Purpose: To evaluate the effect of casein phosphopeptide-amorphous calcium phosphate (CPP-ACP) combined with different concentrations of fluoride on demineralization of enamel remineralization.

Methods: Extracted premolar teeth for orthodontic reason were immersed into lactic acid gel to prepare artificial white spot lesions. Then the specimens were randomly assigned to 3 groups: 5% CPP-ACP group as control, 5% CPP-ACP +500 mg/L F- group and 5% CPP-ACP +900 mg/L F- group, which were measured by micro-hardness tester.

[The change of calcitonin gene- related peptide in periodontal tissue during orthodontic tooth movement].

Shanghai Kou Qiang Yi Xue

December 2012

Department of Orthodontics, Stomatological Hospital, College of Medicine, Xi'an Jiaotong University. Xi'an 710004, Shanxi Province, China.

Purpose: To establish a Sprague-Dawley rat model of tooth movement, detect the expression of calcitonin gene-related peptide (calcitonin gene related peptide, CGRP) in Sprague-Dawley rats' periodontal tissues during tooth movement and explore the role of the peripheral mechanisms of pain in orthodontics.

Methods: 60 Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into experimental group (n=54) and control group (n=6). Force was applied on right maxillary first molar in rats and the changes of CGRP expression were detected by real-time PCR 4 h, 8 h, 1 d, 3 d, 5 d, 7 d, 14 d after tooth movement.

[Assessment of cell proliferation during distraction osteogenesis of peridental ligament in rats].

Shanghai Kou Qiang Yi Xue

April 2011

Department of Orthodontics, the Affiliated Stomatological Hospital, Medical School of Xi'an Jiaotong University. Xi'an 710004, Shanxi Province, China.

Purpose: To establish an animal model of orthodontic rapid tooth movement through distraction osteogenesis of the periodontal ligament and assess the cell proliferation including osteoblasts, osteoclasts and bone cells.

Methods: Forty rats were randomly divided into experimental and orthodontic control group, and received BrdU injection at the beginning of distraction intraperiotoneally. Traditional orthodontic model was established in the control group.

This study was aimed to detect the expression of co-stimulatory molecules CD80, CD86 and CD137 in peripheral blood of patients with idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), the content of platelet antibodies in serum (PAIgG), and to analyze the relationship between them and their correlation with the number of platelet in peripheral blood, so as to clarify the roles of co-stimulatory molecules in pathogenesis of idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura and evaluation of disease status. The co-stimulatory molecules CD80, CD86 and CD137 in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMNCs) of 48 ITP patients and 40 normal persons were detected by immunofluorescence and flow cytometry (FACS), PAIgG content in serum was detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The results showed that CD80, CD86 and CD137 expression levels in ITP patients were (4.
