Background: A plenty of previous researches have reported the prognostic value of CDC20 (Cell Division Cycle Protein 20) in solid tumors. Nevertheless, these researches were restricted by the small sample databases and the results were not strongly consistent among them.
Methods: We comprehensively searched these relevant studies by PubMed, Web of Science, and EMBASE, in which publications before March 2017 were included.

Leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF), a member of the interleukin-6 cytokine family, plays a complex role in cancer. LIF inhibits the proliferation and survival of several myeloid leukemia cells but promotes tumor progression and metastasis in many solid tumors. However, the relationship between LIF and gastric cancer has not been well understood.

Background: To investigate whether PET/CT-guided bone marrow biopsy adds complementary information for evaluation of bone marrow involvement (BMI) in newly diagnosed lymphomas.
Methods: Patients with newly diagnosed lymphomas that received both F-FDG PET/CT and bone marrow biopsy (BMB) were included in this retrospective study. PET/CT classification of bone lesions was classified as isolated, multifocal (2 lesions or more), diffuse (homogeneous uptake of the entire axial skeleton), or negative.

Background: The value of postoperative radiotherapy in tubular breast carcinoma patients under 65 years is uncertain.
Methods: Data on patients with estrogen receptor positive T1N0M0 tubular breast carcinoma who were younger than 65 years and who received breast-conserving surgery between 2000 and 2013 were retrieved from the Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results database. Demographic, clinicopathologic features, and receipt of postoperative radiotherapy were analyzed to investigate effects on survival.

Tob1, a Tob/BTG anti-proliferative protein family member, functions as a tumour suppressor in many cancers. Here, we reveal a unique oncogenic role of Tob1 in colon cancer. Tob1 expression was upregulated during colon cancer progression, was significantly correlated with tumour size and tumour differentiation, and was a prognostic indicator of colon cancer.

BACKGROUND Recent studies have shown that some members of the tripartite motif-containing protein (TRIM) family function as important regulators in several tumors. However, the clinical significance of TRIM15 in gastric adenocarcinoma has not been elucidated. In the present study, we aimed to examine the expression pattern of TRIM15 and explore whether the TRIM15 expression is correlated with clinicopathological characteristics of patients with gastric adenocarcinoma.

Background: The roles of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX2) -765G > C (rs20417) and -1195G > A (rs689466) polymorphisms in gastric cancer were intensively analyzed, but the results of these studies were inconsistent. We conducted a meta-analysis and trial sequential analysis to elucidate the associations between these two COX2 polymorphisms and gastric cancer risk.
Methods: Eligible studies were searched in PubMed, Embase, Cochrane library databases, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Vip, and Wanfang databases.

Introduction: We aimed to evaluate the clinicopathologic characteristics and clinical outcomes of the mixed type versus the pure type of tubular carcinoma (TC) of the breast in a retrospective cohort study.
Materials And Methods: Patients were categorized into the following three groups: patients with pure TC of the breast (the PTC group), patients with TC and carcinoma in situ of the breast (the TC-CIS group), and patients with TC and other invasive carcinomas of the breast (the TC-IC group). We compared the clinicopathologic characteristics and treatment outcomes of the three groups.

Purpose: The great efficacy of EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKIs) has been identified in patients with advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) who harbor EGFR mutations. However, it has not yet been established in postoperative adjuvant therapy.
Patients And Methods: To compare the prognosis and toxicity of EGFR-TKI-based adjuvant therapy and non-EGFR-TKI-based adjuvant therapy in resected NSCLC with sensitive EGFR mutations, we performed this meta-analysis of all eligible randomized controlled trials (RCTs).

Purpose: For whole esophagus and T-shaped field radiotherapy using intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) technique in advanced esophageal cancer, lower absorbed doses to lung and heart remains a challenge. The aim of this study was to investigate the dosimetric superiority in IMRT plans with jaw tracking technique for whole esophagus radiotherapy.
Methods And Materials: Thirty-two patients with esophageal cancer were subjected to IMRT treatment plans using Eclipse treatment planning system.

Invadopodia are actin-based cortical protrusions of tumour cells, and required for stromal invasion and metastasis. Extracellular matrix protein 1 (ECM1) has long been regarded as a secretory protein, but the mechanism of its precise functions in tumour cells is still obscure. Recently published data suggested a function of ECM1 in remodelling the actin cytoskeleton; however, its role in invadopodia formation remains unknown.

The inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor (IMT) is a rare stromal tumor with diverse imaging findings. The present study describes a case of contrast-enhanced CT and F-FDG PET/CT manifestations of an IMT with diffuse omental and mesenteric thickening and swelling in the entire abdominal cavity. It is extremely rare to observe such imaging features in the extrapulmonary IMT.

Distant metastasis remains the major cause of treatment failure in esophageal cancer, though there have been few large-scale studies of the patterns of distant metastasis in different histological types. We investigated the patterns of distant metastasis in esophageal adenocarcinoma (AC) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) using a population-based approach. Patients with stage IV esophageal cancer at diagnosis were identified using the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database.

Nanotransducer-mediated photothermal therapy (PTT) has emerged as an attractive therapy modality against cancer, but its efficacy is often limited by the amount of nanoparticles delivered to tumors. Previous studies showed a vasculature modulation treatment, which dilates or prunes tumor blood vessels, may enhance tumor uptake of nanoparticles. However, exploiting these approaches for improved PTT has seldom been studied.

Introduction: The timing of postmastectomy radiotherapy (PMRT) may influence locoregional recurrence and survival outcomes. In this study, we assessed the long-term survival effect of the interval between surgery and PMRT in locally advanced breast cancer treated with mastectomy and adjuvant chemotherapy.
Methods: In this retrospective study, we included women with locally advanced breast cancer who underwent adjuvant chemotherapy and PMRT after mastectomy between 1999 and 2007.
