Purpose: The objective of the current research was to assess the clinicopathological characteristics and long-term prognosis of triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-low status following breast surgery.
Methods: A total of 202 TNBC patients treated at Qingdao Central Hospital from January 2010 to December 2019 were included, comprising 71 HER2-low and 131 HER2-zero patients. Propensity score matching (PSM) was applied to minimize differences between the cohorts.

Background: Breast cancer (BC) in adolescents and young adults (AYAs, aged 15-39 years), remains inadequately understood. The incidence of BC in AYAs has been steadily increasing, making it the second leading cause of cancer-related mortality among females aged 0-39 globally. This study aimed to elucidate the clinical characteristics and long-term outcomes of AYAs and older adults (OAs, aged > 39 years) with BC who underwent surgery.

Background: Reportedly, the stress-hyperglycemia ratio (SHR) is closely associated with poor prognosis in patients with severe acute disease. However, the community-dwelling may also be in a state of stress due to environmental exposure. Our study aimed to explore the association between SHR and all-cause mortality in the community-dwelling population.

Background: The workload of breast cancer pathological diagnosis is very heavy. The purpose of this study is to establish a nomogram model based on pathological images to predict the benign and malignant nature of breast diseases and to validate its predictive performance.
Methods: In retrospect, a total of 2,723 H&E-stained pathological images were collected from 1,474 patients at Qingdao Central Hospital between 2019 and 2022.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the fourth leading cause of cancer-related deaths among cancer patients. Vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGFA) is involved in regulating biological processes, such as angiogenesis and vascular permeability, and is very closely related to the pathogenesis of various tumours, especially vascular-rich, solid tumours. Clinical data of patients with HCC and other tumours were analysed through public databases, such as the TCGA database, Gene Expression Omnibus database, Human Protein Atlas database, STRING, Tumour Immune Estimation Resource and Kaplan-Meier Plotter.

Adropin is a secreted protein that regulates endothelial function. However, adropin levels in obese adolescent patients are currently uncertain. Therefore, we evaluated the association between plasma adropin levels and vascular endothelial function and investigated the effect of aerobic exercise in obese adolescents.
