Background: There hasn't been research done on the connection between serum anion gap (AG) levels and long-, medium-, and short-term all-cause mortality in congestive heart failure (CHF) patients. This study aims to investigate the association between serum anion gap levels and all-cause mortality in CHF patients after adjusting for other covariates.

Methods: For each patient, we gather demographic information, comorbidities, laboratory results, vital signs, and scoring data using the ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Admission Scoring System from the MIMIC-III database.

Pulmonary fibrosis (PF) is a chronic interstitial lung disorder characterized by abnormal myofibroblast activation, accumulation of extracellular matrix (ECM), and thickening of fibrotic alveolar walls, resulting in deteriorated lung function. PF is initiated by dysregulated wound healing processes triggered by factors such as excessive inflammation, oxidative stress, and coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Despite advancements in understanding the disease's pathogenesis, effective preventive and therapeutic interventions are currently lacking.

The most frequently reported adverse reaction to zoledronic acid is an acute phase reaction resembling influenza. While rarer adverse events such as osteonecrosis of the jaw and atypical femoral fractures have gained significant recognition, the ocular adverse effects, particularly scleritis, are not yet fully comprehended. Here, we present the case of a 75-year-old female patient with osteoporosis who developed bilateral redness and intense eye pain 48 h after receiving a 5 mg intravenous dose of zoledronic acid.

Objective: Exploring the effect of SJQJD on the pulmonary microbiota of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) rats through 16S ribosomal RNA (rRNA) sequencing.

Methods: A COPD rat model was constructed through smoking and lipopolysaccharide (LPS) stimulation, and the efficacy of SJQJD was evaluated by hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining and Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbnent Assay (ELISA). The alveolar lavage fluid of rats was subjected to 16S rRNA sequencing.

The multifaceted roles of GSDME-mediated pyroptosis in cancer: therapeutic strategies and persisting obstacles.

Cell Death Dis

December 2023

Molecular Pharmacology Laboratory, Department of Clinical Pharmacy, Xiangtan Center Hospital, Xiangtan, 411100, China.

Pyroptosis is a novel regulated cell death (RCD) mode associated with inflammation and innate immunity. Gasdermin E (GSDME), a crucial component of the gasdermin (GSDM) family proteins, has the ability to convert caspase-3-mediated apoptosis to pyroptosis of cancer cells and activate anti-tumor immunity. Accumulating evidence indicates that GSDME methylation holds tremendous potential as a biomarker for early detection, diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of tumors.

Pyroptosis in renal inflammation and fibrosis: current knowledge and clinical significance.

Cell Death Dis

July 2023

Molecular Pharmacology Laboratory, Department of Clinical Pharmacy, Xiangtan Center Hospital, Xiangtan, 411100, China.

Pyroptosis is a novel inflammatory form of regulated cell death (RCD), characterized by cell swelling, membrane rupture, and pro-inflammatory effects. It is recognized as a potent inflammatory response required for maintaining organismal homeostasis. However, excessive and persistent pyroptosis contributes to severe inflammatory responses and accelerates the progression of numerous inflammation-related disorders.

Introduction: We reported a patient with rheumatoid arthritis who received chronic methotrexate (MTX) therapy and experienced several adverse reactions like hemocytopenia and renal impairment. Under the monitoring of the therapeutic drug concentration, calcium folate and other measures were used to accelerate methotrexate excretion and eliminate adverse reactions.

Case Presentation: A 66-year-old man with rheumatoid arthritis received MTX and developed adverse effects of bone marrow suppression, like pancytopenia.

Long intergenic noncoding RNA LINC01287 drives the progression of cervical cancer via regulating miR-513a-5p/SERP1.

Hum Cell

September 2022

Molecular Pharmacology Laboratory, Department of Clinical Pharmacy, Xiangtan Center Hospital, Heping Street 120, Xiangtan, 411100, China.

Cervical cancer is one of the most frequent types of cancer in women, which is characterized by high invasion and metastatic tendency in its advanced stage. Emerging evidence indicated that long non-coding RNAs (LncRNAs) are involved in the pathogenesis of cervical cancer. LINC01287 has been reported to play crucial regulatory roles in the pathogenesis and progression of multiple cancers.

Since ECG was invented in 1903, this is the first time in history that a full information multi-band and multi-linear electrophysiological cardiogram has been used to successfully scan and record on the human body surface. Since it is able to record various multi-band, multi-track linear electric signals of cardiac electrophysiological activities that correspond to different regions of the entire heart, it has thus been denominated as "electrophysiocardiogram" (EPCG). A traditional ECG is always represented by a characteristic wave form, which resembles a string.

Generating hESCs with reduced immunogenicity by disrupting TAP1 or TAPBP.

Biosci Biotechnol Biochem

August 2016

a College of Animal Science, Stem Cell and Developmental Biology Research Center , Zhejiang University, Hangzhou , P.R. China.

Human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) are thought to be a promising resource for cell therapy, while it has to face the major problem of graft immunological rejection. Major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I expressed on the cell surface is the major cause of graft rejection. Transporter associated with antigen presentation 1 (TAP1) and TAP-associated glycoprotein (TAPBP) play important roles in regulating MHC class I expression.

Functional disruption of human leukocyte antigen II in human embryonic stem cell.

Biol Res

October 2015

College of Animal Science, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, 310058, People's Republic of China.

Background: Theoretically human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) have the capacity to self-renew and differentiate into all human cell types. Therefore, the greatest promise of hESCs-based therapy is to replace the damaged tissues of patients suffering from traumatic or degenerative diseases by the exact same type of cells derived from hESCs. Allograft immune rejection is one of the obstacles for hESCs-based clinical applications.
