study investigated the effects of constant light exposure on polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)-like endocrine and metabolic changes in high-fat diet (HFD)-fed rats and to elucidate the related microbiotic mechanisms.
Methods: A total of 32 female Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into four groups (n = 8 each): rats on a normal chow diet with standard light-dark cycle, rats on a normal chow diet with constant light exposure, rats on an HFD with standard light-dark cycle, and rats on an HFD with constant light exposure. After 16 weeks of treatment, changes in anthropometric parameters, estrous cycle, hormone profiles, ovarian pathology, and gut microbiota and short-/medium-chain fatty acids in colon contents were assessed.

Background: Adult sporadic Burkitt lymphoma (BL) is a rare but highly aggressive subtype of lymphoma which lacks its own unique prognostic model. Systemic inflammatory biomarkers have been confirmed as prognostic markers in several types of malignancy. Our objective was to explore the predictive value of pretreatment inflammatory biomarkers and establish a novel, clinically applicable prognostic index for adult patients with sporadic BL.

Background: Deliberate practice (DP) was proposed for effective clinical skill training, which highlights focused, repetitive practice and feedback as the key points for practice. Although previous studies have investigated the effect of feedback in DP, little is known about the proper repetitive cycles of clinical skills training especially in physical examination (PE) training.
Methods: We drew learning curves and designed a comparative study to find out the optimal number of hands-on practice cycles, an important aspect of DP, in abdominal PE training for medical students.

Bladder cancer (BC) and melanoma are amenable to immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) therapy, yet most patients with advanced/metastatic disease do not respond. CD122-targeted interleukin (IL)-2 can improve ICB efficacy, but mechanisms are unclear. We tested αPD-L1 and CD122-directed immunotherapy with IL-2/αIL-2 complexes (IL-2c) in primary and metastatic bladder and melanoma tumors.

The bronchial vascular endothelial network plays important roles in pulmonary pathology during respiratory viral infections, including respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), influenza A(H1N1) and importantly SARS-Cov-2. All of these infections can be severe and even lethal in patients with underlying risk factors.A major obstacle in disease prevention is the lack of appropriate efficacious vaccine(s) due to continuous changes in the encoding capacity of the viral genome, exuberant responsiveness of the host immune system and lack of effective antiviral drugs.

The efficacy of traditional treatment for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is still unsatisfactory. Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) has been widely used in the treatment of various types of mental disorders, including PTSD. Although rTMS has been demonstrated to be effective in many cases, there are still arguments regarding its mechanism and protocol.

Patient-derived cancer cells (PDCs) and patient-derived xenografts (PDXs) are often used as tumor models, but have many shortcomings. PDCs not only lack diversity in terms of cell type, spatial organization, and microenvironment but also have adverse effects in stem cell cultures, whereas PDX are expensive with a low transplantation success rate and require a long culture time. In recent years, advances in three-dimensional (3D) organoid culture technology have led to the development of novel physiological systems that model the tissues of origin more precisely than traditional culture methods.

Background: proto-oncogene amplification (amp) is an important mechanism underlying acquired resistance to epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs). However, the optimal treatment strategy after acquiring amp-mediated EGFR-TKI resistance remains controversial. Our study compared three treatment strategies for patients with -mutant non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who were detected with amp at EGFR-TKI progression using next-generation sequencing.
