N-methyladenosine in 28S rRNA promotes oncogenic mRNA translation and tyrosine catabolism.

Aberrant N-methyladenosine (mA) modification on mRNA results in dysregulated mRNA translation and cancer progression; however, the role of mA modification on rRNA remains unclear in cancers. Here, we show that ZCCHC4 and its mediated mA modification on 28S rRNA are upregulated in various cancers and correlated with poor survival. Functionally, ZCCHC4 promotes intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) progression via its catalytic activity.

Precooling storage of bone cement in percutaneous vertebroplasty for osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture.

Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the effect of precooling storage of bone cement in percutaneous vertebroplasty(PVP) for the patients with osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture (OVCF).

Methods: A total of 207 OVCF patients who underwent PVP were included in this study. Two different storage methods for the bone cement were randomly utilized: an operating room (NT group, 23 °C) and a refrigerator (PC group, 4 °C).

Methods: NPC cases and matched controls were identified from prospective cohorts comprising 75,481 participants in southern China. ELISA and conditional logistic regression were applied to assess effects of gp42-IgG on NPC.

Immune checkpoint inhibitor-associated bullous pemphigoid: A retrospective and real-world study based on the United States Food and Drug Administration adverse event reporting system.

This study aimed to describe bullous pemphigoid (BP) associated with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) reported in the United States Food and Drug Administration adverse event reporting system (FAERS). We obtained reports of ICI-associated BP from the first quarter of 2011 to the first quarter of 2024 in the FAERS database. The reporting odds ratio (ROR) method of the disproportionality analysis was performed to assess the potential risk for ICI-associated BP.

Association of CYP7B1 expression with the prognosis of endometrial cancer: a retrospective study.

Background: Endometrial cancer (EC) tissues express CYP7B1, but its association with prognosis needs to be investigated.

Methods: Immunohistochemistry and image analysis software were used to assess CYP7B1 protein expression in paraffin-embedded endometrial tumor sections. Associations between CYP7B1 and clinical factors were tested with the Wilcoxon rank-sum test.

An individualized immune prognostic signature in nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

Background: Immune-related characteristics can serve as reliable prognostic biomarkers in various cancers. Herein, we aimed to construct an individualized immune prognostic signature in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC).

Methods: This study retrospectively included 455 NPC samples and 39 normal healthy nasopharyngeal tissue specimens.

CT Anatomical Analysis of C4 Pedicle and Lateral Mass in Children Aged 0-14 in Southern China.

Objective: The C4 is the transition point between the upper and lower cervical vertebrae and plays a pivotal role in the middle of the cervical spine. Currently, there are limited reports on large-scale sample studies regarding C4 anatomy in children, and a scarcity of experience exists in pediatric cervical spine surgery. The current study addresses the dearth of anatomical measurements of the C4 vertebral arch and lateral mass in a substantial sample of children.

Objective: To analyze thalassemia genotypes and distribution of children in Wuzhou Guangxi, and evaluate the diagnostic value of HbA2 in children's thalassemia screening, so as to provide scientific evidence for the prevention and control strategies of thalassemia.

Methods: This study aimed to identify culprit drugs that reduced male semen quality based on the United States Food and Drug Administration adverse event reporting system. The Medical Dictionary for Regulatory Activities preferred terms and standardized Medical Dictionary for Regulatory Activities queries were used to define reduced male semen quality.

A real-world pharmacovigilance study of drug-induced QT interval prolongation: analysis of spontaneous reports submitted to FAERS.

Purpose: To identify the most commonly reported drugs associated with QT interval prolongation in the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System (FAERS) and evaluate their risk for QT interval prolongation.

Methods: We employed the preferred term (PT) "electrocardiogram QT prolonged" from the Medical Dictionary for Regulatory Activities (MedDRA) 26.0 to identify adverse drug events (ADEs) of QT interval prolongation in the FAERS database from the period 2004-2022.

Triglyceride-inflammation score established on account of random survival forest for predicting survival in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma: a retrospective study.

Objective: This study aimed to establish an effective prognostic model based on triglyceride and inflammatory markers, including neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio (LMR), and platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), to predict overall survival (OS) in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). Additionally, we aimed to explore the interaction and mediation between these biomarkers in their association with OS.

Methods: A retrospective review was conducted on 259 NPC patients who had blood lipid markers, including triglyceride and total cholesterol, as well as parameters of peripheral blood cells measured before treatment.

Establishing subdivisions of M1 stage nasopharyngeal carcinoma based on decision tree classification: A multicenter retrospective study.

Objectives: To meet the demand for personalized treatment, effective stratification of patients with metastatic nasopharyngeal carcinoma (mNPC) is essential. Hence, our study aimed to establish an M1 subdivision for prognostic prediction and treatment planning in patients with mNPC.

Materials And Methods: This study included 1239 patients with mNPC from three medical centers divided into the synchronous mNPC cohort (smNPC, n = 556) to establish an M1 stage subdivision and the metachronous mNPC cohort (mmNPC, n = 683) to validate this subdivision.

Methods: From 2020 to 2021, we conducted a nationwide survey in 19 hospitals, collecting data on advanced CRC patients' demographics, clinical features, disease knowledge, medical experiences, expenditures, and health-related quality of life (HRQOL).

Purpose: The research objective of this study is to use finite element analysis to investigate the impact of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury on medial unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA) and explore whether patients with ACL injuries can undergo UKA.

Methods: Based on the morphology of the ACL, models of ACL with diameters ranging from 1 to 10mm are created. Finite element models of UKA include ACL absence and ACLs with different diameters.
